Wow, thanks for all the responses! I'd love to do a thread with all of you at some point; all I need is to get my character approved and I can get started!

All you have to do is make a character. No approvals required!

Are you sure? Cause, when I submitted my character a little pop up appeared telling me that my post wouldn't be visible until an Admin approved it. Was that supposed to happen?

That is the spam filter. For some reason it likes to act up on new players characters. Message an admin to let them know

It flags posts with attachments or links (including images) from new users with three or less posts and hides them.

Ah i didnt know the specifics. just that it likes to tag new users
