Hello there, I'm The Classiest Hobo, and its a pleasure to be here!

Let me start off by telling you some things about myself so we can all get to know each other better. Sound good?

So I discovered Star Wars in much the same way as - well it seems like 2/3rds of the world did. Everybody knows about it, gets some of the references, and knows at least enough to understand people have lightsabers and move stuff around with their minds. And for a long time that was about the depth and scope of my understanding of the entire series. I'd be lying if I told you that my recent interest in the genre (after a friend bought both KOTOR and KOTOR II for me on a lark). I've started to learn some new things, been reading up, but (sadly) have yet to see any of the movies. As a result I figured that the absolute best way to learn more would be to make like I did the night of Prom and forgo any consequences by just going right in without any hesitation.

So that is how I wound up here, after a brief house-rule-D20-esque Star Wars tabletop game with some friends that lasted a few weeks, and looking for a good online Star Wars RP to fix a slowly growing addiction.

Anything else you need to know about me: I'm a fellow, proud Army veteran, and hoping to get started with technical school to get qualified as a welder and also pursue an associates degree in Criminal Justice (because community college is cheap and close-by). Welcome! There is nothing wrong at all with making an acolyte as your first character, besides that fact you will forever be branded as evil...jk haha. My first character was an acolyte and that never happened to me.. at least I think it didn't.

I too am bummed I have yet to see the movies. And if I remember right, Disney recently bought the rights to them. That means Boba Fett will have a vaguely Russian accent, Luke Skywalker will be a full-fledged Jedi master before he is twelve, Han Solo is the playground bad boy who stays up past his curfew, and the Sith go from "embrace your emotions and anger" to "destroy the galaxy and steal stuff" for mantra.

So I plan to buy a box-set of the originals and anything coming after can be driven off a cliff, 300-style, until it proves its worth.

The DVD and Blu-Ray versions of the original trilogy have some pretty redonkulous edits, in the name of George Lucas' vision. I still swear by the '97 Special Edition version (still have the VHS tapes!), being the set that I grew up watching.

I've heard the best way to watch the movies is Episodes 4 -> 5 -> 2 -> 3 -> 6 (ANH and ESB set the story up to the infamous reveal, AOTC and ROTS are flashbacks, and grand finale ROTJ), but I haven't had the time to sit down for a marathon for that viewing experience.
