Nem'ro's life had significantly improved since he took over Ryloth. The ire of the Sith Empress aside, his wealth and influence had increased significantly, as had his prestige on the Hutt Council of Families. He was now the master of the Hutt Clan on a single planet. A seemingly small start, but a big one in terms of his growing power in the Cartel. The Besadii kajidic now answered to him alone. But his eyes were now set on the biggest prize of them all: Supreme Mogul.
It would not be easy. The Sith Empress had her hands in everything. But his encounter with her had left a bad taste in his mouth. The Sith were valuable allies, but he wasn't about to become their sycophant. His assets were not an extension of their power. So he had waited patiently, biding his time on Ryloth, and kept his head down since the battle for the planet ended. The renovations for his new palace in Lessu were nearly complete. In the meantime, his former second-in-command had tipped him off to a potential valuable ally. A potential Sith ally.
So he summoned said Sith to his palace quietly. His audience had been dismissed for the day. Only he, his protocol droid, and a cadre of armed guards were present in the throne room. Criminals were notoriously untrustworthy and he couldn't risk a leak. He hoped he and this new Sith could reach a beneficial business arrangement for them both. If so, his criminal empire would have some insurance, and he could devote himself to more pressing matters: namely the Supreme Mogul and the Republic. @Foxfire
