It was the middle of the day on the Sith world of Korriban. The sun sat high in the sky, beating down upon the red, rocky surface of the planet mercilessly. The air itself seemed to shimmer with the heat, unable to withstand the harsh gaze of the sun without losing its integrity. In the distance stood the temple, claiming the lives of the unworthy even now, as two contestants made their way to the battle location and prepared to fight until one was victorious over the other. Rocky outcroppings rose all around, forming a natural arena of sorts. Paving the ground of the makeshift arena were rocks, most of which were little more than pebbles. One, however, stood above all the rest. It stood at waist height and made up the centre point of the rocky, uneven fighting ground, serving as a focal point for the bout.

Two combatants stood on opposite sides of the arena, rock outcroppings rising around them in every direction. Both combatants were members of the Lords of the Sith. The first, known simply as Velus, was an Epicanthix that considered himself an assassin, whereas this opponent, a Zabrak Sith known as Sarok Magnarus, thought himself fierce. But which of these competitors is what they truly say? Is Sarok Magnarus as fierce as he says? Is Velus the assassin he truly claims to be? Only time will tell. Regardless of their experience; regardless of their place in the Brotherhood, upon this field they were equals, and before the day was done one would emerge victorious, while the other would emerge much worse for wear, but alive, even if they were lacking a limb or two.

Sarok was ready for this. He had been training ever since he had signed up, he had memorised his moves he had definetely improved his dueling where as a while ago he couldn't even hold a lightsaber. All his training had led to this fight, he knew he would not die but he did no his powerful would be extremely questioned if he did not win.

He wondered who his opponent was, one of the things that Sarok did was try to completely think out every scenario and every move and how it would effect the ending. This also can contribute to his demise, leading to him thinking it over too much. He also wondered what his opponent was like, were they agile or big and bulky.

He knew for sure that his opponent would be equally matched to him so he knew he had to outsmart his opponent and had to make sure to never let his guard down. Ever since he joined the sith he had changed, his force power had blossomed and he never felt more powerful, he felt like he could destroy WHOLE cities. He thought to himself "Would this be easy or I'm in for a real battle?"

This was Saroks first tournament and the only thing on his mind was that he wasn't going to let himself be dismembered in the first round. This made him laugh, the thought of slicing off limbs and his opponents sitting there looking at him, this was one of the times that you saw something the Sarok usually did. He laughed. Even if it was some twisted humour of his, this was the first time he had laughed in a while.

This laughter was soon diminished as he had just remembered he was in the middle of a tournament. He came back to his senses and waited for his opponent.

Velus, Sith Assassin, and a Sith Knight. Ever since his training in Korriban, the Ephicanthix had taught himself as much as he could about being a Sith Assasin. He had been fortunate enough to have a master that would teach him , and establsih a good foundation for his skills. After his master's death however, it was Velus that was able to teach himself, albeit with some huge help with the academy instructors.

The Sith had applied to a tournament, knowing full well that he was going to face another person. Velus had found out that he was facing a Zabrak; he found them an interesting species, their durability being one of the traits he liked among them. Velus however was also durable, relying on his speed, agility, among other attributes to be able to beat in his opponents.

Knowing full well that he would be facing a powerful opponent, he had thought about bringing in anti-force user weapons, but he decided to just come in with dual lightsabers only, each with a dual phase function in order to prepare himself to fight the Zabrak. If his opponent had other weapons than lightsabers, Velus would also have some weapons as well.

He walked to the arena, nodding at his opponent.

"Let the fight begin." he stated.

Sarok ran at velus, a sort of jog rather than run which was a way of confusing the opponent. He keeping jogging, ever so slightly he got closer and closer to velus and as he got towards his opponent he swung his lightsaber in an upwards strike, ready to bring it down on his opponent.

The Ephicanthix so Sarok ran, observing his movements. He was always keen when he was in battle, his mind entering a state of total awareness. Velus was a firm believer in using your environment to the battle, and they were some things he could see that he could us to his advantage. That would perhaps come in due time, when the battle continued.

Velus so Sarok move in, bringing down his lightsaber in a swing toward him. While Sarok had run, the Zabrak's lightsaber in his right hand, Velus had already activated his lightsaber, which was in his left hand. Velus also bent his knees, moving slowly to his left while Saro was running. He so the Zabrak bring his lightsaber in an upwards strike toward him, aiming at Velus' left shoulder. Velus activated his lightsber in his left hand, conducting a horizontal block with his lightsaber. Velus could feel Sarok's incredible strength being put into the attack he made. The Assassin however, had a counter.

Per the moveset of Trakata, he deactivated his lightsaber. One would think that this would be a stupid move, but to Velus it wasn't. The pressure Sarok had put into his blow meant that when Velus deactivated his lightsaber, Sarok would certainly be able to lose his balance. When Velus had observed his movements, he had been able to see that Sarok had not been able to take any precautionary measures in order to combat an issue like losing his balance. This was also furthered back by the fact that Velus had seen his previous dueling opponents, when conducting a strike with a lot of strength, taking steps in order to make sure they wouldn't lose their balance. The lose of balance caused by Velus' move meant that Sarok would have to deal with the issue of losing his balance, while Velus was already moving in to conduct his next attack.

While he deactivated his lightsaber, Velus simultaneously pivoted his left foot, which put him at Sarok's right flank(or side). As he pivoted, he instantly activated his lightsaber again, and brought his lightsaber from below, sending a diagonal attack(bringing his lightsaber up from below) to the right side of Sarok's stomach, where the floating ribs, and the kidneys stood. The floating ribs were among the most vulnerable parts of the ribs, and for the kidneys... well that was self-explanatory.

When Velus did this, he made sure to activate the dual phase function in his lightsaber, extending the lightsaber to 2.5 meters. Sarok would now have to deal with an extended blade, and considering the close proximity between he and Velus, chances are that his legs, and other parts of his body would most likely get sliced up

As he did this, he made sure to maintain awareness of what was occurring, ready for any strikes, or counters from the formidable Zabrak. Other than the lose of pressure, and also having to deal with Velus' attack nearly instanteously after Sarok loosing his balance, his right arm hadd been extended, attacking his left shoulder. This meant that his entire right half of his body, specifically the lower right area(where places like the kidneys, and floating ribs would be) were entirely defenseless. The changes, in Velus' experienced opinion, of him being able to counter all of this in little time was extremely unlikely. Being able to master up a force attack in such a short time was also unlikely, since Velus was attacking in a range of at east 2 seconds, and even then, he was out of the range of a force push, etc. To Velus' this attack would work, but perhaps Sarok could surprise him. Who knows?

Sarok knew he had messed up. He knew he had to do something, so he pivoted to the right since it was his preferred side to attack from. Sarok was off balance but used this to his advantage falling on his back he rolled away from his attacker about 2 meters away.

This velus was a crafty fellow, he knew he had to outsmart him. Sarok charged at velus with ferocious speed, Sarok then slid underneath velus hitting velus in his left leg giving Sarok a moment to then get round to veluses other side of his body.

Sarok had to time this absolutely right, if he didn't he would just get hit in the face. What Sarok was doing was using his martial arts that his species were known for then he would follow it up with his lightsaber. For now he was using his hands and legs, which was hopefully going to work.

Velus smirked. While he was moving, the Zabrak had pivoted to his right, and then rolled two meters away. What a crafty guy Velus thought while Sarok moved away, Velus observing his movements with a keen eye.

While Sarok was rolling 2 meters away, Velus had already pivoted, his speed, and lean agility being able to help him. The fact that he was moving away meant that Sarok wouldn't be able to attack Velus, at all. Velus so his opponent then rise up, and attack him again with ferocious speed. They were now facing each other, just like they were in the beginning of the fight. It seemed they were back to square one again.

While Sarok charged at him with ferocious speed. It seemed like Velus was going to do a sidestep, but Velus moved it, conducting a pivot while Sarok was beginning to slide underneath Velus. The fact that he was sliding underneath created some issues for the Zabrak. Firstly, he would not be able to stop the motion of sliding in. He was moving in an unchangeable trajectory, and per Newton's laws, an object in motion stays in motion. Secondly, Sarok would have to be dealing with the pebbles, and many rocks that would most likely cause irritation to his back. The Zabrak didn't seem to where anything in his upper body, and even if he was wearing clothes, it would still cause some irritation. Thirdly, since Velus had already pivoted when Sarok had already dedicated himself to sliding under Velus, it would be highly difficult to dodge the attack, considering the fact that Sarok didn't even have a lightsaber activated, while Velus did, his dual phase function already activated.

Moving slightly back, Velus once again sent an attack. While he was pivoting, he had been preparing himself to send an attack via usage of the force Using force spark, a less advanced version of force lightning, but could still cause some damage if left undefended. Velus sent lightning toward Sarok in from his right hand, the lightning being aimed at the part where his lateral epicondyte was in Sarok's right hand(since Velus was facing Sarok's right side of his body). He aimed that part of his body for a number of reasons. Firstly, the chances of Sarok reactivating his lightsaber, and blocking the attack in such a small time frame was highly unlikely; even using force enhancement, the Zabrak had not been able to do that. Secondly, he wouldn't be able to use tutaminis(a force power that absorbed an attack, then redirected it) without considerable difficulty, considering the fact that one had to touch the energy with their hands(something that is exemplified during Count Dooku vs Yoda, and Yoda vs Darth Sidious). Thirdly, even if he were to use his left hand, being able to move his hand across his body, to absorb such an attack, then redirect it at Velus was highly unlikely as well, since, as stated before, since, from Velus' experience, it couldn't be done in such a small timeframe.

If Sarok attempted to use his legs to attempt to distract Velus by hitting him in his leg, or any part of his body, it wouldn't work, since Velus was out of the range for such a thing. Hopefully the attack would work.

Sarok saw velus move and shoot lighting of some sort at him. Sarok knew the only way he was getting out of this was that he activated his lightsaber just in time to deflect it as velus had only just conjured it up.

Sarok activated his lightsaber trying to take in the full amount of the lightening energy, which wouldn't be a lot since it was a weaker version of the force lightning ability. Then Sarok bean to walk towards velus, after getting back up on his feet the Lightning ached inside him but was no reason for him to be worried, he had come out with only a couple of scratches and Sarok should be grateful as he obviously misinterpreted his opponent.

Sarok seemed to always be the one Initiating the attack, not countering. Maybe this was the Sith plan to have me run in circles for him until he decides to finish me. So Sarok stood there analysing velus who was. Ow out of range of any lightsaber attacks, unless I was to throw my lightsaber but that would be unproductive seeing as velus would just pick it up.

Sarok started walking towards velus spurning his lightsaber across his front in an hour glass motion (SEEN IN GENERAL GRIEVOUS VS OBI WAN) this prevented any more surprises from any force lightning but would give me more opportunities to attack, Sarok had been standing there for five minutes before he had even moved to start walking so he had a trick up his sleeve that nobody would be able to predict, that is if they seen it coming of course.

This may be dirty but it would get the job done. Sarok kept walking all the same swinging his lightsaber in an hourglass motion it covering his entire front part of his body, it would definetely be hard for velus to penetrate its walls without making some damages to himself available.

The Ephicanthix so Sarok dodge his attack again; Velus was impressed, but he still had moves up his sleeve as well. When they faced each other again, like they had in the first round, Velus smirked. He then so Sarok conduct this this manuever and Velus nearly laughed. Not only was it completely useless, it would exhaust Sarok's muscles, no matter how trained he was. There was a reason why people did not do manuevers like that. It was because they did not want to tire themselves during combat.

When Sarok walked to Velus, Velus kepet his combat stance ready. Sooner or later, the Zabrak was going to get tired, and in this manuever, it was going to be in seconds, as no one would be able to maintain that manuever for even 10 seconds. The Ephicanthix moved back, no rocks or anything being able to make him fall/imbalance him/make him lose his balance; additionally, nothing was going to fall on him.

Keep tiring yourself the Ephicanthix stated his mind as he so Sarok do his maneuver.

Sarok still had some tricks up his sleeve. By now this opponent must be thinking that Sarok was tired but Sarok had been fo using on stamina for 70% of his training which gave him an advantage and his lean agile figure would mean he wasn't packing any unwanted weight that could slow him down. By an means Sarok could do this all day, instead he just stood back and waited for his opponents move.
