Ziost was a planet Ryujin had hardly visited during his time as a Sith. Weird considering how close it was to the planets which had become his ‘home’ over the past few years. This ball of floating rock wasn't anything to shout about however, it was at least not a ball of burning fury that was for one. Ryujin was able to wear something comfortable for a change on one of these missions, a combat uniform with a little production from stray shrapnel. Without worrying that he was about to sweat out a kidney.

A trio of Sith ISB operatives were manning a small observation point buried within one of the small gullies that dotted the landscape. Ryujin had arrived on a speeder bike, the dust of which was hidden behind the rise he just quickly crested. Moving in behind the ISB Captain he nodded to the man before speaking. “Report Captain.” The man straightened up realising this was the man sent by the Inquisitorius. “Sir. Little movement since the last report.” He looked over his shoulder expecting something to happen. “I was to understand there are others with you Sir, is that not the case?”

Ryujin looked back in the direction he came and couldn’t see anyone. “Yes, it appears there just late, that's all. You can wait till they are here for the report. Captain.” Ryujin opened up a small canteen and took a sip as he waited for his colleagues.

Eramis had ventured almost everywhere she could within the Sith Empire's borders. Her wanderlust had actually never brought her to Zoist and it's familiar arid climate. If it wasn't so barren and dry, it would have reminded the Dathomarian of her home planet. The Nightsister was excited to be on such a planet nonetheless, and hoped that she would be able to practice her abilities in Shadow Magick for this particular mission.

The young Acolyte was not late in the slightest, however, and was merely on an overhead ledge of some rocky mushroom-shaped spire out of sight, gazing out into the horizon before Ryujin Izanagi and the leading ISB Captain asked about the whereabouts of Izanagi's companions. So, she simply walked off the ledge, mainly as an excuse to use her abilities with Shadow Magick to slow her fall through levitation.

This group were all but strangers to Eramis, but strangers never bothered her before. Her curiosity and seemingly naïve nature had made her several friends, so hopefully those attributes would assist in doing the same thing today. Communication was a necessary key to an effective relationship- whether it be a private to a captain in the middle of combat, or two love-birds trying to make a long-distance relationship work.

Relationships were weird, weren't they? Everything had one. Your lungs with oxygen and even your blood with your heart.

Or, in Eramis' case, the Dark Side and herself.

Hovering Over The Observation Point

"Dampening thrusters now...Standby as engines throttle to thirty percent." The sound of the Pilot's words called through the deck as the lights dimmed and the gentle blinking of the buttons danced across the bridge. A soft hueeee sound whizzed across the bridge as the pilot pulled down on the throttle, causing the slipspace of lightspeed to cut away to the atmosphere of the planet Ziost.

It was a strange world, a relic of the Sith. This much the Lieutenant knew, but it seemed for all intents and purposes to be left in the shadows. The crew that had once questioned the Chiss had come to grow used to him and accepted his leadership after the victory in the Void. Today would be no different.

The Chiss would motion for the ship to continue into the atmosphere and ascend over the area as a sign of Imperial might. While the crew worked, the Imperial Officer would step before the bridge's holo-terminal, clicking several buttons before kneeling. "This is Lieutenant Zeseth, the Silent Observer is on standby and awaiting your command m'lord."

Ryujin paid the Dathmorian Witch little mind when she jumped off the side of the rock formation landing rather elegantly with her Magicks. It was not a new trick anymore, it seemed at least half the empire seemed to have access to the Dathmorian Magicks now, so seeing one more display of their furious power was not going to raise the Inquisitors eyebrows. Instead he went about his usual practice of examining the women, the way she walked, carried herself, when she would eventually speak how she spoke, what she spoke. Everyone he met was a suspect and every suspect needed a file, one he would slowly grow over the minutes he spent with that person.

The file titled ‘Zeseth’ opened with the line ‘Fucking Idiot’. You see he had chosen to come to this mission where they were due to close in on the cultists and eliminate with efficiency, with a force be damned spaceship. The Inquisitor gritted his teeth and shook his head as the Chiss made his statement over the comn.

Already movement and panic was erupting within the cultist camp, I mean wouldn’t you if an Imperial spaceship appeared above your house. “It seems we don’t have time for a briefing Captain. Call all Imperial forces you have available and set up a land blockade. We can’t have any of them escaping.” Ryujin then quickly moved to the open comn the second ISB operative had next to him. “I am not a Lord and you are damn lucky I’m not one.” He shouted down the comn. “Your orders are to stop anything leaving by air and make sure your shots down blast us if you miss.”

Throwing the Comn at the ISB operative he turned to the Dathmorian, “I guess we better get moving. Ladies first.” He said pointing towards the camp as he stepped out of the gully and towards the camp.

Preparing the Strike

The Chiss smirked a bit beneath his visage as the picture vanished from view. To think such a display was foolish? Perhaps time would tell, but the Imperial had no plans on simply allowing the cultists to escape from their grasp. Instead he would move forward along the bridge of the ship, his eyes drawn towards the battlefield below.

"Divert the thrusters and cool the engines into a slow across the encampment, revert energy into our weapons systems. We will show them the might of the Empire." He stepped forward away from the window, glancing down towards the communications officer. "Prepare the main guns, divert our Ion Cannon towards the target's shield generators. Move two proton launchers seventy five degrees downwards and warm, the other two adjust 65 degrees west, targeting the generators"

He'd make his way back to the command table, tapping against the side of the lip as their ship shuttered and groaned. He could feel the vibrations as their orbital gun was fully prepped. He counted down the nano-seconds in his head, familiar with everything that ticked within his ship.

"Ion Cannon has reached fire capacity, Proton torpedos are nearly prepped for fire." One of the Ensigns responded from his position along the bridge.

Zeseth closed his eyes for a moment before nodding. "Fire the Ion Cannon." The ship would boom and jut with the heavy fire of their cannon's systems, sending a flicker through the system's electrical components. Those on the ground would see a large blast head down towards the base, striking at the shield's systems with white light that flashed around the camp as the shield dropped and their base was left completely open to attack.

"Fire the proton torpedoes," Zezeth called out with delight as he saw the markings streak across the camp's diagram in the direction of both the generator and the hangar. The torpedo shots would silently hit the area, before binding themselves together and expanding, sending a large proton explosion that destroyed the generators and hangars with a deathly wave.

Only a few fighter pilots had escaped from the hangar in time and came streaking towards the corvette. "Your opening is secured, the shields are down. We'll be on standby as you move in. Our Cannons will be prepped for a Base Delta Zero in case of an emergency. For the Empire." His hand moved off the broadcasting channel. Every good infestation needs gassed out to be cleansed.

The carnage brought by the Chiss and his brigade of trigger happy technicians and gunners caused for Eramis' brow to slightly furrow. These cultists reminder her of her own tribes back home. They were not merely savages- they were living breathing people with a conscious like herself. Like the ISB operatives that surrounded her. Breaking her focus on the brewing chaos was Izanagi's chivalrous comment about getting a move on things.

"Why thank you, Inquisitor." Eramis smiled warmly before taking the lead as asked. She drew her plasma bow, first, and went into a low crouch as if she were hunting. The cultists were expecting a fight and with the loss of their defenses, they were either going to plan an evacuation or scatter themselves to make them harder to get rid of. Now, instead of people, Eramis was thinking of them as pests.

"I'm going to flank them from behind." Eramis stated, as she ventured off towards the left side of the camp. Stealth was practically her middle name, something that was grilled into her training when she was just a little girl back on Dathomir. If Eramis had no interest in the Sith Empire, she would've stuck out as an assassin, but luckily for her the Sith Empire was always looking for employees of all kinds. This mission was more of a way for Eramis to figure out where she fit in the Empire. Was she a sorcerer like her Queen? Was she really just an assassin that worked for the ISB special forces? Or did she fit in with Ryujin as an Inquisitor?

Hopefully, by the end of this battle, she would find out.

Pulling the purple plasmatic string back, with her face covered by her red hood and mask, the Nightsister took aim upon a group of cultists putting together an offensive wall. She eyed a pair putting an E-WEB together and decided that the power pack hooked up to the monster of a weapon would be her first target. So, she took aim, held her breath, and let go of the string with a sigh, watching the purple plasma arrow fly through the air right into it's target.

The explosion was a little much, but at least the heavy blaster was taken care of, and the cultists still seemed to take no hint as to what caused the explosion either. Something Eramis was excited to further take advantage of.

Ryujin gritted his teeth as the idiotic turbolaser jockey decided to power up his weapons and let hell rain down on the cultists camp. Did the fool not understand that the weapons he was using were built to destroy ships five times the size of the little camp he was attacking. Yes it had a shield but all that would stop would be shots from the outside not from the…

He didn’t have time to finish his thought as a shockwave washed over him pushing him down to one knee. “Fraking Idiot shooting Torpedos.” He screamed at the ship high above. Sand blanketed the area around him, Ryujin could perhaps see three or feet in front of him, not great when trying to assault a heavily fortified base which was keenly aware it was being assaulted.

Blue bolts from blasters began ripping through the dust. Without a second thought Ryujin pulled out his single bladed lightsaber. A beam of red light appeared from its hilt highlighting the area around him in an iridescent glow. The blade was both a benefit and detriment to the Sith, on one hand it stopped blaster bolts ripping into his chest, the other the glowing red stick was like a spot light for those shooting into the dust.

He could only approach slowly through both the dust and the blaster fire, he only hoped the Dathmorian was doing well and the flying idiot wouldn’t bring more issues down upon their heads.

The Chiss would motion to deploy the few starfighters his cruiser came equipped with, and watched with great interest as the few ragged old TIEs came screeching towards his ship. Their light fire plastered against his shield defenses, but they mostly felt like a flea on a wampa's back. He smirked a bit to himself as his own ships moved out to meet them in the air. He wasn't worried about their starfighters, but instead turned his attention back to the battlefield.

With a press of a button he would deploy probe droids which would jettison from the ship and soar towards the battlefield with scans running through the heavy debris and smoke. Slowly data would begin to feed and would be transmitted to Ryu and the ISB agents below. If there were anyone alive in there, their pinpoint locations would slowly begin to trickle in. Though the Chiss himself said nothing through the comms.

It did not take long for Eramis to slip past the frontlines, infiltrating the inner ranks of the camp. Usually, espionage was not one of Eramis' favorite tasks to carry out as she preferred direct confrontation with the enemy, but because of Zeseth's very forward assault there was no need for a stealthy take down. So, Eramis proceeded to rummage through their supplies until she came across a bag filled with five thermal detonators. The Nightsister snatched it and ducked behind cover to avoid a rushing group of cultists preparing to set up a defensive perimeter.

I don't think so. Eramis went to work, setting the timer for the explosives to thirty seconds after she laid them strategically around the untouched part of camp. Thanks to the brewing chaos around her, sneaking around was so much easier than it would've been if the Chiss hadn't decided to obliterate the cultists. Still, the decision was brash and rather harsh for the Acolyte. They were people, too, whether Zeseth liked it or not.
And here she was, ready to start another round of fireworks after sympathizing for the enemy. The poor people should've chosen the right side when they had the chance, and it was a pity that they had to all die so violently.

Eramis took cover in the camp as the explosives went off.
"There's your opening, Inquisitor. And tell the Chiss to calm down."

The dust was slowly starting to settle, the view of the underside of the Chiss’ ship could now be seen. The idiot had stopped firing down on the small camp, but now the tell-tale screech of TIE Fighters echoed through the valley as they went about their business. As the dust cleared Ryujin was becoming an easier target from those shooting him from afar, the Inquisitor was truly getting a workout in defence today.

The heavy blaster fire died down however after a number of explosions behind the lines catapulted the shooters from their positions. Their bodies were strewn into hundreds of pieces by the thermal detonators. Ryujin did not wait to act, pulling The Force within himself; he used it to launch his body towards the line with blinding speed.

Flipping over the overturned defences he was quickly within the disrupted lines of the enemy, his red bladed lightsaber jolted out removing limbs and lives from any cultist that stood in his path. “Remove the fighters from the camp. Leave the rest for questioning.” He called quickly through the comn to both the Dathmorian with him and the ISB agents moving in from the surrounding area.

"Lieutenant Zeseth, this is Wraith-1, we've taken out the last of the enemy TIE positions, moving into a holding pattern." The sound of a fighter's voice cracked through the bridge's holo-terminal. The young Lieutenant gave a simple nod before flicking away the image and returning it back to the battlefield.

The Imperial Navy had finished delivering and transcoding the enemy positions within the camp, it was now up to the ISB and the Sith Coalition to complete their part of the mission. His smiled crossed his face as he watched the subtle explosions continue from below. Perhaps his methodology had been too cruel for these cultists, but he didn't seem to mind. The real answers that the Empire sought was hidden in those bunkers, the victims on the top were mere roaches to be exterminated in his eyes.

The large cruiser shifted a bit, as he motioned to power down the weapons, and pull off to the side of the camp, so they could have a better view on anything going on, in the opposite side of the canyon. Today would be a good day for the Empire, that much seemed true.

"Yes, sir." Eramis replied through her com link. The mission seemed to be coming to a close as ISB units began rounding up the remaining cultists as well as taking out the remaining starships left behind from the ravaged camp. The Nightsister had kept an eye out for any others who sought escape, making sure to close any gaps accordingly with her plasma bow. She enjoyed being in the presence of the ISB and the Inquisitor and wondered if she could have a place among these interesting forces.

Stealth, infiltration, and assassination were some of her specialties that Eramis though she could put to good use in some sort of covert intelligence ops. After a few minutes had passed with no sign of any escapees or survivors, Eramis circled back to Ryujin,
"Is the ISB still hiring Force sensitives?" She pulled down her hood and mask. "Preferably the Inquisitorious."

Ryujin moved with ruthless efficiency through the edges of the camp, where the thickest fighting still took place. It was slowly thinning out, which was good, less fighters meant less chances of being shot in the chest. But as they retreated into the shadows around the site, the chances of being shot in the back steadily increased. The Force flowed through his body amplifying his senses as he stalked through the cultists camp under the shadow of the cruiser.

One by one they would leap out looking to plunge a knife, vibroblade, blaster or something else into his back and each time he would take them out, slowly whittling down the manpower pool of the cultists. By the time he had finished removing the resistance in the area, the ISB were near. The sound of blasters was now few and far between, pockets of armed cultists were still around but most surrendered, knowing their fate was either death or servitude.

As the dust settled and the smoke began to bellow out from the camp the Dathmorian Eramis appeared beside him. “The ISB is always hiring or so I'm told.” he replied, when she mentioned Inquistorius his eyes narrowed slightly. He was here under his guise as a Sith Champion not that of an Inquisitor. “In terms of the Inquisitorius, I would not have a clue. I heard you need to be born to one to be one.” It was a lie, but one he had heard circulate around the halls of the Sith a few times, so there was some substance to it.

The reports of the enemy's surrender had begun to blink across the various reporting that was coming in from the ship's communication relay, things were settling down and the cruiser had seen no activity from the other side of the canyon. Their job was finished, even if the Sith had his own opinions on the way the Navy had come to handle the situation, but the Chiss didn't seem to care.

With a press of a button, he would flag his TIEs to return to the docking station as the bridge crew began to prepare their thrusters for a rapid deployment from the sector. A mouse droid whizzed by as the messages began to deploy to the crew of the ship. "This is Lieutenant Zeseth, the naval portion of this operation is complete, and the base is pulverized. These rats and the other infestations will know not to challenge the might of the Empire."

His message broadcast across all frequencies as their engines roared to life. "The Silent Observer is redeploying to the Imperial Capital. We're standing by for launch in 30 seconds." His finger pressed off the button as he looked up towards the viewport from his command post. Within an instant the lights would flicker and a sonic boom would shutter from the ship as it skipped out of the atmosphere and away from the campaign site.

Eramis was good at looking unfettered by the world around her, especially when she wasn't aloof at all. You had to be born of an Inquisitor to be an Inquisitor? That did not sound right...but maybe that was because it was probably right and Eramis didn't want it to be. Well, it wouldn't matter anyway because the Nightsister decided that she was going to to do everything in her power to join the most feared group of the ISB. If it meant more missions like this where she could spread the grip of her Queen throughout the galaxy like this, then that was where she belonged.

"Well, I'll look into it." Her tone was flat and blatant. "If you're right...then I'll prove you wrong." This time she smiled at the Sith Champion playfully. Ryujin seemed oddly tense about such a simple question. Maybe he had tried getting into the Inquisitorious but couldn't get in. That would've made Eramis pissed off enough to grumble about Inquisitors if some newbie tried attaining the same spot she failed to claim.

"Sorry about asking, Izanagi." Whatever the reason was, the Dathomarian simply didn't want to press on the matter more than she already had. And besides, they had won the battle! There was no need to be frustrated with past failures for today they were the victors. "Maybe I'll see you around." Eramis said. Maybe as an Inquisitor.

Ryujin softened his expression as the women looked at him, she seemed determined to join the Inquisitorius. Which in itself was a good trait to have, however it would need much more than that to be accepted. He had compiled a little on her during this mission to add to her 'File' but it would need to be checked thoroughly before she was 'invited' to join them. He would put in however that she was seeking out a position that should pip Lord Inquisitor Auriel’s attention.

“Well good luck.” He said with a smile, towards the women as the comm link blurted out Zeseth’s annoying voice. The Chiss however would not get any glowing remarks in his ‘File’ it would read more along the line of ‘no understanding of tact’, ‘undermines missions for own gain’. What was to be expected, if the Sith Order were blunt instruments in this war against the Republic. The Navy was like swinging a kitchen table at the enemy, yes it hurt but it didn’t take much thinking to use or dodge.

The Snap and Boom which followed the departure of the Cruiser from orbit, produced a small growl from the depths of Ryujin’s throat as the ISB officer they had met at the canyon approached the Inquisitor. “We are commencing the final stages of clean up. Thank you for your help Champion Izanagi.” Ryujin gave the man a nod, he would stick around in case there was any further trouble or if an interesting bit of information was spilled. Best put directly into the ‘Files’ instead of being passed down second handed by the ISB.
