A Brief Tale of the Journeyman of Waskiro

On the planet of Waskiro, Kyo'Dhii was born. An Echani; son of Neru and Desma. Neru was an old soldier from Eshan who'd seen three tours in the war between the Alliance and the Empire. Though Kyo'Dhii never learned which side his father fought for, he suspected it was the Alliance. Why else would he have moved all the way out to some obscure place like Waskiro instead of going back to Eshan? Desma was a songstress who had fallen in love with Neru long before on Eshan. She had vowed to follow him to the corners of the galaxy, and indeed she had.

Kyo'Dhii only has vague memories of his father; a tall, brawny man with a long mane and a beard. Kyo'Dhii imagines he must look something like himself but broader and more aged. Not many years after Kyo'Dhii's birth, his father dissapeared, supposedly without any warning. While it was rumored that he was kidnapped or killed, Kyo'Dhii's mother insisted that Neru was too powerful a man for it to have been against his will. His father's disappearance had remained a fascinating, if grim, mystery to Kyo'Dhii throughout his childhood.

Both Kyo, as many of his friends called him growing up, and his mother were resentful towards his father for disappearing. At the same time, they understood that whatever burden drew him away from them must surely have carried great weight. Kyo's mother did her best to raise him, teaching him the Echani culture of combat along with the values that any mother must impart on her child. Desma earned a great deal of respect from her son over the years she spent taking care of him, and he too looked for opportunities to earn similar respect. Kyo'Dhii wanted nothing more as he grew older than to prove to her that she had not wasted her time.

As he grew older, it became apparent that Kyo was both naturally intelligent and academically inclined. Always interested and engaged, often growing bored once something became too simple. Although he had many friends growing up, he never had problems with getting into trouble. Ironically, Kyo was always attracted to the idea of trouble growing up, but knew better than to seek it. In truth, Kyo'Dhii did not change much as he grew older.

In his heart, Kyo longed for adventure since childhood. He would often trek into the wilderness not far from home with a band of friends and make up stories, pretending they were Jedi and Sith or soldiers or lost miners. Kyo'Dhii hoped in all of his dreams to set out for adventure once he reached adult-hood, a reality that creeped closer with every passing year. When Kyo finally graduated from his schooling, he trekked across Waskiro for a year completely alone for nearly a year. That adventure nearly cost him his life on several occasions, but when he returned home he knew he had become a man.

After reuniting with old friends, Kyo decided he was ready to settle down for awhile, but the craving of adventure still gnawed at him. One of his old friends had become a freighter pilot, flying resources from Waskiro's mines to other worlds for trade. Kyo soon found a job guarding his friend's freighter from the region's pirates. He had hoped of saving up enough credits to further his education, but things ended up turning out a little differently. The job never proved as exciting as he had expected, and he ended up leaving the job and settling down on a different world in his home sector.

The world was beautiful and tropical, in contrast to his much colder homeworld. It was called Trogan; a haven for smugglers and outlaws alike, the majority of the population however being the posterity of those who settled down from a life of crime generations ago. It was just the right balance of freedom and security, but the real reason he settled here was because of a monk he met at the port. After a long and deeply stimulating conversation, the monk applauded his wisdom and cognitive potential, offering Kyo'Dhii an opportunity to study under him at a monastery on the world's surface, not too far disconnected from civilization.

Kyo accepted the the monk's offer with enthusiasm, he would have the opportunity to experience the purest form of education without any sort of payment. Wisdom for the sake of wisdom. Kyo'Diih spent the next four years of his life as an apprentice monk under the teachings of the man who would become his greatest friend, Master Wolfgang of Trogan. Master Wolfgang was not the oldest or the wisest of the monks at Trogan's monastery, but he was cunning far beyond the years of Kyo, and he had handpicked Kyo'Dhii for his potential and Wolfgang's personal curiosity in the young man.

After four years, his apprenticeship had officially ended and he was to set off on a pilgrimage to seek more worldly experience before returning for further study. The journeyman began his pilgrimage by hiring himself out as a guard for a smuggling vessel heading out of the sector. During the trip, the vessel was hijacked by pirates who'd stowed away before takeoff. Kyo'Dhii was able to kill one his captors, but was then quickly subdued. After being brought on board a pirate vessel, Kyo'Dhii soon found himself alongside the very men who'd kidnapped him.

Kyo grew accustomed to the lifestyle of piracy, loving the freedom and challenge that came with it. Before long, he ended up as a pirate captain himself, but his ambition turned out to be his downfall and he ended up in an Imperial Jail sentenced for life. Kyo was filled with regret and anguish for some time before he was purchased as a slave by a Sith apprentice who sought to use him to help pass his trials. Instead, the apprentice's master gave Kyo'Dhii the opportunity to free himself by killing the young Sith, which Kyo'Dhii did, if only by the skin of his teeth.

With no credits and a curiosity for Korriban, Kyo'Dii stayed on the world for some time. Korriban eventually came to feel like a home to Kyo, although Kyo never tended to keep a home for long. At this point, Kyo'Dhii was only 27 years of age in the year 1,022 ABY. His skin was fair with black tattoos covering much of his upper body, including arms and wrists. His skull was adorned with two slender prosthetic horns where his hair met his forehead. The horns, which he had implanted for show during his time as a pirate, caused a slight part in the hair behind either one. His white hair was long and ruffled like the fur of a coyote. His face was comprised of a freckled complexion over a soft nose and pronounced cheekbones below a set of deep, silver eyes and a heavy, uneven brow. Below those features, on strong triangular jaw grew a thick stubble that was shaved often.

Kyo stood at 6'3 and weighed around 180 pounds, primarily of lean muscle. He carried no weapons since the day of his release, but sought to find his old Echani longsword after it had been lost during his capture. He was never certain whether it ended up in Imperial hands or with another pirate. Regardless, the weapon was a gift from his mother and held sentimental value.

To you who have killed me, I commend you.
If I have not been killed, I commend myself.
Regardless, if you have somehow gained possession of this journal, I would ask a great favor of you: Please read its contents and bring it to whichever living person it mentions whom you personally judge 'ought to have it.

It would be a good idea to put up some stats to better define your character. And labeling individual things wouldn't hurt either.

Yes, I will definitely be adding more structure and detail later on. For now, this is a good base to build off of. As things move along, I will invest more time into the profile to further enrich his character, but he's got to earn it first. Mostly, I will probably just add things as they become necessary or convenient. I don't want to put too much time into a character until I know I like them; if you've ever made that mistake, you'll know what I mean.

Also, I understand it's not pretty to look at right now. Just a daunting block of text that 'aint nobody got time for. It'll change once I become more comfortable and I get the reward of using him.
