• Name:
Edemmians.

• Biology: The Edemmians are a humanoid species, and for the most part resemble humans, with a few notable exceptions. Their most obvious differences is the they have a pair of tall and pointy furry ears, not dissimilar from those of a loth-cat located at the top of their head, sticking out from their otherwise human-like face and human-like hair. Another obvious difference is that their arms, from the elbow and down to their clawed fingertips, are covered in a layer of short, but thick, and rich fur that matches their hair colour. Their legs are similarly clad in fur from the knees down, but instead of humanoid feet, Edemmians sport large paws that gives excellent traction on loose sand.

The last, and perhaps most obvious, visual difference between an Edemmian and a baseline human, is that the adult Edemmian sports between three to six long and fluffy tails, again, not dissimilar from those of a loth-cat but in far greater numbers. An Edemmian is born with only one tail, with the rest growing in as they grow up. The growth of the second tail is a sign that the Edemmian in question has entered puberty, and is no longer considered a child. The arrival of their third tail is a sign that the Edemmian has reached adulthood, with all the duties and responsibilities that might entail.

Outwardly, Edemmians display the same level of sexual dimorphism as humans, but their differences go beyond that of humans. Edemmian males are by their very nature more shortsighted, hotheaded, and aggressive compared to your baseline human, whereas the females possesses a mentality that is more akin to your average humans. The females possesses one ability that sets them apart from their male counterparts. Within their many tails, a female Edemmian possesses glands that produce pheromones which acts as a mild relaxant to their cantankerous males, soothing their hot tempers. These pheromones also acts as a mild aphrodisiac to their males, but has an even more potent effect upon non-Edemmians of both sexes, not unlike certain species known for their pheromones, such as the Zeltron and the Falleen.

• Subspecies: No.

• Sentience: Yes.

• Breeding: Edemmians breed like most species, through sexual intercourse between a male and a female. Like all mammals, the female Edemmians produces milk in their breasts, which sustains their offspring for the first year or so of it’s life. Edemmians give birth to a litter of cubs, with the average being around four. Anything less than three cubs in a single birthing is usually seen as a bad birth and a bad omen. Unlike most species however, Edemmians are by their very nature polygamous and bisexuality is also the norm rather than the exception, meaning that your average Edemmian family usually contains several breeding adults and their cubs, with each adult sharing the responsibility of raising the many children. Due to the strain of feeding so many cubs, a pregnant Edemmian's pheromones changes to trigger lactation in any Edemmian female that inhales said pheromones over a period of two weeks, allowing every female of an Edemmian female to help feed the newborn cubs.

• Strengths: Desert adaptation, females produce mind-influencing pheromones. Edemmians of both sexes have superior hearing and olfactory senses than humans, somewhat sharper teeth than humans that can in an emergency situation be used as weapons, claw-like nails that can be used as weapons, but hardly more dangerous than those of a moderately sized house cat.

• Weaknesses: Males are aggressive and short of temper, slightly poorer night vision, smaller on average to humans, otherwise the same weaknesses as humans.

• Diet: Edemmians are omnivores, and are willing and able to consume both flora and fauna as food sources, but they have a preference towards meat. Edemmians also grow a plant which produces both a spice that is common in their cuisine and a nectar that is brewed into a potent intoxicating beverage.

• Behavior/Temperament: Female Edemmians possesses the same range of behaviors and temperament as most humans and near-human species, but their males tend to be rather more aggressive and short-tempered than most humanoid species when not around the calming presence of a female Edemmian. Despite this aggression and a lack of patience, male Edemmians are no less intelligent than their females or any other species. They are simply more prone to aggressive and violent outbursts.

• Communication: Edemmians vocalize like most creatures, by moving air through vocal chords and producing noise from their mouths. They speak a language of their own known as Edemese, but they are quite capable of learning how to speak Basic and read and write Aurebesh and several other galactic languages, such as Huttese. Written Edemese uses it's own particular alphabet, which is comprised of various pictograms and glyphs.

• Culture: The Edemmians have an ancient culture that they have clung to in a stubborn fashion for countless years. In fact, at first glance, one would think their culture hadn't advanced beyond an early feudal stage with simple metallurgy, but this is due to how they cling to their ancient tradition and culture. Every single aspect of new technology is quickly disguised and made to merge as seamlessly as possible with the aesthetics of their culture.

Their architecture tends to be cyclopean in style, with colossal pyramid-shaped structures rearing up to, and often piercing, the skies above. And even these monolithic structures, though they might have been built only last week and bristle with the most advanced technology available, are styled and clad to appear as if they were raised thousands of years ago, using only the most basic of primitive tools. Even something as simple as modern day street lighting is made to appear as torch-lit pillars of red sandstone. The only exceptions to this merging of aesthetics and functional technology are military equipment and vehicles, where their functionality supersedes any concerns for aesthetics.

The root of this adherence to culture comes partially from the Edemmians deep and rich spiritual life, with several deities and lesser spirits, including a belief of worshiping one’s ancestors. Their chief deity, Elassah of the nine tails, is also held to be the mother of the entire Edemmian species. Edem’s singular moon, Rallac, and it’s equally singular sun, Ellgoran, are still held to be gods to this day, despite their deep scientific understanding of the cosmos. The Edemmians’ spiritual views have changed slightly as their scientific understanding expanded. Instead of rigidly clinging to their old beliefs, they now view Elgarron as the God OF Suns, the embodiment of suns, and the same with Ralloc, and Elassah the Mother Goddess (because of evolution) as the incarnation of life itself, it's amazing ability to exist everywhere, even in the depths of space.

The chief origin myth of the Edemmian faith is that Elassah, their Mother Goddess, grew tired of seeing Edem as a barren lifeless rock caught in the eternal battle between Ellgoran and Rallac, and so summoned the two brothers to her palace. There, she drew the bright and golden Ellgoran and the dark and mysterious Rallac to her bedchambers, and bedded them both for three nights and three days. When Rallac and Ellgoran discovered that Elassah was with child, the twins threw themselves at one another, each wanting to prove that they were the father. But as the brothers waged war in the heavens, Elassah went down to Edem and spread life wherever she went, and eventually gave birth to the first Edemmians. When she returned to her palace in the heavens, the brothers noticed that she had given birth, and that Edem was now full of life. As neither brother could know whom had sired the Edemmians, Elassah commanded that only one of them could visit her children at the time, giving Ellgoran the right to visit during the day, and Rallac during the night.

The lakes of Edem, around which the Edemmians built their cities, are considered sacred places, beyond simply being practical and the only places where they could live. They believe that each lake is where Elassah dug a pit in which to sleep when she walked across Edem and spread life across the world, and that these pits filled with water as a gift from their Mother to Her children.

The Edemmians view Rallac and Ellgoran as harsh fathers, as both seek to test the Edemmians to prove that surely they must belong to one of them, as only a child of Ellgoran could withstand the blistering heat of his glory, or that only a child of Rallac could navigate his darkness or withstand the bitter cold of Ellgoran’s absence, with Elassah making sure that neither go too far. When a natural disaster strikes Edem, it is viewed as Rallac or Ellgoran slipping by Elassah’s vigil, to throw a particularly nasty challenge at their children.

The Edemmians believe the Force to be a gift from Elassah, as she is the Mother Goddess and the incarnation of life itself. For the energy of the Force surrounds all things, and binds together all living beings as one. And those Gifted by Elassah can truly see that living creatures are luminous beings, rather than crude matter.

Those Edemmian Force Sensitives that fall to the Dark Side are said to have been swayed by Jasocch, the Deceiver, the Lord of Thirst. He is the main villainous figure within the Edemmian pantheon. He came from the Outside, and was jealous of the Edemmians. He saw how they lived, and wanted to hurt them. So he and his ilk began to trick Edemmians as they crossed the desert, making them see things that weren't there, leading them astray into the depths of the dunes, and away from the safety of Elassah's sacred lakes, leading them in circles until they succumbed to thirst. So it is with those that have fallen to the Dark Side, they have sold their souls to Jasocch for power, for dark and tainted knowledge, and he deceive them, granting them power and dark and profane knowledge, in exchange for their immortal souls, so he might one day challenge Elassah directly.

As one can expect due to the nature of the Edemmian males and their relationship with their females and their origin myth, the Edemmians are a matriarchy. While any Edemmian male can rise to great heights and power within any aspect of their civilization and culture, be it social, political, scientific, military, or religious, they can never stand on top, and they can never stand alone. Even the greatest and most respected male must have a female by his side, so his mind can be kept calm by the female's pheromones. The leader of the Edemmian Government bears the title of First, signifying she is the first among the children of Elassah, while the religious leader of the Edemmians is called the Ascended.

Edemmians are as a race adrenaline junkies, and love to engage in activities that gets their hearts pumping and the adrenaline flowing. As a result, a surprisingly large number of Edemmians are racers, or at least aficionados of the sport. This can be any form of racing, be it a rally across the dunes of Edem, hoverboards, anti-grav circuits, or in the depths of space itself. However, their adrenaline addiction isn’t limited to simply racing. Anything that gets the adrenaline flowing is appealing to an Edemmian, whether it be martial arts, combat, mountain climbing, or anything else. Now, this could easily lead them to various unsavoury activities, but most try to keep it to some form of sport or another… and to lead many Edemmian starship captains to also dabble in smuggling.

• History: The Edemmians evolved upon Edem from a small and social vulpine creature several thousands of years ago. As they embraced sentience, and began to develop tools and cities, they quickly realized that there was little beyond their lakes. For each lake was seperated by several hundred of miles of desert, making any crossing of the desert exceptionally difficult, if not impossible, before they invented steam engines. And even then, the various Edemmian cities, isolated from one another by hundreds of miles of inhospitable and seemingly endless deserts, had no way of knowing that there was anything out there to find.

That all changed when the first Edemmian flying machines were developed. These avian-shaped vehicles could soar upon the warm winds of Edem for countless miles, and eventually, the Edemmians became aware of one another. When they learned of the existence of yet more Edemmians, living around yet another lake, the Edemmians did not react with fear or violence, but instead embraced their long lost brothers and sisters. As Edemmian technology advanced, keeping in contact with the various cities became easier, and eventually, as they began harnessing the plasmic core of their world, along with the abundant solar and wind power, they began to network their lake-cities through an increasingly advanced and efficient network of railways.

Not long after the establishment of the railway network, the largest city, which of course surrounded the largest lake of Edem, Nesharra, was unanimously voted to become the capitol city of a unified Edem, with Nesharra's Council Head being named the First, and given the right to rule Edem. Shortly after Edem became unified beneath the First, the Edemmians developed their first, crude, hyperdrive and began to explore the space outside the Ellgoran system and their home nebula, bringing them into contact with the greater galaxy, and the Republic.

• Planet: Edem is a ringed desert world of average size, roughly the same as Corellia or Naboo, located within a deep space nebula, which the Edemmians call "The Palace of Elassah". At first glance one could be forgiven for thinking that Edem closely resembles Geonosis, as it is a world covered from pole to pole in rusty red sand and equally red stone, but differs from that world due to of a series of massive freshwater lakes, around which you find the only habitable and green areas. Not surprisingly, it is around these lakes the Edemmians have built their cities, with their cyclopean and colossal pyramids.

Edem, like Naboo, possesses a plasmic molten outer core which surrounded an inner core, believed to be composed primarily of a nickel-iron alloy, with very small amounts of some other elements. The plasmic magma "seethes and bubbles" from the center of the planet carving labyrinths of winding tunnels and caverns similar to lava tubes of traditional magma flows. These abyssal labyrinths were submerged in great underground oceans, which connected to the lakes on Edem's surface. This means that each lake is, although distantly, connected to every other lake on Edem thanks to these abyssal labyrinths, giving them a far richer biodiversity than should be possible for individual lakes isolated by several hundred miles.

The special properties of Edem's plasmic outer core, which it also shares in common with Naboo, also gives the Edemmians an endless supply of clean and renewable energy, along with the solar and wind power it has in abundance.

• Technology: The Edemmians possesses technology equal to that of the rest of the galaxy, though they are experts at merging said technology with old fashioned aesthetics. Much of the Edemmians' planetary technology is powered by tapping their plasmic outer core.

• Notable PCs: Zae Tannarah, Nerrane Valloren.

• Intent: To create a new species for a future character, and to add to the richness of SWRP, as well as potential plot pieces and twists in the future.

How does a girl from Edem end up as a Bounty Hunter in the greater galaxy, you ask? Well, the thing you gotta understand is that nearly all of us Edemmians are addicted to adrenaline highs. We love the thrill of a risk, when your heart is doing a hundred parsecs a second, when you can feel your blood rushing through your body, when the hair on the back of your neck stands on edge, and everything just seems to slow down, making time crawl along like it's caught in molasses. We love it. I love it. The long and short of it is, I'm here because I'm an incurable adrenaline junkie. And nothing gives you a better thrill than the hunt!

PERSONALITY
[fancybox2]
1-logo-star-wars-the-old-republic-imperial-agent-glow_design.png
As one can expect from a woman that has risen to the esteemed position of being on the council of the Bounty Hunters' Guild, Zae Tannarah is a consummate professional, and when the situation requires it, a stone cold killer. However, while she is in the sometimes grim and ruthless business of bounty hunting, she does not kill needlessly, nor does she take any form of perverse joy in the act. Indeed, like a true professional, she always prefers to take in her targets alive whenever the contract will permit it, even if it does mean a smaller payout on occasion.

Zae truly believes in the cause of the Bounty Hunters' Guild, and does indeed view herself as a genuine agent of law and justice. As such, she is always keen on working with the various law-enforcement agencies across the many client worlds of the Republic, be it the fabled CorSec, the CSF, or even the Jedi. Because of this view, Zae always tries her best, perhaps more than some of her fellow Guild-members, to uphold the laws of the Republic on her hunts. However, she is still willing to take contracts from private citizens, corporations, and even the odd Underworld contract. Principles doesn't fill a hungry belly.

Despite her views on law enforcement, and her desire to uphold the laws of the Republic, they are a secondary concern compared to the Hunters' Creed, and the rules of the Guild. These, she follows unwaveringly, holding them as close to her heart as her native Edemmian faith and her belief in Elassah, the Mother Goddess.

BIOGRAPHY
[fancybox2]
latest
Zae was born and raised on Edem, and more specifically, in the city of Nesharra, the capitol city of the red planet. Growing up, Zae was surrounded by literally a dozen siblings, and while her parents did their very best to keep them all contained and calm, Zae, being part of the oldest litter, frequently took it upon herself to help the adults in that task, keeping her siblings in line.

As her third tail sprouted, and she by definition reached adulthood, Zae enlisted in the Edemmian Defence Corps, where she served her people and the office of the First for five years. During those five years, she rose to the rank of Captain, and earned the command of her own starship, the Hellion. After her tour was up, Zae decided to muster out of the Corps, and according to Edemmian tradition, bought her beloved ship from the Corps.

During her service, Zae came into contact with members of the galaxy outside the nebula in which Edem and the rest of the Ellgaron system is hidden. Most of these outsiders were smugglers, pirates, and other criminals using the nebula as a place to hide, or to launch ambushes upon nearby trading lanes, but some were legitimate businessmen and emissaries from the Republic. The contact with these aliens and outsiders intrigued the young captain, so when she mustered out with the Hellion, she eagerly went out into the greater galaxy to explore it's wonders.

Zae soon found that the easiest way to make a living for herself in the galaxy was by applying the skills she learned in the EDC, and soon enough became a bounty hunter. Not only could she now make a living for herself by hunting down criminals and the unwanted sorts of the galaxy, but it also sated the near instinctive craving for adrenaline highs that most of her species shared. But Zae never felt comfortable working as a lone agent, essentially nothing more than a mercenary, a vigilante. So, after she'd made a name for herself in the world of bounty hunting, she quickly joined the Bounty Hunters' Guild, where she would be a genuine law-enforcement agent. Within the Guild she blossomed, quickly becoming one of their top hunters, and earning a seat on their Council.

Name:
Edem.

Coordinates: N-9.

Climate: As Edem is a desert world, one would be safe in the assumption that it's primary climate is hot and arid, with the most common weather pattern being blistering and unrelenting sunlight, which is then followed by severely cold nights. In the deep desert, the temperature will frequently swing from approximately 45 degrees Standard during the day, to a negative 37 - 39 degrees during the nights.

The temperatures near the lakes that houses the majority of the Edemmian civilization however, are much more stable, ranging from the mid to high thirties during the day, and between ten to fifteen during the night. This is due to the abyssal labyrinths crisscrossing Edem's crust, which are heated by it's plasmic outer core, the waters giving off just enough heat to keep the areas near the lakes from growing too cold during the nights.

Once every eight months, enough moisture gathers in the atmosphere to create a rainstorm that lasts for exactly nine days, which is also how long a week lasts in the Edemmian calendar. Due to it's nature as a desert world, sandstorms and coriolis winds are sadly not an uncommon event, and can be deadly to anyone caught in their path if they aren't properly prepared. It's not an exaggeration when the Edemmians claim that the coriolis storms of Edem can strip the meat of your bones within minutes.

Terrain: At first glance one could be forgiven for thinking that Edem closely resembles Geonosis, as it is a desert world covered from pole to pole in rusty red sand and equally red stone, but differs from that world due to of a series of massive freshwater lakes, around which you find the only habitable and green areas. Not surprisingly, it is around these lakes the Edemmians have built their cities, with their cyclopean and colossal pyramids. Due to the extreme distances that separates each lake, the terrain and the terrestrial flora that each individual lake supports vary wildly. Nesharra, the largest lake and home to the Edemmian capitol, is located close to the equator, and is home to a bewildering array of tropical plants, and even a few miles of green pastures due to irrigation laid out by the local inhabitants, with particle shields keeping the desert at bay. Other lake-cities possesses their own unique ecosystems and terrains.

Edem's deserts seem at first rather featureless, but venture a few miles from the inhabited lakes, and you will find massive canyons and gorges, tall plateaus and vast mountain ranges, along with seemingly endless seas of rust red sand.

Rotation: Edem possesses a standard day/night cycle, and a full planetary rotation takes 28.0024957 Galactic Standard hours. Edem takes 391 Galactic Standard days to orbit it's sun, Ellgoran.

Inhabitants: The dominant species of Edem are the sentient Edemmians, an advanced humanoid species. Edem is however full of life, most of which have evolved to survive on the harsh conditions of the red desert world. A notable creature being the Moondrakes, large, non-sentient, nocturnal, carnivorous quadrupeds.

Resources:
Edem possesses a rare plasmic molten outer core that surrounds a solid inner core. This core of molten plasma gives the Edemmians easy access to an endless source of clean, renewable, and reliable energy. As one can surmise from the redness of Edem's rocks and sands, the planet is extremely rich in iron ore. Edem is also home to a flower which produces a unique spice that is popular in Edemmian cuisine, and can also be brewed into a potent alcoholic beverage.

Government: Edem is governed by the Matriarchy of the Edemmians, the leader of said Matriarchy being known as the First. Edem is aligned with the Republic.

Economy: Edem has a strong and flourishing free market, with a minimum of government interference. The few regulations set in place by the government of the First are mostly set in place to ensure a fair and open competition for the local Edemmian companies, and to ensure that the consumers aren't being abused.

Two notable corporate giants on Edem are Moondrake Engineering, their leading designer of Starbirds and deep space technology with a long standing contract with the Edemmian Defence Corps, and Sentinel Arms, their leading producer and designer of firearms and personal defensive armaments and devices, also the main supplier of the Edemmian Defence Corps.

Over the last few years, Edem has slowly been changing it's currency to incorporate Republic Credits.

Technology: The Edemmians possesses technology equal to that of the rest of the galaxy, though they are experts at merging said technology with old fashioned aesthetics. Much of the Edemmians' planetary technology is powered by tapping their plasmic outer core.

Satellites: Edem possesses a single moon, named Rallac, as well as a set of asteroidal rings orbiting the planet.

History: Edem was formed 4.21 billion years ago, along with the rest of the planets of the Ellgoran system, while the star was still in it's infancy. As it formed and cooled, developing it's rather unique core and internal structure, it's singular moon, Rallac, and it's planetary rings were formed along with it, giving Edem it's rather striking appearance.

The Edemmians evolved upon Edem from a small and social vulpine creature several thousands of years ago.

Notable PC's: Zae Tannarah, Nerrane Valloran.

Intent: In short, to add to the richness of SWRP, and because the Edemmian species required a homeworld. I created Edem to be another planet that joined the Republic, and quite recently at that, allowing us (and me) to explore what a brand new member of the Republic would experience, especially as war and tough times start to influence the Republic and it's members. And of course, there is nothing to say that Edem will remain with the Republic...

NERRANE VALLOREN

AGE: 38.
SPECIES: Edemmian.

HEIGHT: 1.65 Meters.
WEIGHT: 74 Kg.

EYE COLOR: Dark grey.
HAIR COLOR: Crimson.
SKIN COLOR: Tan Caucasian.
MARKINGS: Six tails, voluptuous figure, white-tipped ears and tails, long hair.

FACTION: Galatic Republic.
RANK: Senator.

Honoured senators, noble representatives, and respected ambassadors! It is with great pride, yet the utmost humility that I stand before you today, as the first senator to represent Edem and the Ellgoran system within the Galactic Senate! It is my hope, my empassioned dream, that Edem will become as synonymous with the Republic as such honoured worlds as Alderaan, Anaxes, or Corellia! It is my wish that in the years to come, Edemmian spice wine will be as popular as Corellian wine, that Moondrake Engineering will sit alongside such corporate giants as Kuat Drive Yards and BlasTech! And all in the name of the glorious Republic! I give my personal thanks to every single one of you, senators, for allowing Edem membership into the Republic. You will not regret it.

Senator Valloren is a true believer. She believes in the teachings of Elassah, knowing several of their legends, myths, and teachings by heart. She also believes just as firmly in democracy, free speech, free and fair trade, and equality of justice. It is one of the many reasons she entered the world of politics.

That said however, she is hardly a naive idealist. Having spent years both as a politician and working in the corporate world back on Edem, she knows how to work the system, and how badly it can be twisted and broken. It has also left her with a shrewd sense for opportunity, and an awareness of how to work the system to achieve the best possible outcome for herself and Edem.

Like most Edemmians, Nerrane loves a good thrill, but she isn't quite as adventurous as some of her kinsmen. Instead of engaging in risky behaviour, she prefers watching a good race or a holo-thriller. Of course, her adrenaline craving is also sated by particularly heated debates and spirited arguments on the Senate floor. In addition to this, Senator Valloren is also an avid fencer, and keeps a vibrorapier in her residence, as well as in her senate office.

BIOGRAPHY

Galacticrepublic_logo_zpspvk9g3sb.png
The Edemmian that would eventually grow up to become Senator Nerrane Valloren was born in the northern lake-city of Gettanos, which is located in particularly rocky and mountainous region of Edem. Like most Edemmians, she grew up in a large and family, with several parents and even more siblings. Nerrane's biological mother was a priestess, and two of her other parents both worked for Moondrake Engineering, as an engineer and an executive respectively, so her world view was rather nuanced growing up. She learned the ways of the Edemmian faith, she saw the honest labor of the working class, and witnessed the ways of corporate politics firsthand.

As she entered adolesence, with her second tail growing in, Nerrane apprenticed to her father, the Moondrake executive, and learned the ways of the corporate world. Most of her teenage years were spent learning the intricacies of Moondrake's systems, learning how they interacted with other companies, and the Edemmian government. She learned that despite the Edemmian ways of looking out for their employees and respecting their ancient culture, traditions, and faith, the bottom line at Moondrake Engineering was their profit statement. Everything else was secondary.

However, Nerrane found that working at Moondrake wasn't what thrilled her. She didn't have her father's drive for seeing the company succeed, nor did she have her second mother's joy in working with her hands and designing new starbirds. She could have joined the Faith, like her biological mother, but while she did truly believe, and loved the Gods, she didn't feel the drive to become a Priestess. Instead, as her third tail sprouted, Nerrane entered the world of politics. At first she served a minor role in Gettanos' local politics, but was eventually elected to represent Gettanos in the High Circle at Nesharra, where she would represent the interests of Gettanos to the First herself, and the representatives of the other cities of Edem.

Eventually, as Edem gradually became aware of the greater galaxy and the Republic beyond their home nebula, the First selected the most skilled and devoted member of her High Circle, and chose her to represent Edem within their Senate, and broker Edem's entry into that most august body of planets. So it was that Edem entered the Republic, and Nerrane Valloren became Edem's first Senator to the Galactic Republic.

VARRENA MORREN

You ask me how I can believe in Gods in this day and age, rather than your own view of science and the 'Force'? I believe, because I see proof of their existence everywhere I turn. We do not shun science, nor do we believe it conflicts with our faith. In fact, with each scientific discovery we make, we come to understand the will of Elassah even further, we know her design to be even greater and more wonderful than we could have possibly imagined.

Even in the depths of space you can see her great plan unfold. Look at the stars, the givers of life. Even they are, in essence, living beings. They are born from the expelled mass of other, long dead, stars, they grow and change with age, they consume fuel like any other living creature, and then finally, they die in a blaze of unmatched glory, and in so doing, spread the seeds of all life across the galaxy. It is the ultimate expression of Elassah's will.

Like most Edemmians, Varrena genuinely believes in Elassah and the other gods of their people. But unlike most Edemmians, Varrena happens to be what non-Edemmians refer to as "Force Sensitive", and what the Edemmians refer to as 'Exalted'. As a result of this, and the fact that the Edemmians believe the Force to be a Gift from their Mother Goddess, Varrena's faith is all but unshakable. Varrena can literally feel the presence of the Gods, feel their power flowing through her, and glowing within all living things.

Varrena lives in some ways like an ascetic monk, where she seeks to prove the bond between her and her Gods through physical ordeals, and calling upon the Gift to sustain her and to see her through these trials. One of these trials includes the Path of the Drallare, where she walks through the vast swathes of desert that separates one Edemmian lake city from another, bringing no food, and only a single canteen of water. She believes that through these grueling tests and ordeals, she can purify herself and prove her devotion to the Gods, and Elassah in particular.

But, with some of that classic Edemmian pragmatism, she also knows that by pushing herself to her most extreme limits, she is able to discover exactly what she is and isn't capable of, with and without the Gift to support her. And it is, of course, another way for her to satisfy her species' universal craving for adrenaline rushes.

Varrena grew up in an ordinary home on Edem, with a perfectly ordinary family in Nesharra, the capitol city of the aforementioned planet. One of Varrena's fathers belonged to a very select group of people on Edem, namely the Grove Tenders.

On Edem, when one passes away, your remains are gathered up and buried in one of the many funeral groves that grow on the shores of the twelve lakes, and the sapling of a fruit-bearing tree is planted on top of your relatively shallow grave. In death, you help a new life grow, and as the sapling grows, it will in turn feed future generations. As such, being a Grove Tender is an honourable and noble profession, part gardener and part priest.

Growing up, Varrena frequently accompanied her father in his work, and assisting as much as a one-tailed pup could. One day, a couple of months before the sprouting of her second tail, Varrena witnessed the burial of an Exalted. Granted, while working with her father, she'd seen several burials over the years, but the death of an Exalted was a decidedly rare thing.

Instead of having a sapling planted over their shallow grave, the staff of the fallen exalted is planted there instead. And as Varrena watched, the staff immediately began to sproutand grow, sinking roots into the earth, branches and leaves extending from the upper half of the wooden weapon that had been carried by the deceased Exalted through all of her adult life. Unlike the rest of the trees in the Grove however, those marking the resting sites of an Exalted were exclusively tended to by other Exalted, which meant that her father never brought the young Varrena to tend to the staff tree.

But ever since watching it be planted, she'd always felt herself drawn to that specific tree. So, one day when her father was occupied tending to one of the other trees, Varrena snuck away from his supervision, occupied though it was, and sought out the special staff tree she'd felt so drawn towards. While the tree was in perfect health, and had plenty of foliage and a deep and rich root system, it had yet to bloom, and the Exalted always spoke in hushed tones near it, their ears drooping. Clearly the chosen children of Elassah had some concerns about her special tree.

As she approached the tree, she only felt that pull become stronger and stronger. Soon enough, her body was moving as if on it's own as she got closer and closer to the tree, until she could reach out and let her fuzzy fingers brush against the smooth, hard, wooden surface of the staff-turned-tree. In that moment, her universe expanded beyond her own wildest dreams. It was suddenly as if she could understand some of Elassah's grand design, see the very fabric of life as it unfolded around her. She could see it pulsate within her father tending to his duties, within herself, and especially within the tree before her.

Description: The Hellion is a Starbird originally created for the Edemmian Defence Corps. Unlike the Sunskimmers available for civilian use, the Hellion saw active duty within the EDC, captained by Commander Zae Tannarah. When Commander Tannarah mustered out of active service, she bought the Hellion from the Corps, as tradition dictates. She had spent several years piloting the Skunskimmer-class Starbird, and had shed her blood on numerous occasions within it. As such, it's military components were never removed.

As a dedicated combat and patrol vessel of the EDC, the Hellion can somewhat outperform her civilian counterparts, both when it comes to firepower, speed, and shield strength, which suits Zae's needs as a Bounty Hunter perfectly. That said, she did have it modified somewhat in order to better accomplish her goals, by adding magnetic clamps to the landing gears, a ventral plasma cutter, and a boarding tube, allowing her to board and infiltrate far larger vessels without bothering with hangar bays or docking ports.

I am a Jedi.

What does it mean to be a Jedi? I could tell you that it means to follow the Jedi Code, to protect and serve the citizens of the galaxy, to fight on behalf of those whom can not fight for themselves, to follow the ways of the Force. But all of that would be an oversimplification. A Jedi is all those things, and at the same time, both more, and less.

I am a Jedi. I am the Force made flesh.

Everyone that's ever met Kiro could probably attest to the fact that she is not the kind of Jedi whom could happily sit for hours and merely meditate. The fact is that even when she's patient and calm, she needs to find some way to stimulate her mind. But whether it is because or despite this fact, Kiro is a very sensitive person when it comes to others around her, picking up on their emotional state of mind with ease, as well as having a keen awareness of her surroundings.

Despite her sensitivity, Kiro doesn't mince words, and tends to speak plainly and straight from the gut, rather than beating about the bush. If she observes someone behaving in a way that she finds contrary to the path of the Jedi, or acting in such a way, she will confront them about it, and none too subtly either. One habit neither the Jedi Order, or even Master Morrigan could break Kiro away from, was her simple, farm-bred, pragmatism. Much like her manner of speaking, she will usually go for the most straight forward, bare bones, and simple solution possible to even the most complicated question. This doesn't mean she jumps to conclusions however, for her former Master taught her to think carefully, and to view a problem from many different angles before acting, and to look beyond both the present, and to peer "between the lines" of any given situation.

When it comes to the Jedi Order, Kiro is loyal to the order into which she was sworn, and viewing herself as a Jedi first and foremost. She truly believes the Jedi to be a positive presence within the galaxy, and that a true Jedi is the embodiment of the will of the Force.

BIOGRAPHY
[fancybox2]

Unlike most Jedi, Kiro was not taken into the Jedi Order at a young age, nor was she born into the order, like some. The fact is that Kiro was born on a backwater farming world, in an isolated corner of the Outer Rim, where she grew up with her family, helping them tend to their flocks of nerf on the wind-swept and rocky little island that was their home. She spent her first twelve years with her family, raising nerf, herding the beasts, keeping them safe from predators, climbing over rocks and swimming in the sea in the summer months. And when winter came, it was time for the whole family to huddle up together in their long and somewhat crude stone and wooden house for warmth, where she learned the stories of her people.

Eventually, however, a Jedi finally came to Gaoth, and quickly discovered Kiro to be Force Sensitive. However, life on Gaoth wasn't that simple, and Kiro's family were loath to let her go, even if they understood that it would be for her benefit. Honour first had to be satisfied. So Kiro's father, Tàirnich, dueled the Knight whom had come to whisk the young girl away to the stars. Obviously, Tàirnich lost, but honour had been satisfied. And to help the family, the Jedi left behind his ship's loader droid, one that would make their harvests and lives a little easier, as he and Kiro left Gaoth behind forever.

Once she arrived at the Order, the first thing the Jedi taught Kiro, along with how to simply sense the presence of the Force, was to read and write Aurebesh, and how to speak Basic. With that out of the way, she proved to be a model student, and a quick study. She spent most of her first three years in the Archives on Tython, catching up due to the nine or so years she would ordinarily have spent as a Youngling. But thankfully, she was a quick study, as previously mentioned, so it didn't take long for the Council to consider her ready to become a Padawan. She completed the Gathering on Ilum and constructed her unique lightsaber shortly before being selected by the Jedi whom would become her Master.

Kiro's Master was a great and wise Jedi Master by the name of Morrigan Moden, a woman whom taught her how to be a true a Jedi. Not only did Morrigan teach her how to become more than adept with a lightsaber and how to channel the Force, the importance of the Light, and the dangers of the Dark Side, but Morrigan also taught the young Dobhran-Eilean the importance of critical thinking, and to look between the lines of the Jedi Code, to find their true meaning. It was in no small part due to Morrigan's training that the young and scruffy-looking nerf-herder from an unknown backwater was knighted after ten years as a Padawan.

LIGHTSABER
[fancybox4="http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/d/d0/Lava_Crystal.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20100105170349"]
Like most Lightsabers, Kiro's is as unique as it's wielder. Not only does it follow an ancient design and sports an emitter array with two side vents which creates two smaller plasma blades in addition to the primary blade, giving it a cross-guard section, but the blade, and it's vents, are a hot orange rather than the far more common blue of her fellow Knights, or the somewhat common green, usually found in the more scholarly Jedi.

The unusually coloured blade is, like all other lightsaber blades, a result of the kyber crystal being influenced by Kiro's somewhat unusual personality. She is not martially focused like most Knights, she is not of a scholarly persuasion, nor is she obsessed with secrets or defending the Temples like the Guardians. Her talents lie elsewhere, and as such, Kiro's kyber crystal produces an orange blade after it was bonded with the Padawan.

Kiro's lightsaber also sports a blade power adjustment knob, allowing the weapon to enter a non-lethal training session, a bifurcating cyclical-ignition pulse which allows it to work underwater, and a heavy pommel cap with a backup energy cell. In addition to having a backup energy cell, the pommel cap is also quite sturdy and heavy, making it an excellent, non-lethal, bludgeoning tool.

Another oddity of Kiro's lightsaber is the fact that the majority of the hilt isn't forged from metal, but is instead hewn from granite. The weapon's emitter array with the side-vents however, is forged from durasteel with a phirk coating.

We're mercs, just like a dozen companies on Mandalore alone. I don't believe in no stinking gods, nor does Mandalore need 'em. I have my own 'holy trinity'. Detonite, beryllium, and my naughty little baby, Baradium 375. It's those three that I pray to. It's those three that decide if I live or die. Them, the skills of my own two hands, and dumb luck. Now, either buy me another drink or go find another nerf to kiss.

Ricca. It sounds sweet, doesn’t it? A soft, charming, playful little name. A name that is pleasing to the ear. A name that you enjoy murmuring. A name you want to whisper in ecstasy. The name you want to hear at the last, before the darkness takes you.

Ricca is a title, not a true name. It is an ancient poison, known to the most erudite of Sith. It is created by fermenting the red berries of the blood lotus flower, which grows only in certain swamps on Dromund Kaas, places where great massacres has occured, and the Dark Side festers strongly.

Ricca is the name I recieved from my Lord when I cast off my past. Ricca is what I am. Ricca is all that I am. I am poison.

[fancybox4="http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/6/62/StupidSithEmblem-Traced-TORkit.svg/revision/latest?cb=20110601202159"]Ricca is, unquestionably, a patriot and a fanatic, as is evidenced by the fact that she has given up her identity completely in order to serve the Sith Order, and the newly formed Empire. Contrary to how most Sith view emotions and passion, Ricca is of the belief that one’s emotions must be held under the tightest of control. While passion is as important to her as other Sith, she refuses to allow her emotions to rule or consume her. She believes that only through control as strict as that of any Jedi, can one truly harness the power of the Dark Side.

She is equally unorthodox when it comes to combat, as she prefers to use her own hands, feet, and other more conventional weapons before resorting to drawing her lightsaber. But despite her unorthodox philosophies and methodology, she is a true believer in the Sith cause, and will happily lay down her life for the Empire.

BIOGRAPHY
[fancybox4="http://i.imgur.com/wChcQ3D.png?1"]A young chiss was born on Tund roughly three decades ago. She was born to simple farmers, who struggled to make a living on the jungle planet. Her life on her parents’ farm was a simple existence, where they lived hand-to-mouth, while fighting back the encroaching jungle.

Then came the Day of Deliverance. The day the Sith came to Tund. It was a day of fire, a day of chaos, and a day of blood. The Sith purged the Jedi missionaries and any who dared to stand before them. Then came the moment of awakening.

Cain, he whom had yet to be named Darth, performed an ancient Sith ritual to sanctify the planet to the forces of the Dark Side, a wave of powerful dark side energy washed over the planet, awakening all with a modicum of Force sensitivity, and making the future Dark Lord aware of them in turn. It did not take long for the Sith, and in particular the newly created Priesthood of Tund, to come claim the young Chiss girl.

She was inducted into the Order, and learned to wield the Force according to Sith teachings, to harness the powers of the Dark Side, while being indoctrinated with the new teachings of the Sith religion. It was no surprise that she was eventually enrolled into the order of the Sith Inquisitors.

What was different with the young Chiss, however, was that her enrollment was overseen by Darth Cain himself, and involved a complicated Dark Side ritual. In this ritual, the Chiss cast off her former life and identity, and was granted the name of Ricca from Darth Cain, as a sign of her devotion to the Sith Order. Ever since, she has served loyally as an Inquisitor and assassin for the Inquisition and Darth Cain specifically.

THE FORCE
[fancybox4="http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/f/f1/Force_fear_BoS.JPG/revision/latest?cb=20130923015630"]Gifted within the Force, Ricca has been trained to harness many different aspects of the Force, especially the Dark Side of the Force. Her most influential teacher and mentor was Darth Cain, whom taught her how to harness the Dark Side of the Force, while keeping her emotions under control, and how to fuel it with complex emotions like love, devotion, and zeal.

Among her more notable powers are techniques involving sensing and tracking other individuals, how to avoid being detected in turn, how to sense the emotions and mental states of others, and to influence the minds of others, even those trained to resist mental attacks. Her most notable direct combat power on the other hand, is the rather iconic Sith lightning, projecting it from her blue fingers.

She puts an estra bit of effort into everything she does, love, fighting and even jokes. Ever a Sephi at heart, the grim reality of the Galaxy has not crushed her playful spirit. Prone to minor practical jokes (if sometimes vindictive about it) she gets a good laugh out of moments of whimsy. That said, with Eliana, there is a time and place for everything. On the field she is far more prone to settling a conflict with quick and almost brutal efficiency if a peaceful resolution cannot be reached. She carries the guilt of every death she has caused and has a hard time letting go of those feelings. Deeply spiritual, Eliana often spends a great deal of time in temples or meditation whenever she can find the time. [/fancybox4]
