Kieran Nomar is a Force-sensitive Human male and a member of the Jedi Order holding the rank of Padawan learner. A former citizen of the Outer Rim world, Taris, and a Tarisian refugee after the war between the Jedi Order and Sith Empire separated him from his family, he was was brought into the Jedi Order due to his sensitivity to the Force and trained in the Jedi arts. However, though he strives to be the best Jedi he can be, his rebellious spirit and desire for revenge against those who separated him from his family have sometimes put him at odds with his fellow Jedi.
Kieran was just 10-years-old when the Battle of Taris ripped his family apart and sent him fleeing from his homeworld along with thousands of other refugees. He knows nothing about what happened to his parents and siblings. Morbid rumors suggest that several transports exploded attempting to flee Taris, so he believes they could be dead; and the lack of knowing the truth has haunted Kieran ever since.
After the battle, the Jedi escorting his transport discovered his Force-sensitivity and, without a guardian to claim him, brought him to the Jedi Temple on Yavin IV for training. There, the Jedi impressed upon him that the Sith were responsible for Taris, fixing an insatiable hunger for revenge in his spirit that he was never able to quiet despite his extensive Jedi training. The desire to learn more and quicker than the other Younglings defined his early training; and while his persistence indeed made him good, it also earned him the rebuke of some of his instructors, who thought he was too hasty to advance through the ranks of the Order.
Eight years passed, and in that time Kieran proved ready to be taken by an actual Master who would complete his training, being taken under the wing of Jedi Master Kaisa Vanloa of the Jedi Council. He also selected a career path within the Order, choosing to train himself in the ways of the Jedi Justicar, the internal policing unit of the Jedi—though his master insisted on giving him a well-rounded education. Despite his rebellious spirit, he was known to have a soft heart that his instructors thought would one day make him a good Jedi, so long as he learned to control his unruly spirit. However, Taris had never left him, leaving a kernel embedded deep, waiting for a deluge to make it grow...
