BIOGRAPHY
As far as I know they’ve been creating supersoldiers out of Force-sensitive children since before I’ve been born. Enhanced bone structures, engineered limbs and the complete inability to defy orders. Unbelievable that that the clones that had given rise to an Empire were long since surpassed by these new creations. They’re the reason that my modest self is living off of scraps and odd jobs like the occasional murder-for-the-right-price. Who am I? I’m a former special agent of the Coruscant intelligence, name’s Lester DeWitt, and I’m one of those fools that refused to enter into the service of the Empire. Could’ve fared a lot better if I did, but then I wouldn’t have the intense pleasure of living on this pit of misery they call the DSC Daedalus, so you could argue that I could’ve done much worse as well.
I was born on Coruscant and enrolled into the agency when my affinity with languages was discovered. Although I have no Force powers, I was smart, you see. I picked up languages that were foreign to me in a matter of days and this interested the powers-that-were on the city-planet. They put me to rigorous testing when I was still a child and through even more rigorous training when I started to grow into adulthood. My days were filled with nothing but hand-to-hand combat, blaster shooting, piloting and the subtle skill of lying out of my arse and making it seem like the most honest truth (I wasn’t so good at the latter, truth be told). Ofcourse, when the Empire launched its invasion and ruined the planet, my employers became the-power-that-had-once-been and I figured I’d be safer if I didn’t pick any side and risk being hacked or slashed to pieces by supersoldiers and Force-wielders on either side. The space station along the Hydian Way seemed the place to go.
As I briefly mentioned earlier, I took all the wrong jobs in order to afford a life outside the slums of District Three. If there was a man owing Club Paradise a gambling debt he couldn’t pay, they’d hire me to break his bones and get more from him than the debt was worth. Sometimes that meant taking a man’s entire family to the slave markets, breaking his limbs and dumping him in the slums for all to see. Examples, the powerful crooks always wanted to see examples made thinking that would scare the bums out of the risky bets. But on a place like Daedalus, especially if you live in the slums, there’s little else you can do than to try and turn those ten credits into a million at the casino’s. The games were rigged, ofcourse, but who was going to tell them that?
There’s no future in it for me, though. I’ve broken too many bones and seen to many young girls being sold to dirty old men to know that I desperately need a change of scenery. A year ago I thought I had finally found a means to leave it all behind and live an honest, stable life with the prospects of building a family in the good districts of the DSC Daedalus. Aegis Security Operations would provide all that and I was too naïve to think it was all too good to be true. Sure enough, the company was a subsidiary of a large intergalactic military operation that was not only hideously defeated in a battle with Mandalorians, who are so bad shit crazy that I can only imagine it running down my trousers if an entire clan attacked me, but as if that wasn’t enough the powerful Hutt Cartel had placed an enormous bounty on every single member of the company I had just signed an employment contract with. Imagine my surprise.
No way I was going to get bludgeoned to death by a Mandalorian or forced to 200 years of ‘indentured’ slavery to a Hutt just because I guarded an apartment complex for Keywork Engineering Solutions. To escape those fates I abandoned the name Lester DeWitt, as it had never brought me any luck anyway, and created the alias Davik Lorso upon my arrival on the cesspit of Nar Shaddaa. As far as reinventing yourself goes when your foremost skills are beating up gamblers and haggling over the price of slaves and you’ve got no official papers to prove you are who you say you are, there really is no better place than the infamous criminal capital called the Smuggler’s Moon.
With the help of master Nor’baal, an especially devious and well connected Hutt, I quickly rose in the ranks to become an enforcer of the Hutt Cartel. Now I oversee the Glitterstim mines on Kessel and gained access to the backrooms of the most powerful criminals in the Galaxy.
