PETS: Damascus is Jake's Akk dog. She is very old and blind, but Jake uses her keen sense of smell to track down people from time to time. She is a smaller variety of Akk dog typically used as guard animal in the home. She is very loyal to Jake and would never harm him. She would lay down her life to protect him. She was given to him as a gift when they were both young.
PERSONALITY:
Jake Stillow is eager to learn more and share his knowledge with others. He can be quiet and reserved and even get nervous around new people and crowds. He was disrupted and resettled numerous times as the Jedi fled Sith persecution. He became anxious in new situations as a result, always waiting for the day he would have to pick up and flee again. Due to many near brushes with death, and the loss of several mentors, he's developed an unhealthy fear of death. The force helps center him during these times but after extremely close calls he can fall into a panic attack.
He believes he is smarter than most his age and is arrogant about it. He loves reading and letting his imagination run. He likes to put his knowledge into practice and will often tinker with gear in an attempt to build new things and modify existing tech.
Jake wants to become both a strong warrior and a strong force user. He is a very athletic and intelligent man. His competitive spirit pushes him to the front of the pack. Meanwhile his smarts push him to want to learn new force techniques. Jake is typically content and able to entertain himself for long periods with nothing more than a book. He’ll often read of some skill, ability, or survival method and believe he is capable of doing the same and often lacks the technical skill to actually accomplish it.
BIOGRAPHY:
Jake is half Korunnai. His parents are currently living on Corellia and own SpaceCraft Maintenance, a small maintenance shop for any space vehicle. At age six and a half he was approached by a Jedi Knight who realized Jake’s connection with the force and suggested to Jake’s parents that they should consider allowing him to be trained. Although concerned with the current attitude toward Jedi, his parents decided that Jake’s future would be better with the Jedi than following his parents' footsteps. They gave Jake an Akk dog to accompany him through his new trials and to be a constant and friendly face in his new surroundings. They were also hoping that their shy son would be able to have at least one friend to keep him company on his new journey. Though his parents were heart struck by the idea of their son leaving; his parents weren’t sure if they would survive the Imperial Civil War and knew the best place for Jake to survive would be with the Jedi far away from Sith and Imperial hands.
Jake trained with the Jedi for a short while spending many nights in the library with his Master and Damascus. He learned a lot in that time and seemed to be well on his way to becoming a Padawan. Two years into his training a Sith killed his master and Jake barely escaped with his life.
With all of the Jedi dead or hiding out attempting to survive; Jake's training stalled as he attempted to train himself. He spent much of his youth begging on Tatooine. There he hid in the desert for several years, reading, learning and growing as much as he could. With the recent attacks that revealed the Jedi, Jake has determined to rejoin the Jedi and fight the Sith once again. He's nervous about how he'll be treated. He has grown old and may not be teachable. He also did not join the Galactic Alliance in rebellion as apparently many of his Jedi brothers felt compelled to do. He can only hope that his constant training and education will give him some benefit in the long run.
