Name:
Kithiac Ursil.
Faction:
Jedi Knights.
Rank:
Initiate.
Species:
Zelosian.
Age:
15
Gender:
Male.
Force Sensitive:
Yes, trained since birth.

Appearance:
His frame is slender but athletic. His height is proportional to his build, being just 1.72 meters. He has short black hair, tapered in the back and sides, with strong natural curls. His face is long and oval with dark green eyes, bushy brows and a hawk’s beak nose. The skin is a dark tan color with a green shade that intensifies when Kithiac is under physical or emotional stress.

He wears olive synthleather trousers and surcoat, dark brown boots and a Jedi robe of equal color.

Attributes:
Kithiac’s determination makes him excel at the things that he is passionate about. At Initiate level, he is a good swordsman and a promising wielder of the Force for restorative purposes. He studies environmental politics and tries to participate in debates whenever a situation amounts. There is a backside to the medallion, though. His determination means that he often cannot see the bigger picture, and thus is a terrible leader. Which is perhaps ironic, since a more environmental friendly policy would demand a strong leader figure with a sensibility for that particular issue. In spite of what Kithiac says, he does succumb to his emotions, and the most problematic thing about it is that he does not recognize it himself.

Personality:
There is determination in this Zelosian. His mind, although quite young, is set on one thing: the preservation of natural environments. Some may argue that he is angry, but Kithiac would say that he is appalled by the listlessness with which nature is regarded. Industry is no excuse; progress is no excuse. Industry and nature must be synergetic, not dichotomic.

For a person of his age, Kithiac seems very sullen. To the more light-hearted Initiates, he seems distant, but underneath his severity, he is still a youngling with an appetite for life and a healthy curiosity. But he does not subscribe to the illusion of the galaxy as divided between malevolent and benevolent forces. All, even the poster boys of the resistance and the mighty generals of the Jedi, may trip over temptation.

Biography:
Kithiac cannot remember his parents, but he has been told that they loved him fiercely. When he started showing signs of Force sensitivity, they brought him to Coruscant and gave him over to the Jedi more out of duty than anything else. According to Kithiac’s file, they were both farmers on Zelos II, but nothing else about them is known to him.

Kithiac was fragile as a youngling. He’d startle easily and have nightmares in the first handful of years he was with the Jedi. He never truly fit in with his clan, but he was taken under the wing by a clanmate. Their instructor was also very observant and made sure that the younglings thrived as well as possible.

When Kithiac grew older, he noticed that he felt a special bond with plants. Perhaps it was because he was a plant sentient, but over time it grew stronger. On one occasion, he fought with another youngling for having done unnecessary damage to a plant in the temple gardens. The aggression was uncharacteristic for him at the time, but as he got older, his temper became a problem.

As a student, he was interested in galactic history and political science. He excelled at the Force control exercises and became a fine swordsman for his age, leaning towards the Forms IV and V.

Tython’s obliteration when Kithiac was ten had a huge impact on him. Not only had many other Jedi died, an entire ecological system had disintegrated, and although his friends and instructors could not necessarily explain why, Kithiac felt the planet’s destruction. For a while he grew silent and indifferent, barely taking notice of the frantic activity going on around him. He was emotionally numb and seemed as if walking in a haze when the Republic crumbled and the Jedi evacuated Coruscant.

Four years later, Kithiac passed his Initiate Trials on the new home planet of the Jedi – Dantooine. It took him two attempts – he failed his first attempt during the meditation part, his mind in too much of an emotional turmoil for him to meditate properly. He spent a few weeks collecting himself, tried again and passed. He spent the next year in limbo, waiting for a master to take him on as an Initiate – the new title for what had previously been the Padawan learner. During this year, he worked at the temple, studied environmental politics, and kept himself fit and prepared both mentally and physically for the time when a master would pick him. And growing in the back of his head was a thought nagging at him: that he might not get picked at all.

"The imperial war machine and its relentless industry nears. It devours, lays barren and moves on in a never-ending, vicious cycle. It is the same with all industries. Give it a hand and it will surely take your arm, but it won’t stop there. Every fiber in your body will serve as fuel for its systematic morphing of living tissue into inanimate technology. It knows no moderation. Its masters know no moderation. They will keep on eating until they bloat, tearing at the beauty of the universe until nothing is left but ashes. I will have none of it.

I share a kinship with those born on Zelos II, but I have never lived there. And yet I am more closely bound to those fragrant forests than to any other living entity in the galaxy. Almost two decades with the Jedi have shown me that there are other issues worth fighting to right, but I remain determined that human indifference of our natural environments is the greatest problem for which there is no easy solution. And it is primarily fueled by human greed. Of that I am certain.

I fight to restore a republic, but I am nervous. I fear that if left unchecked by a greater evil, the republic will become in part the evil it had sought to replace. The galaxy is big. Only those who yell loudest will be heard. And plants have no voices.

I am no knight yet, but I will become one. I will stop at nothing to aid those whom no one seems to hear."

Skills:
Swordsmanship: Kithiac is a good swordsman for his age and rank.
He subscribes to Form IV with touches of Form V (Shien).
Control: Kithiac is gaining proficiency in the Control category of Force
powers, delving into the art of healing. When Kithiac is overcome with
emotion, its effects seem to numb his connection to this branch of the
Force, disabling his abilities.

Gear:
Utility belt.
Dark brown robe.
Olive trousers and surcoat.
Dark brown boots.

I like the way you wrote this guy, especially his biography. It's vague while still giving all of the important information about what kind of person - well, plant - he is. Nice job.

Also welcome to the jedi!!

Updated with a summary of his life up until his current age. Feedback is encouraged - especially with errors in dates and the historical backdrop. I'm still getting a feel for our site's take on galactic history :)
