DESCRIPTION
A bowcaster was a type of traditional, handcrafted slugthrower weapon created by Wookiees. Bowcasters used specialized conductor orbs to energize solid quarrels as they were propelled between them by the weapons firing mechanism, forming the weapons "slugs". The quarrels were contained within special magazines and were stripped off the magazine by the cocking mechanism, traditionally this had to be manually reset between shots. However, Konn created his rifle with auto-cocking in mind. His bowcaster’s ability to automatically cock allows him to have a bowcaster that has a faster rate of fire. Each bowcaster is unique- a reflection of the preferences and personality of the Wookie who built it. Some were elegantly wood carved with gold inlays, while others were massive chunks of forged durasteel that doubled as good clubs.

Konn created his bowcaster when he was around 15. The bowcaster is primarily made of durasteel with the exception of the grip and stock. The wooden parts of his bowcaster have artistic carvings of some of the flowers and flora that can be seen on Kashyyyk. Something which the Wookiee spent many hours perfecting.

LEGALITY
Bowcasters were classed as ceremonial weapons by many governments, and their ownership was often legal- uncommon for slugthrower weapons- athough open carry on civilized worlds was often restricted. However, Wookies hold the weapons in almost sacred regard, and non-Wookie owners are likely to be interrogated as to how they acquired the weapon if spotted by a Wookie Warrior- those with unsatisfactory answers are liable to have their arms pulled out of their sockets.

To give extra flavour to my OC’s character whose rifle is a variant of the Bowcaster.​
