Brianna had waited some time for an event like this; even kept the Imperial shuttle she had taken from that dead bastard on Kashyyyk. The Sith had taken one of their own, it was only fair that they pay that kind favor back. She sealed her helmet, as she would bring the shuttle down through the atmosphere, the small craft shaking as it punched through the stratosphere. Hopefully this would be a nice little black eye to the Sith, even though it was rather risky. She pressed the key for the ships intercom and spoke. "This is your pilot speaking. We will be hitting the LZ within the next minute. Let's give our guests a proper welcome." A wicked grin formed under the helmet, as she let the button go. She sent off her landing codes to the designated landing zone, but they weren't aiming for the landing zone. Brianna put to use the little trick she had learned back on Nar Shaddaa, as she shot the shuttle past the landing platform and spun it, before gunning a quick burst into the engines to catch itself. She dropped the landing ramp in the back, as the shuttle would come to a stop just a few meters away from the entrance of the Academy.

Normally when Burkhart went behind enemy lines he was doing it for smuggling or wanted to keep a low profile. However that was only the case for when he wanted to go undetected. Today he would be doing no such thing. Inside the shuttle that Brianna had brought he his mount, a trusty Basilisk War Droid made a mechanical growl. Burkhart smiled both at this and also the woman's words. He was ready to crack some skulls today. With his weapons either on his person or strapped to the side of the war droid he was armed to the teeth, and then some.

Today he had even a few gladius blaster rifles that were attached to the side of the behemoth. "Nice flyin thar lass." He said as the woman completed the manuver. He held on tight to the built in saddle. As the doors opened up in the back the Morling and his steed was basked in the Korriban light. Soon enough the warrior would be going to work on the Empire's architecture and doing plenty of aggressive landscaping.

Seeing as how her passenger was already taking off, Brianna responded back to him over the comm. "I'm going to make a strafe and get their attention. Just pound the hell out of them big guy!" She said with a laugh, as she whirled the shuttle around and fired upon the gathered Sith that milled below them; showering them with laser canon fire.

Once Kelborn was out of the hold, Brianna would shut the hatch and stay in her hovering position, strafing back and forth at the academy grounds, firing on those fleeing inside and outside of the structure. It was enjoyable picking the little bastards off like the insects they were, but she did long for a Basilisk droid that Burkhart was using. A few Sith troopers began to fire up at the shuttle in desperation, with most of their shots either pinging off of the hole of being absorbed with minor carbon scaring. Part of Brianna wished she had the time to have outfitted this thing with concussion missiles, now that would have been a good show. But still, she had Burkhart here to do all the damage for her.

And so it was that the Mandalorians came to Korriban. Tiberius Black, Imperial Agent, was currently stationed there instructing raw sith recruits on the intricacies of piloting, when the alarm came blaring through the tannoy system. Leaving the children where they stood, he broke into a run. All pilots very much included him - he was just glad he was in his combat gear already.

As luck would have it he was closer to the flight deck than the bulk of Korriban's defenders, and so had his pick of the starfighters available. Mounting up in a Reflex class starfighter, Tiberius fired it up and ran his pre flight checks in record time. Around him the hangar buzzed with activity, others frantically getting to their craft as quickly as they could. His ship picked itself up off the ground and shot out into the Korriban sun - a clear day, perfect for flying.

PILOTS BE ADVISED! BOGEYS ARE STOLEN IMPERIAL SHUTTLE AND MANDALORIAN BASILISK DROID! ENGAGE WITH PREJUDICE, GLORY TO THE EMPIRE!

Tiberius gunned the engines, keeping dialled into the reports coming in from the temple itself as he crossed the distance between the hangar complex and the academy. He made sure to get a decent altitude before entering the hot zone, making sure he was well out of range of any fire from surface level craft as he got a bead on his targets. One Basilisk Droid, and one stolen shuttle. Neither equipped to handle a superiority fighter with any degree of certainty.

The Mandalorians had ravaged sith space, and now they had come for the homeworld of the Sith. Tiberius reckoned he had a chance at making them pay for that overconfidence. Tilting the Reflex downwards, he powered up the weapons and cycled up the missiles. If nothing else, this would be quick. @Gian Greydragon

The hangar was filled with the sounds of war cries and sirens, along with ships taking off. The Mandalorians had only just reached the entrance, so the rest of the Academy was more or less safe, for now. Gaz had been doing some mechanic work on a ship when the sirens began blaring, and immediately jumped to the chance to defend when he heard the word "Mandalorian." This would be for Visrik.

He threw the filthy tarp he'd been wiping the ship down with, the blackened cloth slumping somewhere behind a bunch of crates. Gaz practically flew to his ship, a Vexatious-class fighter, his cockpit window opening and closing in a flash. He was already booting it up to fly off when the first wave of defenders flew out of the hangar. He soon followed.

His starfighter barreled out of the Academy's hangar, gaining altitude quickly. He made sure to stay out of the line of fire of the Basilisk he spotted near the entrance. The Sith noted the stolen Imperial shuttle the comms had been talking about and twisted his ship so he was flying toward it, several hundreds of meters away but quickly closing the distance.

What pissed him off the most was the killing of fleeing targets. Sith—both younglings and seasoned warriors—ran out of the Academy, only to find themselves razed down with cannon fire by a ship they wouldn't be able to reach if they tried. It was cruel, and most definitely not in line with Mandalorian values.

He switched the public comms on, so that everyone, including the Mandalorians would hear what he had to say. "Kyr'amur eyaytir lenedat?" he asked in Mandalorian, then clicked his tongue in a reprimanding manner. "Dar'manda."

Karen kicked the accelerator on her SP2 Stardancer forcing the ship to begin plummeting fast toward the imperial base, leaving the cover of the clouds behind, no one knew she was here, and she planned to make use of that..

The imperials had opened up wide spread communications, and started speaking something Karen didn't understand, but it had sounded like Mando'a, a strange thing for imperial scum to do.. a second later star fighters began pouring out of the hanger bay, how the hell did they know she was here already? They couldn't possibly have known and been this ready already..

Whatever had happened she needed to react, and warmed up cannons, she had a handful of missiles, but they all had names on them. Looking down she saw the first set of Crux-class Starfighters barreling through the air upward, and an imperial Vector-class Shuttle that appeared to he going to war with them, what the hell is going on? She thought as she prepared to begin her assault.

The wailing siren was clear to hear for everybody in the valley. Burkhart swore. They had chosen, or rather Brianna had thought it best to come in a shuttle of all things. He would simply turn back around and have hop on board the ship.

Dismounting he moved quickly to the copilot's seat of the shuttle and began setting the ray shields to protect against the incoming laser cannon fire from the distant enemies as they closed the distance. They were out of range but would be here soon.

He set it up so that when they shot off away from the starfighters the military grade light shields would be focused on their rear, towards the enemy craft.

Brianna was in the middle of her act, when the sensors on the shuttle began to beep a warning at her. Two Sith fighters were inbound, but still a ways off. Kelborn hadn't even started an offensive, and they were already in trouble. There was some demeaning bastard who thought his Mandalorian was going to intimidate her, but she tuned it out. It didn't look good. The transport was not designed for this kind of combat, especially not two starfighters. She needed to leave. Kelborn had apparently already made the same conclusion, as he was already on the shuttle. She would direct the shuttle up and out of the valley and away from the star fighters, beginning to calculate a hyperspace course.

Sota Kriger, a Sith Acolyte who had recently completed his training as a Sith, walked through the halls of the Academy to visit some colleagues, and aid in their training, even if it only meant tossing them to and fro with the Force, he was happy to do so. Having been within the upper levels of the academy when the attack began, Sota was largely safe from the initial assault, and had a clear view of the Mandalorian Field Marshal atop a Basilisk Droid, with a clear view of his armor. The level of detail Sota would be able to remember would surely aid in a bounty being placed on his head, for directly attacking the Sith Academy. As they retreated, Sota approached the opening, leading to the academy hangar, and prompted one of the guards that he'd be taking a Reflex-class Starfighter up to support those already in the air.

Sota, an ex-Deucalian national of Bandomeer, was familiar with aerial combat, and is not a terrible pilot to boot. He would quickly lift off and whip around, in search of the shuttle, or any others that were accompanying them, quickly acquiring eyes on a Rebel Starfighter.

He was right, it would be quick.

As fast as it had disembarked the basilisk droid turned and reentered the shuttle, which began to pull up for the atmosphere - presumably to run. Apparently the mandalorians had not expected resistance? It was a strange turn of events that much was certain but Tiberius was loathe to look a gift horse in the mouth. His Reflex was almost twice as fast and more manoeuvrable than the shuttle, which was only lightly armoured and shielded and had to set up its bearing correctly (not not have it obscured by, say, his own fighter craft) if it wanted to jump to hyperspace. It wasn't a ship known for its ability to take a beating.

Furthermore, Tiberius knew his Imperial ships. The Vector had a class 6 hyperdrive. In terms of dog-fighting time it was going to be an age before that thing was ready to go safely, he and his wingman had every opportunity therefore to reel the enemy in and blast them to ashes. Of course, there was always the chance that they panicked, and fled prematurely... Tiberius didn't plan on giving them the chance.

Closing in quickly, given that he was already at a decent altitude above the shuttle and the it was busy climbing, he entered weapons range in a matter of moments from above. Acquiring a lock took another moment, but once his reticule pinged green Tiberius only opened fire with his light laser cannons, squeezing off a sustained burst of twelve rapid fire shots. With the missile he waited - closing the gap between the shuttle and himself considerably (and accounting for any veering off to one side the enemy pilot might attempt in the process) before he switched and fired off his first concussion missile at fairly close range into its roof. A starfighter might have been able to veer away with a true ace in the cockpit, but something as ungainly as a Vector was a sitting duck - there was a reason these things usually had fighter escorts. The moment he pressed the firing stud and the missile was away Tiberius banked, roaring past the shuttle's rear from top left to bottom right and coming around in a wide arc. It was his intention to get in front of the shuttle, so his next run would come screaming directly at them.

Ever cold and analytical, he examined the circumstances. They must only have just began to plot a jump, which was bad. They were still in the atmosphere of Korriban (let alone 200km away from it), which was worse, and were taking fire - meaning they were almost certainly panicking, if they weren't blasted from the sky before they could make their play. He knew it was possible they could try a jump, but the odds were against them. There was every chance that staying and trying desperately to survive was actually their better bet...

He'd not forgotten the second bogey that had pinged on the still playing reports in his cockpit, but there were other craft in play - he had confidence in his wingmen closer to the hangar where the other combatant was to keep the Rebel off their backs. They were a way off the chase, and had some catching up to do while under fire if they wanted to save whoever was in the fleeing shuttle.

Hell no you don't. The shuttle turned around to leave, a Basilisk war droid hopping in. By the time the shields kicked in, Gaz was already less than a hundred meters away and flying closer, which was when he opened fire. Bolts burst out of his medium cannons, aimed from behind and to the right of the shuttle. They would hit its back shields and some would graze its unprotected right side. Since most of the fire was concentrated on the shields, they would give out very fast in the face of an unrelenting attack from guns heavier than it was meant to handle.

He would, of course, account for any swerving, though his starfighter was two times faster than the shuttle and easier to maneuver, so there was no way for him to be outplayed. Combined with the missiles heading toward its roof courtesy of Gaz's wingman, the Mandalorians were soon to find themselves shot out of the sky before they could even plot their hyperspace course. Should anyone try to eject, the Sith was ready to shoot them out of the sky with his cannons.

If the shields were to fall, he would fire a missile into the backside of the shuttle as soon as they were down.

The ship was moving and at its max acceleration when laser cannon fire took down its shields. The Morling knew ships and did not need to look at the gauge to know that the shields were done for. There was more incoming and he knew the blood thirsty sith would continue to be pounding the shuttle if they had not released missiles already. A single beep of incoming missiles sounded through the dashboard of the shuttle. Burkhart would engage the hyperdrive with a quick clawed hand, practically smashing it in the heat of the moment. They had a clear view of the sky before them, angling upwards but were still well within the atmosphere. It was either that or get blown into bits. The Kelborn was leaving his fate up to the cold harsh galaxy by overriding the safety protocols and allowing for an early jump. If there was time for a prayer it was now. Bloody hell if he died here he would haunt Brianna's children for such a foolish operation. If it worked then the ship would leap out of the way from the incoming missiles which would simply fly through where the shuttle had been.

Karen watched as the Sith dispatched every single star fighter that could have fit in their hanger after this one rogue run away shuttle, it was probably some Sith deserter, or something like that. Either way, it didn't matter to Karen, her mission was clear, and with all of the attention of everyone in the area Karen would have a straight shot at her intended target.

Forty five degree angle dive, the engines of the SP2 Stardancer working as hard as they could to maintain maximum velocity. When Karen heard the pop and screech of someone hitting hyperspace her eyebrow raised, the coincidence of it all was striking, they must have really needed to escape to pull a dangerous move like that...

Karen kept punching it, her right hand holding the angle steady as her left hand was working feverishly on the hyperdrive controls, no attention had been paid to her yet, and that was perfect, while they may have spotted her on the radar nothing had been done about it yet, and Karen began her descent quickly and unhindered.

images

Karen's nose was pointed directly at the temple, not a laser or missile from her payload left its place, and she trucked through the air quickly, for a moment her mind wandered, life had a way of finding a way of surviving and evil had no place in this galaxy, it was her job to show the Empire this, she would singlehandedly land a blow that would hopefully cripple the resolve of this treacherous hive of cockroaches.

She was less than a quarter mile up when she finished her hyperdrive input, the calculations weren't hard to do, only about four hundred meters, and it didn't matter if she was off, she wouldn't be making it to her destination anyway..

Karen hit the go button, the ship lurching itself into hyperspace.. A single tear dropped from her left eye, God speed rebels.. she whispered to herself.

maxresdefault.jpg

She wouldn't feel anything, a hyperspace collision into the Sith temple would likely disintegrate herself and hundreds, if not thousands of others, on impact. Her life, she would trade for the Galaxy, it wasn't a hard choice, and she imagined nearly every Jedi would make the same choice..

@Denzein @vamp @Darasuum@Algarus @Gian Greydragon

There was a sputter, and the hyperdrive controls spit smoke into the cockpit, filling it with an opaque blackness, Kriff kriff kriff!!! Karen yelled, but it was too late and the SP2 Stardancer crashed nose first into the roof of the temple, like a pop can it crumpled breaking through only a bit of the building, leaving a smashed ship no more than three feet in length inside the building, fire and smoke puttering from its corpse.

"Motherfekk—"

Those crazy bastards had engaged their hyperdrive. Gaz didn't expect them to make it, but they somehow entered hyperspace before his missiles could hit, causing them to just fly off harmlessly, probably hitting a mountain or something. He was frustrated, victory having been so close. There was an active bounty on Mandalorians, and here he had two of them ready for harvest. Now, all he had was the mental image of their ship entering hyperspace from within Korriban's atmosphere, which in itself would have been impressive if not for his growing anger.

He turned his ship around, soaring to the right on his way to the Jedi, whom he supposed would be a better target than none. The entire squadron would probably collapse on her now. The Sith was about to unleash hell on the fighter, ready to pour his anger into the ship and destroy it with his cannons, when the Jedi did the unexpectable. He wasn't sure what the kriff she was trying, but it clearly didn't work. The fighter flew directly into the Academy's walls, breaking into it a little and crumpling, killing its pilot instantly. "Fekk it," he cursed into the comms. "Anyone that wants her lightsaber can have it." He was, for once, actually angry.

Gaz flew his fighter back into the hangar, not even bothering to close the cockpit before he walked away. He glanced up at the skylights, staring at the sky above. Those Mandalorians were there somewhere. Hopefully not where they had intended. Gaz hadn't been able to kill them, but he wouldn't mind if starvation picked up where he left off and finished the job. If given the opportunity, he would try to hunt them down. If not, he would live with the assumption that they were out there, eating each other as they sailed through wild space.
