K'Thund was born en route to a meeting with a Jedi, in 46 BBY, an unknown planet, while on the run from the Empire, as they were a part of Leia's rebellion. K'Thund's mother and father were a freight-runner who was called to action by Landon Calrissian on Exegol, pushing the rebellion over the threshold to beat down the reborn Emperor's fleet. Celebration of the win lead to a pregnancy, and eventually a young male Whiphid to be born. However, the years following were difficult, as every ship involved with the battle of Exegol were subject to bounty among the remnants of the Empire.
The young family of Whiphids had a very difficult choice to make, as they had come to find out their son was Force Sensitive: Force him to live in hiding, or release him to live a better life among the new Jedi Order. The answer was a difficult, but obvious, and was made even more obvious once bounty hunters under the employment of the falling Empire attacked their freighter, nearly killing K'Thund's mother, and the still infantile five year old K'Thund. Enraged, the father fought back, and killed three of the assailants before they found a representative of the Jedi, or rather they were found by one, as their son's presence in the Force was discovered by a Jedi. Ten years shy of one century later, the now 95 year old Whiphid, what would be equivalent to middle age for a human, K'Thund grew up knowing the Jedi as his family, the younglings as they came and gone as his children, and his superiors age with him, and perish just the same. Seeing this has humbled the gentle giant to a wisened state of being, fully aware of his mortality.
K'Thund is a gentle giant, who finds great joy in imparting his knowledge to the next generation of Jedi, though he has never taken on a Padawan learner, for fear that his 'children' would think he had picked a favorite. While that was mostly just a joke, he preferred not to put one of his pupils in danger, and thought the other Knights of the Order would be better suited for such duties. While he takes no joy in harming anyone, he will not stand to be disrespected, not will he allow one to harm his charges without swift action.
Skills/Gear
A skilled practitioner of the double bladed lightsaber, he favors Soresu, and Djem So/Shien, for the heavy focus on defense and reactive offense, and a heavy grounding in Shii-Cho. He is an adept tracker, and naturally powerful unarmed combatant, though his technique is lacking, and his power comes predominantly from his size. His preferred weapon of choice is his phrik-cored quarterstaff, preferring the reach, and non-lethal approach to combat.
As a Force User, K'Thund is an adept at Telekinesis, and is a capable healer. His use of physical augmentation makes him a formidable fighter. While his natural strength makes his melee attacks bone-crushing, he focuses more on augmenting his speed, and deflecting blaster bolts to a masterful degree.
