DESCRIPTION
The Kihraxz assault starfighter is a combat spacecraft manufactured by TransGalMeg Industries Incorporated. Based nominally on the space-frame of the Kihraxz light starfighter, with which in shares its name, the assault starfighter is the same length, but has been bulked up in terms of armament. Like its sibling, the type was originally commissioned by Black Sun, but was also offered on the open market, where it became the mount of choice for various mercenaries, bounty hunters, gangsters, pirates and general fringers. The Kihraxz assault starfighter is 11 meters in length, and shares many systems in common with the light starfighter variant, although certain elements have been redesigned. Notably, the assault starfighter's cockpit has been moved far forward, allowing for better ground visibility for strafing runs, as well as making space for enhanced power systems, which allow the ship to drive heavy laser cannons and twin proton torpedo launchers. Top speed is 95 MGLT, reduced from the 110 of the preceding design, along with reduced maneuverability, a natural consequence of the new armament's increased bulk and weight. For this reason, the assault starfighter is not ideal for engaging other small craft, although it is an excellent anti-capital ship and anti-ground platform.
