While Mikal stepped in to stop Caed and look after the woman, Aden turned away from the scene and faced the exit. As the woman walked out the door he sensed Caed within his mind once more, whispering words like before. Shaking his head he began making his way out of the cantina, using his cane to guide him through the cantina floor. He sensed a number of eyes on him as he walked towards the cantina door, the incident with the waitress having drawn some attention.

As he stepped out of the cantina he drew upon the Force and began using it to scout the area around him, compensating for his eyes with visions of the Force. He saw Caed up ahead of him, the Jedi glowing in his mind's eye more brightly than others around him. The former Bogan was not what you would call a conventional Jedi, far from it. His methods were more direct and sometimes more brutal than those expected from a Jedi, but maybe that would be a good thing in this case, at least that was the way Aden wanted to look at it. Mikal's perception of Caed's actions was what he was worried about. They all needed to work together to be successful here, they couldn't afford to have the two of them locking horns at a time like this.

So he would try to keep any friction between the two in check, ensure that the three of them worked together a a team, at least for the duration of this mission. Walking up to the alley Caed had entered, his expression neutral, he turned to face the street, observing the various beings walking to and fro. "You know, there was no reason to push that far after we had a name. If a waitress was able to give this information to us then it means that these gang members might be more sloppy than we thought. And with the name we got from her we could have easily found out more about him from other sources, by more civilized means. You got carried away, opting for the easier path."

((was drunk last night, ignore my bitching :D ))

Mikal followed along, though watching carefully the former bogan before him. "For instance, checking with the local security records. They tend to comply with Jedi rather easily..." He trailed off, though he had wanted to add 'not that you'd be used to that...'. Mikal was starting to dislike the idea of working with the former bogan. The show in the cantina was somewhat brutal, it wasn't suggestions he was placing in her mind, but forcing her to do what he wanted...it didn't set well.

"I think that will work for our next course of action, after that we'll need to stop by the childs parents, let them know we're here and working on the case."

((Hehe, all good. I do need to NPC this a bit roughly, though. Gotta keep my OOC Bogan alignment in check ;)))

The thugs stood from the table and left quietly after the three men exited the cantina. They kept their distance, staying away and having a few other civilians between them. The streets were dank and dirty, cluttered with trash and waste from the civilians that walked the streets every day. The thugs themselves tossed trash to the side when they were finished with it. It seemed very little people cared very much about keeping their streets clean.

One of the thugs overheard the Jedi speak of meeting with the child's parents, and that just confirmed what he'd suspected. They weren't just making idle chit chat with the waitress. It seemed they were looking into the case and investigating who might have done it. The bulkier thug lowered a hand to his belt, pushing the jacket back a bit and rested his hand on a blaster pistol. At the sound of the holster unclipping, the other thug reached over and smacked the bulkier across the back of the head.

"What are you, stupid? We can't do this here, not in the middle of the street. Korgal would have our heads for drawing attention to the Blackrock Gang right now. We can't have the authorities after us along with these..." he paused for a moment, fumbling for a word.

The bulkier thug raised an eyebrow in confusion and offered verbal assistance. "Detectives?" he asked.

The smaller, but still filled-out thug, stopped and stared at the bulkier one. "Shut up," he said simply, smacking the man over the back of the head again and reaching over to reholster the blaster. "For now, we follow them. Wait for Cheekin to report back to the boss, and we'll work from there," he responded, his face now absent of expression. He was of course referring to the third thug that sat with them in the cantina, who'd gone back to the hideout. "Bastard better not have left his key card again. I don't think they'll let it slide if he only has the password. You'd think by now that the guards would recognize him from the amount of times he's screwed up with security. I heard Korgal was ordering to shoot on sight if you don't flash your card when you walk up," he said, gossiping with idle chat at this point.

Caed pressed firmly against the wall, he would be met by Aden. He'd normally of looked his ally in the eyes, but due to their being shrouded in cloth his eyes stared blankly forward, listening to the Jedi's neutral words. What he spoke of was true, but there was no doubting they could have gotten to answers through her, despite his pushing.

"...I, ...understand your reasoning. I also knew the woman's limits, there's a life at stake, my friend."

He used the muscles in his back to press off the wall, continuing his momentum to face the "blind" Jedi.

"The Jedi have long sat instead of acting and it is that patience that will result in the loss of an innocent life. I did not act against the Code, even you know this.. I sense our friends actions have altered her existence far more than mine ever could."

It was then he turned to face his second ally, Mikal joining the group at long last. Looking into the Cathar's eyes it felt more as if he was standing up to the ally than standing with.

"..perhaps it is these security forces that need our aid in saving a life? You think they know any more than we have? I sense the security forces here stand hand in hand with these thugs..."

It was a smaller man whacking another upside the head that procured Caed's interest. The two seemed out of place in the upper levels, dressed in almost rags, yet somehow carrying swagger the others feared. It was the visual bond between the two men that gave them away. The Blackrock Thugs' eyes had too long focused on the small collection of Jedi and various head notions in their direction became more and more apparent as time passed. Caed would shut his mind down for the moment; his senses reached outward, using the Force to enrich his ears.

"Shut up,"

The words were followed by the same smack that had drawn Caed's attention. His enriched senses hearing the subtle sounds of blaster being holstered.

"For now, we follow them. Wait for Cheekin to report back to the boss, and we'll work from there,"

Caed's initial reaction was to attack, a feeling he quickly suppressed. Smiling at the two Jedi he'd send them each the same telepathic message.

"It would appear we're being tailed.. Two men... what shall we do?"

Aden did not flinch as he Caed pushed off from the wall and faced him. He had to keep his cool here, the three Jedi could not be quarreling amongst themselves. "I did not say that we should sit around and do nothing. But neither should we risk one life to save another. You say you knew her limits, that you were in control. Maybe you were, maybe you weren't, but you should keep in mind that it is just as easy to loose that control. One false step, no matter how small it might be, can drive one to the darkness."

As Mikal stepped up Aden stopped, not just out of any courtesy to let him speak but something else as well. Since the incident in the cantina he had been getting a sense of something amiss around them. The feeling had been getting stronger over the past few minutes, a slight tingling in the back of his mind that Aden had come to recognize as warnings from the Force. A moment ago it had flared in intensity before vanishing just as quickly.

Yes, we seem to have picked up a few strays in the cantina. This new development changed things, if these two were with the very gang they were after. If that was the case then moving fast would be in their interest. Maybe a more direct approach was what was needed after. Reaching out with his mind he spoke telepathically to his comrades again, Why not have a little meeting with our friends and find out why they are following us. Maybe they can help us in our little crusade. If need be we can try the security records after that.

Mikal continued talking to Caed, as though he was acknowledging Caed's words. "Regardless, they will have information on the blackrock gang, and Korgal. The entirety of the security forces can't be in one gangs pocket, Taris is a rather large cityscape after all." He said, explaining his reasoning. However while he was talking he sent out undercurrents of communication through the force.

"Agreed, but not here, to many people and I sense these men could prove dangerous...we keep walking till we come to a more secluded spot?"

Looking at Aden, Caed respected the mans fear of the pull of the Darkside, but he was a man who had long walked that path, and knew what it did. There was some control to the Darkside, on that was not easily controlled. However, it acted as a great ally against those who had trained him in the ways.

"I do not need a lecture on the Darkside. I assure you, both. I was more than in control of the situation."

His eyes peeked over the two thugs shoulders and down the alley that would lead to the market of their sector. Giving a soft nod of the head he start in that direction, there had to be a side street to walk down.

"I ask you not to build nerves by my being here, I'll follow the Code just as I know you will."

His final words were soft, only meant to be heard by the two men accompanying him. Whether or not anyone heard them though, mattered nothing. Few would know what the Code meant, nor what it even was; hell he barely knew it.

"There are many eyes among us, Mikal may be right..."

Caed would agree with the two, probably to both their surprise. They did need to work together to accomplish this mission, and perhaps it was best if he acted on their calls as opposed to what had just happened.

"The market I sense gives us many opportunities...in regards to these... halfwits."

Taking Caed's cue, Aden began moving in the direction of the market. Very well, we find a more secluded place to get acquainted with our friends.

As they walked on Aden kept on making of his Force sight to scout out the are in front of them. When using the technique walls and other objects appeared translucent to him, giving him an edge which would prove very advantageous in situations such as these.

As they walked on he noticed a small alley diverting from one of the many roads branching out from the main road they were walking on. The left turn ahead, there's a side alley a little way into that road that would serve our purposes perfectly.

(Was waiting to see if Zach was gonna post, guess not though :) )

Mikal spoke again after a few minutes of them walking in silence, they approached the road that Aden suggested. "Left down this way to the parents house isn't it?" He asked, and turned.

"Let's try and leave them unharmed, if we can." He stated through the force, mostly as a reminder to Caed. The Cathar wasn't so sure about him following the code, it wasn't anything personal, just reactionary given the limited interaction with the jedi knight since his return to the jedi.

Caed would make a turn down the suggested alleyway. The final thoughts imparted upon him by Mikal only brought a smirk to the former Bogan's face. Ignoring it he'd take it for what it was, a subtle comment. Looking over the alley it dead ended to a culdesac which only brought the Jedi to it's dead-end before turning to face what he hoped to be the goons.

"They're armed from what I could tell..."

Looking skyward his eyes traced over a fire escape. Using the aid of the Force he'd leap into the sky and come down almost silently on the durasteel "cage." He'd begin the ascent to the roof, which was only a matter of seconds finally crossing one building his body hugged low. The final resting place would be where they had just come from, should the two men follow them in and try an escape they'd be entrapped in the bottle neck.

The thugs moved between the other civilians walking on the street, nudging their way between people as they got closer and closer to the market district of the city. People would be in and out of their constantly, creating a bit of a crowd. The taller and more bulky of the the two thugs could keep his eye on the trio of strangers, but the shorter, stockier one would have to just follow his companion's lead.

"The ally. They turned in to it. Think they know we're following them?" the taller one asked. He glanced down at his 'friend,' since he was usually the one that told him what to do.

The shorter thug furrowed his brow for a moment and narrowed his eyes. He wondered if the trio had caught on to the two of them tailing them, but he doubted it. They hadn't turned around at all, glanced at them, nor had he heard anything between them about it. Unless they had some ability to sense them out, they were in the clear. He frowned again, at the thought that they might have had a racial advantage with sensory, but he didn't think humans or Kathar were very in tune with those kinds of senses. Maybe the cat had heard them talking, but it was unlikely with all the civilians around. "We'll follow them, but be careful. Get your blaster ready," he said, unclipping the holster that secured his own.

The two thugs approached the opening in the ally and looked down the narrow street. The taller, bulkier one saw the two men at the end and started to raise his blaster. The shorter one did the same, but narrowed his eyes before it was raised. There were only two of them. Where was the third? He raised his head to look up and opened his eyes in shock as he saw the missing stranger up above, ready to strike. There was nothing he could do in time to save himself unless the man didn't lunge down at them.

Caed's eyes narrowed on the two men from the rooftop as their own eyes began to scan over the scene. It was at that instant the Jedi Knight began to sense the curiosity in the smaller man rise. His gaze naturally went around the alley before finally looking to the rooftops. It was as the thugs gaze began his way he had to decide whether to act or have to react; the Bogan inside him answered.

Ultor would push from the dirtied rooftop with the aid of the Force, his hand taking grasp on the hilt of his lightsaber. Caed's body would cut through the sky with Force aided precision, his target being the smaller man, for now. This hiss of his own crimson blade would fill they alley, bouncing off either of the exterior building walls. It was at that instant his mind was taken over by a more.. enlightening sensation; the Jedi inside him now answered.

The crimson blade would dice through the air, its first intentions aimed to decapitate the poor bastard. Caed had decided almost last second to alter the path of the staff's top blade bringing it just centimeters above his enemies head. The continuing path put the second blade in place and with an upswing from the bottom the attack was put into motion. The result had been a decapitating motion turned into a debilitating one; the man's blaster arm. If the attack landed the man would find himself without arm from pit to collarbone...

Caed's continued momentum brought him into a roll, coming up on the balls of his feet just shy of the wall. Turning he'd face the bigger man, dropping into a defensive stance he defended the only escape from the two men. Whether or not his attack landed in crippling the man's arm it would be 3 Jedi against 2 ill-trained thugs. For the sake of the girl he hoped they surrendered, but in truth he hoped they'd continue their assault..

((EDIT: I decided to post as it made more sense with Zach's post.))

Aden had "seen" Caed climb up the building, but had kept his attention fixed on the entry to the alley, sensing the two thugs getting closer and closer. But as they entered the alley he sensed the sense of suspicion rising in the shorter of the two, possibly from the absence of Caed from their group. About to take action, Aden was forced to alter tactics as Caed jumped down and launched an attack against the shorter of the two thugs. As Caed landed behind the two men, blocking their only exit, Aden caught his staff in his hand like a warrior holds a spear and launched it at the larger thug, aiming for his weapon arm. They needed these two alive to get more information from them, and they would more likely surrender if they were "disarmed". Caed's approach being a little too extreme for his liking, he aimed to get the other goon free of his weapon. Nonetheless he drew his own lightsaber and ignited it, ready to defend against any blaster fire that may come his way.

The Cathar was aware of a shift of the blade going from different motions...Had Caed intended to decapitate that man originally? He let out a low growl, reaching for his own lightsaber, taking a defensive stance. "You can surrender or suffer further chance at harm...Your choice." He warned the two, eyes resting on the blade attempting to focus through the force, though it was considerably harder as the former Bogans actions nagged at him somewhat begging many questions.

((My bad. Been having an internet issue with my apartment. When I was out of town, a thunderstorm took out most of the power. They only just got the internet up.))

The shorter of the two watched in horror as the man shot down from the fire escape overhead. There was no time for a reaction, only the shock and horror of the inevitable ending. He expected death, a quick and easy ending, but was soon met with a sharp scalding pain in his right shoulder. He reached his left hand over to put pressure on it, to try and ease the burning, but all he met was air. He looked over to see his severed arm lying on the ground with his blaster clenched between the fingers. His eyes widened, his knees began to shake, and a wailing scream burst through the man's lips.

He'd gone into shock. There was nothing else he could do, and soon the civilians on the streets only feet away would start to investigate. The larger thug, who'd only just seen the overhead enemy, was pushed into the wall from when the Jedi landed. He saw a bright flash of light and a tearing sound, followed by a soft thud. He looked over to see that his friend's arm had somehow fallen to the ground, and that three Jedi had drawn their sabers and begun to attack. He opened his mouth dumbly, trying to think what to do. He turned to his friend, but he was too busy screaming at the top of his lungs to be aware of what was happening around him.

The larger thug turned back to the Jedi when he asked for them to surrender. He looked at the Cathar dumbly, his eyes partially glazed over at the confusion around him, his mouth open just a little further than normal. He replied with a simple, "Duhh....." not quite sure what to say.

Caed's eyes went downward to the severed limb. The hand clutching the weapon was unlike anything he'd ever quite seen before. He was a combat veteran, but rarely examined the effects. That focus broke as the man's screams filled the alley, something the Knight hadn't quite predicted with his sudden action.

"Calm yourself or lose your head."

The words were pushed into amputee's mind and his alone. As this occurred Caed offered a cooling rush to the thug's arm. The Knight was no healer so the numbing effects would only be temporary; however, long enough to break the sudden pain.

"..Hmmm."

Caed's eyes shifted from his allies to the brute he was too foolish to even speak. Taking his lack of aggression as a sign of surrender the Knight disengaged his staff and quickly hid it back within his jacket. He'd break off again from the other 2, this time heading to the alley's entrance to ward off any incoming "detectives."

Ultor would occasionally peek over his shoulder from his 'checkpoint.' Thoughts were constantly lurking on his two companions, he no doubt trusted them; but it was their trust in him he doubted. His eyes would fall back onto the street somewhat glad he broke off to allow the other two to contend with the would-be gangsters. His patience was growing thin with them as they wasted his time with petty crime, hardly worthy of a Jedi's aid, let alone 3.. Caed couldn't help but grit his teeth as his arms crossed hoping they'd get more information out of them then they had the waitress..

Aden deactivated his lightsaber and walking up to the pair began examined the shorter of the two, the taller didn't really seem like the type who they could get reliable information out of. Further up the alley he could sense Caed standing near the entrance, warding away unwanted attention. As he sensed Mikal walked up, Aden moved to where his staff lay on the floor and retrieving it returned to face the duo.

Facing the shorter of the duo, realizing time was of the essence here, he immediately began questioning him. "By now you must know who we are, what we are capable. So do you want to make this hard on yourself or help us out and make this a lot easier in everyone?" The words, uttered through his mouth were accompanied by a Force nudge, suggesting to the thug that it would be best if he helped them out.

[[Sorry for the delay, got confused about the posting order. My bad.]]
