BIOGRAPHY
Born on Dorin, Kol does not have detailed memories of his hometown or parents because he had been delivered to the Baran Do as a infant. With the Sages, Kol developed his affinity with the Force in a astonishing way, being capable to master techniques that for his age was seemingly impossible. This fact brought admiration from a few members and created fear in the hearts of others. However, at the beginning of his pre-adolescence, Kol was found by a Jedi Master, which led him to be trained as an padawan on Coruscant.

During his stay in the Jedi Temple, Saga spent much of his time in the library, where through the archives sought to hone his skills with the Force. Some masters of the council began to closely observe the development of Kol as a Jedi, his ease in manipulating the Force was unprecedented. Nevertheless, Kol, together with his master, was assigned to a mission in the lower levels of Coruscant. This operation resulted in the Kol's master death, leaving the young Kel Dor alone against a huge horde of criminals. Saga fought bravely, but he was outnumbered and was soon subdued. When the criminals were about to execute Kol, a squad of Imperial Knights arrived at the place defeating several outlaws and making the rest fled in fear. The leader of the group felt Kol's affinity with the Force and invited the young padawan to enter in his order. That same week, Kol exited the Jedi and started his training as a squire in the Imperial Knights remnants.

Kol eventually progressed in the hierarchy of the Imperial Knights, becoming one of the most prestigious Imperial Marshalls. He also became one of the most experienced members of the Order, with over fifteen years of service. Saga was present during the Sith attack on Coruscant, where he saw several of his colleagues fall in battle. However, Kol managed to survive, escape the planet and feeling embarrassed by the defeat, he isolated himself in the Wild Space. There, during years, Saga used his skills to help and protect innocent civilians without drawing the attention of the Sith. After hearing rumors that the Jedi Order was dysfunctional, leaderless and divided, Kol decides to return to direct action against the Sith, hopeful that his former allies will accept him back.
PERSONALITY
Like many of his kind, Saga had a strong sense of justice. His species tended to see issues in black and white, and favored what was termed "rough justice", a method of solving disputes that, to non-Kel Dor, seemed overly retributive and too close to vigilantism. In his youth, Saga's Jedi Master said that he was "humble, polite, stubborn and difficult". Kol is very known for his strong judgment, his practical thinking, and his courage. He is also extremely logical and insightful and was a skilled tactician and diplomat.

Kol Saga was cautious to the point of occasional reluctance, a careful chooser of his friends, and slow to trust. These traits resulted in a Kel Dor that often came off as being remote and intense. Despite this, he was extremely courageous, bravely risking life and limb on numerous occasions for the Empire. Saga strongly believe in the Imperial Knight's role as the servants of the Empire and the Jedi as the guardians of the peace. For those who Kol have close bonds, he can be described as loyal, dedicated and possessor of a dry sense of humor and sarcastic wit, yet he carefully measure his actions in any situation and will thought out plans and strategies rather than leaping into action.

An Imperial Marshall, aka a Knight Marshall is basically the Imperial Knight's rank equivalent to a Master, according to what I have read in the archive boards. Also, just a note, the Imperial Knights were kicked out right after the Sith took over the Empire, which was before the war occurred.

From what is written here, the Knight and the Marshall are different ranks, being the latter higher than the first. About his biography, let build and analyze his timeline:

1 year (991 ABY) - 11 years (1001 ABY): being trained by the Baran Do.
11 years (1001 ABY) - 13 years (1003 ABY): being trained by the Jedi.
13 years (1003 ABY) - 22 years (1012 ABY): being trained by the Imperial Knight remnants.
22 years (1012 ABY) - 33 years (1023 ABY): isolated himself in the Wild Spaces.
33 years (1023 ABY/Now): Returns to "civilization" and intends to enter the Jedi and the Rebellion in the war against the Sith.

I will make the necessary corrections in the biography. Danke for you comment my friend.

Once they joined the rebellion Marshals was an umbrella term for all Imperial Knights who had completed their training. So you're good on that front.

Oh I see now. Danke for the help. I have a question: how many factions can a character participate?

Theoretically as many that make sense. Generally anything past singular faction participation needs approval from Lavi, though.

Interesting. I'm thinking of just leave him with the Jedi and the Rebel for now. I have big plans for this dude. Danke for the help.

Hi Götz,

I assume you're changing this - but the faction still says NJO. I saw you applied for the Rebels and got accepted, so I am assuming you're not applying to be a part of the Jedi anymore? :(

Hey tic-TAC (omg, that joke...) he cant be participate of the two? If not, I will choose the Jedi, because of the first story arc that I'm writing for him.

He can be in the two, but you need approval from an AFL or FL for the Rebels, an AFL or FL for the Jedi, and you also need approval from Lavi, the Faction Administrator for the site.

I would suggest getting approval from an AFL for the Rebel, since Brandon is the head FL and is most likely busy.

Just a quick question. I thought new characters had to start at the padawan rank?

The creator of the character can mean that his character's rank is that of a Knight, specifically an Imperial Knight. Also new members can create characters with a rank above of Padawan, as long as the FL or an AFl is okay with it, although I haven't seen anyone who is a new member be approved to start above Knight rank.

TAC has stated that he has not yet allowed anyone to start at Knight and probably won't unless a set of circumstances are met (or something to that affect, I'd have to find his quote, I'm sure he could clarify). So, if that holds true he would still need to start as a Padawan even if he was an Imperial Knight before hand, though I'm sure there could be something done so he could have more experience (read: skill) than other Padawans.

Thanks Ral, very helpful answer. I thought I saw him post that on another PC's profile just recently.

Hi Folks,

Thanks for your help.

Götz, my apologies for my slowness! Finals week is a bit crazy.

As folks have eluded to, I am pretty stringent on approving new characters to start at the rank of Knight. This isn't because I have any doubt in your character or your abilities as a writer, it is actually quite the opposite! Investment is an incredibly important part of our website, our characters, and the story that we are weaving together.

The only reason I am the FL here on the website is because I wrote an interesting character who I saw develop and interact from 18 to 46, from Padawan Grand Master, and it was my investment and the story from the very first day that kept me here so long. I do not doubt that you have exciting plans for Kol Saga, and you would do amazing things with him as a Jedi Knight, but if you start there you are missing out on amazing roleplay and potential story that makes his life have more depth and gives you more opportunities to weave his past (which you roleplayed!) into interesting developments further down the line.

That being said, Padawan doesn't mean he needs to be 14 and without some history. It does mean his abilities are less and his skills are toned down, but through roleplay (where you can also be creating interesting stories and relationships to capitalize on later) those abilities and skills can be built up over time.

All that being said, I can not at this time accept your character as a Jedi Knight. If you have questions, concerns, or would like to discuss the matter further I would love to do that! We have each other on skype and you can always PM me!

Thanks,
TAC
