"Why won't she take a padawan?"
"I haven't a clue, she never seemed adverse to the idea when I was teaching her."
"Could you do something about it? No one will take her seriously as a knight until she takes a student."
"No one has ever taken her seriously, Colm. She's just so damn restless."
"I can fix that, she can-"
"No, she can't, she relies heavily on the Force- no real light saber skills."
"What do I do with her then?"
"Give her something to do that she won't hate to do."
"And what would that be?"
"...something she can't do."
"You just..."
"It's easy to get under your skin."
"In that case she's not my problem, send her somewhere where she can even out her rough edges."

Name: Laida
Age: 25
Status: Jedi Knight
Force sensitive: Yes

The only information regarding her arrival in the Jedi was that her name was Laida. There was no last name, parents, or home planet. She was Laida and she was force sensitive, she also didn't speak Basic at the time and putting her past experiences into words was difficult as she was taught to communicate with her other Jedi.

When asked about her tattoos she replies that they are cultural, by this she means that she doesn't know. When pressed for an explanation she makes something up, usually a creationism tale. The tattoos run from her shoulders down to the middle of her arms, the work looks cut off, but not lacking.

Laida is the first of a generation of Jedi to be raised in war. Where most Jedi excelled at light saber combat she fell behind and leaned upon the force. eventually she abandoned the light saber in favour of a sword, in the old style of the Jedi.

She was knighted at the age of twenty-three, an average time to reach the rank. Only hours after she was knighted, she was off. She was sighted on Coruscant first, then a dozen other planets, eventually arriving on Ossus after the attack that destroyed the temple on Coruscant. She'd matured and calmed down, her restlessness toned down to a heightened curiosity.

On Ossus Laida was confronted at once by her old master and convinced to take a Padawan. She had her own plans though, and the second she found a Padawan she was off to Bothawui. On Bothawui she confronted a star pilot who she was able to convince to give them passage.

Her padawans name, Bahadur, a warrior skilled in combat; he required guidance in the force. She taught him directly about mastery of the force, but she planted a seed of creativity. She hoped he would realize the way she used the force every day, she hoped he would learn to imitate her.

Their wandering brought them to Nar Shaddaa, the center of crime in the galaxy. She had Bahadur watch as the city lived it's life. Bahadur learned self control, he had to be able to see evil and keep his cool. She allowed him to deal justice and realize the possible repercussions of what were perceived as good. She learned her own lessons as she watched.

The desire to be a simple Jedi was lost. Deep meditation lead the Knight to a conclusion that the Jedi and her were not in alignment. With that in mind she politely said her goodby to her padawan and master. There were no hard feelings or distaste for the order.

She first decided that she needed to strike out and learn. The force guided her to the Baran Do. She was granted permission to receive instruction in their ways. Here she developed her abilities on foresight. Her strong affinity in the force flourished here and her masters were pleased with her progress.

She left soon after developing her abilities in foresight. She was only moderately skilled in it's use, only able to glimpse into the future. She needed time to develop her skills.

She would continue around the galaxy and learn it's ways. She arrived on the planet Ando in time to foresee the death of the Bogan. She waited on the planet and completed her tattoos. Now they reached across her entire body and ended at her palms, neck, and ankles.

Laida was ready to take lesson from the Bogan.

And so she did. On the planet Ando, she came across a number of Dark Jedi, it was as if the force had brought them to her. These Bogan played directly into her hand, nearly opening their minds to her she sifted through knowledge.

That same conversation turned to combat, but she was victorious after severing her enemies hand, winning the others around her some level of respect. She boarded a ship to another part of Ando where she came across Zara, a powerful Bogan.

A prize had been presented to her beyond any she could have dreamed, Zara was tricked by a Bogan and sedated. Foolishly Zara was left in Laida's tattooed hands, Laida killed Zara and unraveled the Bogan Masters brain for information. Armed with the vast knowledge and understanding from the kill, she was captured by a Jedi and arrested. To Laida's surprise, she found that she was being forced to go where she wished, right to the Council.

early will I seek thee:
my soul thirsteth for thee,
my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land,
where no water is;
to see thy power and thy glory,

so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
Because thy loving-kindness is better than life,

my lips shall praise thee.
Thus will I bless thee while I live:

I will lift up my hands in thy name.
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness;

and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
when I remember thee upon my bed,

and meditate on thee in the night watches.
Because thou hast been my help,

therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
My soul followeth hard after thee:

thy right hand upholdeth me.
But those that seek my soul, to destroy it,

shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
They shall fall by the sword:

they shall be a portion for foxes.
But the king shall rejoice in God;

every one that sweareth by him shall glory:
but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped. ~Psalm 63
