The meeting was held in a neutral spot. Dead center in the plains between the two "villages". A tent was set up so that they could talk inside and out of the weather... and both chieftains arrived with their own entourages in tow. They sat on opposite ends of the tent with the two Jedi standing in between them.

Upon seeing both chieftains, Tynian's assessment was confirmed that they were father and sin, since they both looked alike and had some of the same mannerisms.
As they all got in their respective places, Tynian cleared his throat to indicate the meeting was going to start. Taking the opening part, the young Jedi held his hands out in greeting to both. "We are both pleased and thankful that you all would come to this meeting. It is our hope that we can set aside our differences and come to an agreement that would be both beneficial and pleasant for all involved." He looked at the older Chieftain. "You all wanted the Jedi here to help resolve this situation that is dividing your people. We are here as guests, yet in the authority given us, by our Order, and by yourselves. So I would suggest not to take our words lightly." He then turned and looked at the younger Chieftain. "I sense that this dispute is more personal than anything else. Is that correct?"

Kane watched the Chieftans arrive, greeting them both personally as they did so and taking count of the numbers in each entourage. He knew if negotiations escalated it would prove difficult for just the two Jedi to shut it down.

He watched and listened to Tynian's opening, and having nothing to add just yet he simply folded his hands in front of himself and waited for the Chieftans to speak.

The younger chieftain nodded in response to Tynian’s question. “I wanted to marry someone from outside of our tribe.” He stood up and pointed a finger at the older chieftain. “And this old man said I couldn’t! That I was breaking our laws and traditions.”
The older chieftain stood up, “You have no regard for our ways! You would throw them away for a life with... an outsider!”

The entourages were getting riled up a bit as they began hurling insult to each other and shaking their fists.
Tynian held up his hands, using the force to calm everyone down.
It wasn’t manipulation, just a slight nudge in the direction of peace. He knew Kane was doing the same thing, which helped out tremendously...

“You have all got to get through this. Having a personal offense against one another, makes the rest of your people live in uncertainty. Either you two need to fix this, or as Jedi and the authority given us, by our power and tradition, we will replace both of you with someone who has the people’s best interest in mind.” He let those words sink in. “You are family... and in places of leadership. You both should know better.”

Kane followed suit with Tynian, helping to weave a blanket of calm over the gathering. As both of the Chieftans stood silent for a moment, stunned by how bluntly his son had told them that they could be replaced -exactly what they needed to hear to shut down the argument- he took the opportunity to speak himself. Starting with limiting distractions and outside influences.

"All but us and the great Chieftans please leave. Your influence and negative energies will simply be a hinderance here, you may wait outside."

He used his best "no nonsense" tone, leaving no room for argument. Slowly the entourages shuffled out until there were only the four of them in the tent.

"Now," he began, mimicking Tynian's gesture, "Your people are in a state if turmoil, one caused by hatred and fear. That alone should be reason enough for you two to put asside your differences and work out a fair compromise. But let me add one more, one that may be more pressing even than that."

Kane paused a moment, letting the Chieftans digest what he had said. During this pause he pulled out a small holoprojector, set it down between the two leaders. He activated it and it displayed a map of the galaxy, on that map was marked their location, republic space, and all around them in bright red was marked the ever increasing area of Empire space.

"I am sure you have heard of the Empire by now. As you can see they have gained quite a few systems in a relatively short time for such conquest. They may not be here yet but I assure you they will, and much faster than you would expect."

Another pause for effect and understanding, the jaws of both Chieftans slightly dropping.

"Now, my esteemed Chieftans. You may have your problems, and I am in no way saying that they are insignificant. However, you must now ask yourselves. Is it worth it? Is it worth being devided and not even one quarter the strength that you would be together when the Empire comes to claim this world?"

With that he rested, once again clasping his hands in front of himself. However he left the projection running so that the Chieftans could look at the growing threat as they considered their next words.

The groups on each side shuffled out of the tent upon Kane’s command. They all knew not to question a Jedi in any circumstance, especially one that was as gruff as Kane was.

After they left the two chieftains listened to Kane and watched the holoprojector with horror. Their own beloved world would soon be invaded by the Sith and they needed to stand together to fight the threat of annihilation.

The older chieftain stood up and looked at his son. “We need to work together. You have weapons that would help us. Please teach us and work with us. And I offer you the place of chieftain in return.” He took his headdress off and laid it in front of his son.

The son crossed the room and embraced his father. “I am sorry Father. For all that we have been through... I only wanted to please you and make you proud. I think we could rule together for a while in the face of this new threat.”
He bent down, picked up the headdress and placed it back on his father’s head.

The older one nodded and then turned to the Jedi. “You have done us a great service this day. We will forever be in your debt and we call you friends from this day forward.”

Tynian looked at Kane and grinned. Well done father. And you said you’re not good at this sort of thing.

Kane smiled as he watched the two reconcile, it was going to take a lot of work but he could tell that they were going to be okay.

Thank you my son.

With the pair of Chieftans discussing how to merge the old ways with the new, the old Crusader deactivated and pocketed the holoprojector. He then moved to stand by his son, ready to leave as soon as Tynian was.

Tynian nodded to his father. The mediating between the two villages had turned out far better than he had first expected.

As the chieftains discussed their plans, the two Jedi took their leave and headed out of the tent and to their awaiting shuttle.

Once outside Tynian let out a long held breath. “That went well I think.” As he entered the shuttle, he grinned. “Maybe you should go into politics.”

The shuttle lifted off the ground and headed into orbit, taking the Jedi to their next assignment.
