As Dramen Kyllth stepped off of the ship, he realized how close he was to finally completing his goal. All he had to do was travel a few miles and he would be in his master's presence. When the new Supreme Leader called the Sith back to Korriban to rebuild, Volantis Drendg notified Dramen of his position. Dramen had a weird feeling that the notification was almost like a taunt for him from Drendg, telling him to just get it over with already. Dramen clenched his fists as he looked around, the dust blowing in the air as the Sith Temple ruins sat around, crumbling away slowly. He could feel much more presences on this planet than on the ship, but he still maintained his focus on the ones that were important. Greeting the new Supreme Leader would have to wait, completing his own training was far more important. Dramen took a deep breath and waited for Vega Naurdor to exit the ship after him.

Vega's first step off the ship sunk into sand. He'd never been to a desert before, and the sight was captivating. Not only was he surrounded by sand, but by the ruins of temples and buildings. Vega had never been on an actual battlefield. These ruins gave him an apperception of the aftermath of war. The animosity of many sith, live and dead, resonated in Korriban's force. It was an enthralling presence, one that invoked a new hope—the growing hatred that would evidently win this war.

Dramen's aura was cloud in an anger far greater than the planet's force. Vega told the Sith he would accompany him on his quest for vengeance, and he still intended to. As he exited the ship, he spied his new acquaintance and approached him.

Not bothering to wait for all of the other Sith on the ship getting off to great the New Supreme Leader, Dramen started walking into the sandy ruins of the Sith Temple. It would be some time until they reached Volantis Drendg, so he decided this was a good time to get to know his new acquaintance. He looked at the young man as he walked and said: "So, tell me Vega, what style do you use in Lightsaber combat?"

"I am untrained in the forms of lightsaber combat," Vega admitted. "What i know of the force I learned long ago. As my older brother trained as a Padawan; he would teach me as well." His lightsaber pike was fasted on his back, its length almost surpassing him. When the saber caught form, its length proved to be an advantage more than a disadvantage. But its length did limit Vega's defenses. "Do not mistake my lack of knowledge in the force as weakness. I was nearly raised by Mandalorians, and there i learned to fight in the skin of a lion—a true warrior's passion," After saying this aloud, it dawned on him that while he fought as elegantly as a Mando (and in some cases, better), he didn't share the same passion of valor. He wasn't motivated by a warriors intention when in combat, but only hatred—the source of most of his power.

After hearing Vega's answer, he concluded that the young man did indeed need training. He was powerful and skilled no doubt, but he still had much to learn. Dramen thought of his father, Kyle Lerna, when Vega had mentioned his brother being trained as a Padawan. Dramen thought of how drastically his life could have changed if his father had the guts to train him in the ways of the light side of the force rather than hide from Volantis Drendg. Dramen opened his mouth to speak, but then closed it before actually saying anything. He did not want to pry anymore into Vega's past. There would be a time and place for that later, first Volantis Drendg would be slain.

"We're here." Dramen said. Drendg stood a few feet in front of them, not looking at them but it was obvious that he already knew they were there. Ruins were spread around the area, stone slowly rotting away or sinking into the sand. "Stay here and watch and you will witness how true Sith battle." Dramen said to Vega, and with that he started walking closer to Drendg. He could already feel the anger boiling up inside of him. His whole life led up to this moment. The single person who both directly and indirectly ruined his life stood in front of him. The master that taught him everything, but now there was no more to teach. He took a deep breath and let out a yell: "Drendg!" He made sure to emphasize the fact that this time he did not call him "Master." He in clipped his light saber from his side and held in next to him with his right hand. He did not ignite it yet, as he waited for Drendg's reaction.

Theme

A solitary figure stood before the two who had come such a long way to meet him. His lekku twitched underneath his hood in anticipation, beholding the presence he had so deliciously befouled.

It seemed like only yesterday that he had broken the poor thing; he could relive every moment of his exquisite transformation in stunning detail, a sharp, raised relief against the mire of the Dark Side, still polluting his other half-forgotten memories swirling around his mind.

Perhaps his only regret was that he didn't torture the boy's father instead of killing him; oh what a scene that would have been, something that during his sleepless nights he would daydream of to soothe his aching consciousness. He could still hear the screams of rage...he could imagine them turning into shrieks of terror, pain physical and emotional melding effortlessly into the symphony he had then still been composing. Oh how he wished he could have repaired that day, mold it into a far more powerful climax than it was. But in truth, even the greatest of artists feel some nagging dissatisfaction with their masterworks. He had succeeded where his lessers before him had failed. He had in truth, forged a new life from one fragile and rotten with empty feeling. And now his little creation had come to complete his journey, fulfil his ultimate purpose as Drendg's plaything.

Too bad the Twi'lek already had another replacement in mind. Though Dramen gave him pleasure, he had allowed his essence to grow stale, as projects dwelt upon for too long are often wont to do.

He would finish this work's life here and now.

"Drendg!"

"I'm not deaf, little one," he said flatly in response , a sardonic tone cutting through the entire statement. Indeed, he truly was growing grating. Perhaps his next toy would learn to show him more respect. Drendg raised his hood, revealing his demonic visage as he glared at both his former apprentice and this strange newcomer. Once Dramen was dead, he would sate his thirst with him. For pleasure or blood, only time would tell.

"You know...you always were my favorite...it's such a shame it must come to this," he muttered, gloved hands draped at his robed sides as he tilted his head at the anguished young man. His voice flowed like quicksilver, poisoned with the sweet, rotting death of nightshade. "But it was always like you to fixate on simple-minded pursuits...just like now. Just like always," he ended wistfully, one hand subtly maneuvering the layer of his robe over it, though whatever weapons he might have been holding were still hidden.

He then turned to the other one standing there, one who seemed to be somewhat younger in comparison. Yellowing, decaying enamel danced behind his thin, smiling lips as he addressed him: "I would stand back...my pet has a knack for destroying the things close to him with his anger. Especially his own, pathetic life..."

The more and more Drendg spoke Dramen filled with anger. He restrained himself as best as he could, knowing that Drendg was trying to get him heated up enough to let his guard down. "I would stand back...my pet has a knack for destroying the things close to him with his anger. Especially his own, pathetic life..." Drendg said, directing his words specifically to Vega. Dramen knew it was time. The anger that had built up inside of him for many years was finally ready to be unleashed. Dramen didn't say anything as his face crinkled in anger, the look of pure hatred on his face. He ignited his Lightsaber, the red blade shooting out of the spiked hilt. The anger inside of him was strong, but he had to be careful not to let it completely blind him.

He held the blade up in front of him, keeping it a safe distance away from his face. With another deep inhale, he shot off his position on the ground, darting towards his former master. "RHAARGGH" He roared as he moved as quick as he could, letting the force allow him to move around lighter than usual. Flashes of his past came back once again to him as his eyes turned a deep red, almost reflecting off of the sand all around him. Before he reached Drendg, he leaped into the air, then started to come back down with his saber held in a diagonal position. His plan was to land where Drendg was, almost on top of him, so that he could attack by swinging his blade left and right to try and cut Drendg into pieces.

The walk to Dramen’s destination was complete with silent. Their footsteps echoed through the desolate ruins. Finally, they had reached the target—a solitary figure standing before them, hooded in Sith attire. He didn’t face the two, but regardless, the scene was quite menacing. This is a Sith Lord… Vega mutter to himself. Dramen clamored his master’s name: “Drendg,” and it echoed off the barren temple walls. Vega listened to their conversation, an underlying tone of hatred emitted from the two of them, but never interrupted. This was clearly a personal feud full of history; history which Vega had never conversed with his companion on their reserved walk here. Vega then analyzed Dramen’s demeanor. The more his master chastised him, the more resonate his apprentice’s anger grew. A strong force of malice echoed in the tide of temple’s force.

Finally, Vega’s presence was acknowledged. He wondered if this Drendg could identify his youth, even through the sheath of his hood. “I would stand back…my pet has a knack for destroying the things close to him with his anger,” Vega didn’t have to look at Dramen to see his face cringe, he could feel the change. It was then that Dramen roared, and so the fight began—one initiated with a saga of atrocities Vega could only imagine.

There was a difference between Drendg and his apprentice that Vega had already noticed. Dramen’s emotions were leading his attacks, while Drendg, extremely reserved but acute, would guide his attacks with emotion. Though the battle hadn’t truly begun, Vega was already entranced by this performance of force combat. Many Jedi he’d killed, but was benefited by a combination of his wit and skills. Here, before him, was a battle of knowledge—controlling the sentiment of the force. He would soon mirror such behavior in the tournament that was to come; thus, he backed away from the fight and perched on nearby rubble. He sat with his legs crossed like a child, leaning against the pole of his lightsaber. Beneath the shade of his hood was a young face painted with awe.

It took mere fractions of a second for Drendg's lightsaber to be called to his hand. The blade of the gem-encrusted monument to art and avarice followed soon after, glowing blood red as it met Dramen's ferocious assault. Unfortunately for the misguided apprentice, his anger was all too easy for him to read. It was an anger he had fed off of, known as intimately as a lover would know his other. He had taught him how to wield a blade, he had summoned forth Dramen's command of the Force, he had made him the Sith he claimed to be. There could be no alternative other than the young man's demise, and the widening grin on his face belied further and further his growing confidence.

After the initial shock of the learner's blistering strikes, the teacher made his own skill known. He took control and transitioned to the offensive, his strikes swift and precise, the surgeon's scalpel to Dramen's battering ram. He set the pace ever more feverish, reminding the wayward Sith of his true master.

The two soon found themselves locking blades, Drendg utilizing some brute force of his own to maintain it. He locked eyes with his apprentice; Dramen would see nothing but the cavernous abyss of an empty soul, sucking in this tantalizing anger and making it his own. The corrupt Twi'lek spoke, far more malice welling beneath his normally-reserved voice than normal.

"It's fruitless, you know...nothing you can do here or in the future will make a difference. You couldn't even save your worthless father, how can you even begin to save yourself!?"

With a mighty heave unbecoming of the sociopath's frame, he pushed the lock away from himself and immediately followed with a veritable torrent of Sith lightning aimed directly at the foolish young man. If he had come for a taste of true Sith combat, he would receive it; and his flesh would be gouged to the bone with its insidious power.

"It's fruitless, you know...nothing you can do here or in the future will make a difference. You couldn't even save your worthless father, how can you even begin to save yourself!?"

At the mention of his father, Dramen became absolutely livid. He gritted his teeth as he pressed the red blade of his lightsaber against Drendg's. There was one thing that was incorrect in the Sith's words however: Dramen would make a difference both here and in the future. First he would kill Drendg and take his rightful place as a Sith Warrior, and then in the future he would train the boy. Dramen acknowledged Vega's presence behind him, the boy watching the fight closely. If anything, Dramen had to win this fight for him, so that the cycle of Master and Apprentice could keep going. The boy was undoubtedly the key to the next chapter of Dramen's life, and he knew this. Dramen put more force into pushing his blade, hoping to make Drendg stagger or lose control. Even though Drendg was just trying to taunt him, Dramen knew that he had to take control of himself and stop telegraphing all of his moves.

With a mighty heave, Drendg pushed away Dramen's blade as their lock ended. Dramen saw the torrent of lightning come shooting towards him from Drendg's blackened fingertips. With as much focus as he could, Dramen held up his blade in a defensive position. The force lightning shot into the blade, bouncing off of it and right back into its original creator. Regardless of whether or not the lightning had hit Drendg, Dramen eventually lost control and his blade moved slightly to the side, allowing the remaining lightning to hit him. Pain shot through his limbs as the electricity sped through his body, almost cooking his insides as it passed through. Dramen took only half a second to recover, knowing full well that he had to keep his defense up or the fight would be over in a very short amount of time. As Dramen waited for Drendg's next offensive attack, he prepared to unleash his powers in the force, the powers that he had been practicing to harness everyday for the passed couple of years. It was obvious that the Twi'lek Sith had the upper hand here, but Dramen knew that if he was able to muster up enough strength, he would be able to defeat the older warrior.

He was shocked; the electricity of his own hand coursed through his veins, even as he desperately held his concentration to keep the flow of energy on its target. It was somewhat less effective on him, being his own power, but it still pained him to no end. Just as Dramen faltered in his defense, Drendg had to break away before he broke himself instead.

The Twi'lek remained out of sorts for a few moments before he composed himself, just in time to see Dramen still within a split second's worth of confusion and pain from the lightning he had unleashed. Drendg closed the distance as immediately, hot, rancid breath seeping from between his grit teeth. If the delectable agony coursing through him were not distracting his concentration, he probably would have finished him from a distance; however, seeing this opening, the risks became far less dissuading than the reward of asserting his power.

With a guttural growl, the Sith prepared to take a hard swing at Dramen's midsection from his left, a strained stiffness overcoming his technique and leering grin. "Perish!" he screeched, as his blade drew nearer to its mark.

As soon as Dramen's dizziness was gone, he saw the Twi'lek's blood red blade swinging left hard at his midsection as Drendg yelled "Perish!" In a moment of desperation for survival, Dramen lifted his free hand just as the blade was about to hit its mark. Force energy flew out of his hand, sending Drendg flying back a few feet. Before he fully flew back, the very tip of his blade made slight contact with the left side of Dramen's abdomen. The clothes and skin singed as Dramen yelled in pain. The ability pushed Dramen back a few steps as well, the sand sliding as his feet moved with it. Using the pain of his new scar to fuel more strength, Dramen started moving towards Drendg again with incredible speed, a perk from only wearing light armor. Right as he was about to run straight into Drendg, He rolled headfirst in the sand, coming back up behind his enemy as he swung his lightsaber right for Drendg's legs mid-roll, hoping to cut them off from under.

The battle filled Vega with rushes of adrenaline, leaving him attentively hanging off the rock he sat on. Strike after blow, the two Sith went at each other contentiously. It was truly difficult to predict the victor of the feud, as when one had the upper-hand, he would lose it shortly after. It was exhilarating, especially since Vega hadn't been in a fight since he'd departed for Korriban. Vega, nearly biting his nails in anticipation, wished to aid Dramen; but because the conflict held intrinsic value to him--he steered clear. However, if the tides proved to be in his master's favor, Vega was prepared to join the action. While the life of Vega's new companion wasn't too important to him (as they'd only met today), he knew if Dramen was slain his master would likely come for Vega next. He leaned on his lightsaber pike lazily, comforting himself as he watched the two fight--but also clutched within his hands in case he had to aid his companion.

Drendg laughed as he watched Dramen seethe with anger, widening his stance to better be able to take the inevitable blow the fool would surely attempt to deal. His rage would undoubtedly make him predictable. The Sith only needed to wait for him to make his ultimate mistake.

But he didn't.

Drendg's confidence and pleasure turned to shocked surprise as his former apprentice practically fell headfirst into the dust beneath them, rolling beneath the legs he had unfortunately spread to allow said opening, to attack. He had taught Dramen to control the fight with prowess with a blade, not sudden maneuvers like this; it had come out of the blue, and he soon realized what a mistake it had been to assume he still controlled his every thought and move.

He leapt quickly into the air to avoid the roll, but not before Dramen's lightsaber cut into the Twi'lek's flesh. He gasped in pain as the nerve endings of his left calf were fried, the entire back of the muscle being shaved off as he landed, stumbling away on a leg and a half. Gathering his concentration, he would throw what he could only hope was a bone-shattering Force push, but the pain he was feeling skewed his concentration. It would likely only be enough to unbalance him or push him a few more feet, as Drendg attempted to recover after the devastatingly deep cut into him.

Drendg's gasp of pain brought satisfaction to Dramen, illuminating hope in him that he had hit his target. He had a small frown appear on his face when he saw that Drendg had jumped back and was still able to stand, rather than lying in the sand writhing in pain. He knew that he had hit a part of his mark when he saw that Drendg's left leg was now unusually shaped and deformed. Dramen immediately started running towards his former master again, making sure that he kept himself from telegraphing his next move. He saw Drendg raise his hand, prompting Dramen to stop so that he didn't get pushed back too far. The resulting Force Push was weak, almost laughable. It made Dramen go back a few feet, but with his readiness and fully determined spirit, he was able to keep himself from getting unbalanced.

The Force Push brought more annoyance to Dramen. The Twi'lek was practically hanging on a strong thread, but yet only a thread. All Dramen had to do was hit him in the right spot and victory would be his. Dramen took his time thinking about his next move as Drendg recovered from his last hit. Dramen flew across teh sand towards him once again, allowing The Force to once again move him graciously. Dramen stopped only a few feet in front of Drendg, making sure to hold his lightsaber in a defensive position as he used his other hand to raise one of the temple ruins' pillars off the ground, moving it forward and then using it to fly right into Drendg's figure. This attack required a whole lot of concentration, and Dramen hoped that it had done enough damage as he recovered from the amount of power he had just used.

Drendg winced each time he attempted to place an iota of weight on his half-amputated leg. He couldn't see how bad it was, only that it was on fire with pain as the initial shock from the deep slice subsided.

But he couldn't, wouldn't die like this. Not to his own failure of an apprentice. He stood ready in a defensive stance, pursing his lips as he pushed the physical pain away, converting it into hatred and rage for his pupil. He still saw himself as the man's true master; he would not have his authority be discarded so callously and overthrown with a stroke of a saber's blade.

He was somewhat surprised once again when he didn't attack after that intimidating approach. Instead, Dramen was attempting to hit the Twi'lek with an entire temple pillar. The seasoned Sith snarled as he reached a hand out, pushing back against the throw with all of his ethereal might. He would attempt to redirect its course to hit Dramen. Still channeling his anger, he laughed as he began to make headway in his ultimate goal of doing so.

"Perhaps you may have crippled me...but you cannot win...your end...draws ever nearer, my child...you underestimate my power!"

Sweat and sand caked around Dramen's forehead and temples as he stood there to recover from the significant amount of power he had just used. He deactivated his lightsaber and clipped it back on his hip for a moment, hoping that his last attack would either end or keep Dendg busy. His head shot up again as soon as he heard Drendg say "Perhaps you may have crippled me...but you cannot win...your end...draws ever nearer, my child...you underestimate my power!"

Dramen saw the Temple Pillar come flying back towards him. Not bothering to reignite his blade, both of his hands flew up as he caught the pillar heading towards him in the air. The pain of immense strain shot up through his arms and muscles as Drendg's force power pushed against his own. Knowing that he wouldn't be able to keep this up, Dramen looked at the Twi'lek across from him, taking notice of the sadistic look on his dreaded face.

An inner rage like no other awakened inside of Dramen in that one moment. He would not lose this battle after so much suffering. Everything came to a head as Dramen repositioned his left hand towards Drendg while his right hand still stayed up to hold the pillar that was being pushed towards him. His right hand shook as it struggled to keep pushing. The image of his father appeared in his mind, the man that was too weak to save himself from his own future. The man that Drendg had taken away from Dramen. "You...Underestimate...MINE!" Dramen yelled through gritted teeth. His rage flowed trough his body, making it's exit in the form of powerful Force Lightning shooting out of his left hand's fingertips towards Drendg. Dramen held this position for about five seconds, with both is right hand holding the pillar and his left hand shooting the lightning towards Drendg.

He couldn't take the strain anymore as he let go, not even knowing if the lightning that had taken so much to muster up had even hit his former master. The pillar immediately came flying right towards him. He pushed his body to the side, but wasn't fully able to make it due to the amount of power he had just used. The stone crashed into his left side, sending him flying back. He heard his some of his rib bones crack just as his left wrist snapped. The pillar also simultaneously hit the left side of his face, bruising his cheek badly and fracturing his nose. Dramen held the pain in, not wanting to yell as that would only give Drendg satisfaction. He finally hit the ground as the pillar tumbled around him. His clothes were ripped and tattered as he lied there in the sandy ruins. Slightly lifting his head, he grabbed his lightsaber again with his right hand and ignited it once again, holding it in a defensive position as best as he could as he lied there in pain as a result of his injuries and the amount of power that had just pushed through his body in a way that it had never gone through before.

Crack, snap!

Vega could hear Dramen’s rib bones crack from the impact of the pillar as his body flew backward with intense velocity. He was as far to the edge of his seat as he could be, watching with such anticipation. “He has to be done for,” Vega muttered, as he noted Dramen’s wrist had snapped as well. “He manages his pain well, though.” He then looked to Drendg, who also sustained some serious injuries. Under the impression the battle was over, Vega was about to ready his weapon. Then, to his surprise, a red glow emitted from the corner of his eye and he saw Dramen in a fragmented defensive stance. Vega was prepared to step in, as he was no longer intimated by the injured Sith Lord; but he would not interfere unless it seemed necessary.

Drendg took the full brunt of the Force Lightning assault, roaring ferally in agony from the torture. He could only hold the rock aloft for a few more seconds before letting it drop as the lightning pushed him into the ground with a mighty shock of power. Consequently, the pillar had not crushed his apprentice as intended, relatively grazing him instead. The little bastard's tenacity had saved him from Drendg's wrath. And now he had lost himself to a state of mental devastation. This was not what he had foreseen, or intended. He had expected somewhat of a fight; he had trained him, after all. But he had not expected to be humiliated so, thrown upon the ground, wretching and gasping for air like a fish out of water. But though he was down, he was not finished. Not now. Not ever. Not when his furious anger still drove him forth, his desperation for retribution pushing him out of silence.

With a loud grunt, Drendg pushed himself off his back onto his stomach, pulling himself up to his hands and knees. All he could do further in his state of blind rage was crawl. Crawl until he could crawl no farther. His jittering, shaking body pushed itself onward on all fours, keeping his weight on his unruined leg and dragging the other behind him. He gripped his lightsaber tightly, panting from the effort as his own nerves fought against him, flooding him with ever more piercing pain. He couldn't fail or make a mistake now, not when he was so close, seeing his apprentice in as much pain as he was.

He panted in exhaustion from the arduous trek, a walk of only a few feet if he were but able to walk as he once was. But it was well worth it as he finally found himself in front of who had become his ultimate rival. He ignited his saber, a loud sigh of satisfaction escaping him as he attacked, for the final time.

He fell against rather than swung into Dramen's defensive position, the weight of his body acting as the force behind it, held up now only by this sad display of desperation that he had been reduced to.

And yet he still denied it; his pride would not allow this to be. He would win. He had to.

"You...are...still...nothing...just like your father...your mother...you were always...mine...and now...your...use...has run...its course..."

This was the end. No matter what happened, everything had been building up to this final moment. Drendg's lightsaber fell onto Dramen's, letting out the grueling sounds of their clash. If Dramen was only in a little bit better shape, he would be able to finish this before Drendg could take another wretched breath. Drendg's pathetic strength matched Dramen's as they lied there on the sandy ground like worms. The idea of getting Vega to help him passed through Dramen's mind, but then he decided that he had to defeat his master by himself. Drendg's body pushed his blade down towards Dramen's, and Dramen knew that he would lose this battle. The older Sith's body weight was more than Dramen's own, and so he knew that this was the end. But then Drendg made his final mistake.

"You...are...still...nothing...just like your father...your mother...you were always...mine...and now...your...use...has run...its course..."

A Sith's source of power was their anger and hatred. Being reminded once again of his family, Dramen yelled in pure fury. If only the Twi'lek had kept his mouth closed, he would have been able to kill his former apprentice. With his right hand, Dramen started to push the lock of their blades away from his face. With sweat dripping down his face, Dramen yelled once again. "No...MASTER...You have...no further use....FOR ME!"

With that, Dramen brought the lock up to Drendg's face and pushed. In a quick motion full of strength, he then pushed Drendg's blade to right, coming back again to the left in a straight line as he aimed to cut right cross Drendg's neck.
