PERSONALITY:
Although he keeps up the humble student guise, Kuradik Z'han is an ambitious, adapting acolyte preparing for the day he may name himself the coveted title of Darth. Training himself more for dexterity than strength, Kuradik applies his wit to almost everything he does. He has melded his understanding of the force through what he believes is right, not taking a copy from his teacher's speeches. A borderline social introvert, Kuradik makes few friends, and speaks in short replies, excluding interactions with friends or teachers, in which case he can be an apt pupil, or a confident ally. In addition to his social qualms, he is also a very careful man, showing no problem from backing down from a fight he would easily lose, but could just as easily avoid. Kuradik may not yet know what it truly means to be Sith, but he understands what the more brute acolytes could interpret it as. This is a key factor of his social outlook, and the reason Kuradik tends to hone his ability, and speed before ever considering his strength. In his mind, you do not need to be physically strong to truly hurt your enemies, you simply need to know where he is weakest.

BIOGRAPHY:
From the start, Kuradik Z'hain was destined to fail.

Born into an Imperial military family, Kuradik's lineage was filled with heroes of the imperium, and even a few notable Sith as well. His father, Vruin, was raised on stories of the great Sith his family had produced, idolizing not only them, but the sith as a whole. Unfortunately he was not force sensitive, and joined the Stormtroopers where he spent most of his life. Soon his career reached a standstill, and Vruin hatched a plan that would lead his family to the forefront of Imperial fame: have a force sensitive child. As simplistic, and luck- based the idea was, it was a plan all the same. Besides, Vruin thought, there are ways to insure you have the child you desire. He found his oppurtunity when he met a woman while recovering from an injury sustained during a mission. Lendra Harth was from an imperial family as well, with a large amount of force sensitivity shown throughout it's history. Vruin, and Lendra soon 'fell in love', and were married.

Some years later, after Vruin had retired from the Stormtrooper corps, he had two sons. The first was named Daunt after one of the Sith from Lendra's side of the family. Daunt was raised very poorly for a child 'destined for greatness', and was spoiled, and pampered due to his force sensitivity. 4 years later, another child was born, and was name Kuradik after a military captain from Vruin's side of the family. Emotionally neglected by his parents due to his lack of force sensitivity at birth. Kuradik was hardened by this, and became a more ideal Sith than his brother. He soon grew to despise Daunt for everything he was.

When Kuradik turned 17, he privately started to exhibit force sensitivity. He hid this fact from his parents, and brother who themselves were preparing to present Daunt's power to one of the Sith once he turned 24. Daunt barely tried at his training, preferring recreation over study. He disliked the work it took to learn basic saber styles, and introductory force usage. But while Daunt was off wasting time, Kuradik was training himself. He learned theoretical saber techniques, and learned how to move small objects with the force from an old holocron of one of his ancestors, the Sith never gave his name, but Kuradik came to adore the man, and viewed him as the father he should have had.

This aged Sith holocron had taught him more than his parents were ever willing, or able to teach. He told him of the ways of the Sith, how power, strength, and guile were praised above all. The man told of times where the only thing that had saved his life was himself, how killing is only a means to an end, how hesitation can lead to a downfall, but how foolish acts can lead to ruin, as well. Finally, the holocron offered it's final, chilling insight. The Sith explained that the force had granted him with a vision of a day when his bloodline would be unable to join the Sith, but not due to lack of force sensitivity. He explained that their family would fall to the wayside forever if they were unable to be accepted into the order. The man wished him luck, speaking directly to Kuradik, and using his descendants name before vanishing.

Daunt turned 24, and as planned Vruin contacted the Sith order. The Sith arrived a week later, and Kuradik was finally prepared. The imposing figure of the Sith Sentry created an air of tension in their home as he looked over Daunt. The man was not satisfied with what he saw, and made numerous glances at Kuradik during Daunt's failure of a performance. The Sith was very unimpressed with the oldest son, he failed in the one area the Sith wanted to see: telekinesis. He was exhausted after lifting the large cube provided by the recruiter. The Sentry then asked Kuradik to step forward, and his parents meekly corrected that their younger son could not use the force.

Both the recruiter, and Kuradik himself begged to differ.

He revealed his power to his family as he near effortlessly lifted the cube that had exhausted his brother. The Sith smirked as Kuradik flung the cube directly at Daunt, missing by mere inches. His parents were shocked at this display. The Sith was deeply satisfied with Kuradik's display, and offered him a place at the sith academy as an acolyte. There was only one condition, the Sith explained. He had come here to recruit his brother, and by rights Daunt should be the one brought back to the academy. If Daunt was in no condition to become an acolyte than he would become the ideal second choice. Kuradik understood what the recruiter wanted, and asked if he may borrow the Sith's weapon. He granted Kuradik's request, and handed him one of his two lightsabers.

Kuradik activated the blade, and held it horizontally to admire the crimson weapon. It was elegantly crafted, but practical, and lethal. He felt as if he was lost in the glow until he realized he had been walking forward. He looked past the blade to see Daunt on his knees in front of him; fear, and tears in his eyes. Kuradik felt pride as he rose the blade above his head, and brought it crashing down diagonally across his brother. Seconds after the halves of what used to be Daunt hit the floor, Kuradik began to notice the screams of his parents, or rather, his mother. He turned back to see that his father was holding his mother back at the waist as the distraught woman shouted insult after insult at her last living son. He locked eyes with his father for a moment, and saw the man he grew to resent nod his approval before he turned again to face the sith.

That was the first time Kuradik had legitimately thought his father was proud of him. The feeling was new, but not unexpected, for he had watched Daunt effortlessly earn their parents confidence by doing basically nothing. Daunt, he thought, deserved what came to him, but that didn't stop Kuradik from feeling very sick. His hands shook, and he felt the beginnings of tears well up behind his eyes. All those times he had wished his brother dead so that he would have their parents' affection were suddenly eclipsed by memories of the few good times he had shared with his older brother. The emotional turmoil was almost too much, and Kuradik felt his knees weaken as he let his eyes rest on the lightsaber he held in front of him. His mother's cries, his father's gaze, and the judgemental eyes of the Sith that stood in front of him suddenly didn't matter anymore, and he let the world pass around him.

Kuradik felt lost until suddenly, he felt a hand rest on his shoulder. Kuradik focused back in to reality to see that the Sith was in front of him, gripping his shoulder in an act of respect. He looked up, and into the eyes of the sith before him. Even under the black hood of his robe, Kuradik could still see the recruiter's eyes. How the irises glowed as if they were fiery pools of red. The Sentry calmly took back his saber, and at a whisper he said a phrase that Kuradik would never forget.

"This, my friend, is what it means to be Sith. To take back a destiny long denied, and ascend above it, to recreate it as you see fit, as only men like us can. Welcome to the dark side, Kuradik Z'hain."

Kuradik let the phrase sink in, and nodded to the recruiter. If this feeling is what came along with being a Sith, then Kuradik would embrace it, no, command it. The Sith motioned with his free hand to the door, and the newly christened acolyte obeyed, and set out into the new future that he had forged for himself.

I like this; a strong, realistic and clear backstory and a well thought out personality. He shares some traits with my Sith Satoryu, they're both social introverts and they'll both run from a fight if they start to loose XD

However I am slightly critical of the death of his brother. Even if Kuradik's brother annoyed and disagreed with him, I don't believe that would have been enough to provoke homicidal intentions. Kuradik had not even entered the Sith Order at that stage, and would be still be very much in touch with his morals. The death of his brother is a pivotal and dramatic event in the story, so you need to go into more detail about the sibling's relationship and the extent of Kuradik's dislike of Daunt and how it developed. Did he ever think about killing his brother prior to his encounter with the Sith Lord? If so, what provoked that other than simple dislike, was he influenced by the holocron perhaps?

From what you describe, it sounds like he could look like Teneb Kel:

Well, it wasn't as if he ever had a homicidal intention for his brother, but he recognized what the sith wanted from him. I didn't go into great detail about what the holocron had been telling, other than what he learned physically. Although this wasn't written down, i assumed that the sith had also been telling him about the ideals of his order, and what it would take to fully become sith. In hindsight, i should probably edit it to add another paragraph explaining that, which i probably will. Also, reading over the backstory, i am SERIOUSLY going to have to clean those sentences up, they sound really choppy when read. Thanks for the input by the way.

Also, the most annoying thing about your post is that i was originally going to make him look like Teneb Kel, but couldnt find a good enough picture. Then you, to explain what he looks like, posts a great picture of him. Gah dangit...

Aww not gonna use Teneb? You can have more than one pic if you want. Another thing, if you want to make your picture centred, just paste IMG code along with the URL in between [CENTER.][/CENTER.], just remove the .

I like this guy's back story a lot actually and interesting character, Audi might be willing to give him a lesson or two on lightsaber combat and general force manipulation/control.

Thanks, once i get approved we should definitely set something up, one on one, or otherwise. Reading Audi's profile I can honestly say i'm looking forward to learning saber combat from THAT particular Sith.
