My one and only character for the new timeline is a Jedi dropout. He has received basic training and I've put it on his Bio.

Thing is, as such, his master is merely an NPC. That's of no consequence because it's simply background, and I want him to properly receive training in the future if he ever wants to improve as a FU and seriously start using his powers.

Pertaining to the topic, I think it would be much more appealing if the role of his former Master was actually filled by a PC rather than an NPC. It would make for an interesting reunion down the line, and the RPing possibilities are limitless.

Query: Is anyone interested in being my Master, even though I won't start in the Jedi Faction?

EDIT: The link to the PC's Workshop in question is on my sig, in case your wondering.

Huh, it appears quite a few people (*cough*) are looking for masters, but I haven't exactly seen anyone making any.

Maybe we're posting this on the wrong place. Mass PM people?

Have you tried hitting up the main Jedi sticky thread?

You'll probably find that you have a hard time finding a master. All you have to do is take a look at this timeline's Jedi Sign-up and Training forum to see how rare members willing to be someone else's master are as opposed to Padawans. This timeline it could become a bit of an issue, since training was a requirement. Thankfully training is not a requirement in the DotR timeline, but if there are a bunch of Jedi characters beginning as Padawans that want masters for their characters then it may become an issue again. I hope you find what you're looking for, but if this timeline is any indication then it's probably unlikely.

I already have a padawan else I would do it. It's very much not a requirement and will only hold you back from really getting involved. If you really want it, sure. But just because you're newer to the site doesn't mean you need to be a padawan. Be a somewhat inexperienced Knight that relies on older or more experience peers. Padawans should be pretty rare IMHO. If you want guidance it is easier to start as a Knight and not restrict yourself to being a padawan like was a problem this TL. Learn from peers. I know the Master-Student is a relationship that is fun to write, but I feel it should be more "I a Knight and this fellow Knight had taught me a lot to make me who I am" rather than a more forced learner experience.

Thank you both for sharing your insight.

Not to blow my own horn - an expression that I think should be used more often everyday XP - but I don't think I need guidance per se in terms of RPing. My character, Nova, is the one who would benefit from further guidance down the line. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that I don't have anything left to learn, the two are not the same thing.

I've already made a placeholder NPC on Nova's bio, I just think it would be more interesting to have them meet later and that would only be possible (or rather, interesting) if the master was a PC. It's not a requirement for my character and there would be no RPing involved.

I'm not asking for someone to RP a training with me, just doing an interest check to see if anyone wants their Jedi character to have a connection with mine. If so, I would simply replace the NPC's name on the Bio with the PC's.

You could also just leave the master's name out of anything and keep searching past the beginning of the timeline, if you don't find anything before then, until someone decides to take you up on it. And yeah, I get it. The master thing this timeline is entirely story based for most people, I'd guess.

I might do just that. Although I like to name everything while playing around with innuendos and double entendres.

We do indeed! Technically @Shalken needs one as well, he hasn't been actively looking yet though.

However, it would be best if the master for my character was not the same as Vosrik's. I wouldn't mind just creating an NPC master.

@Shalken @Vosrik do you need a master for your bio's or for RP's.

Only as I am thinking of making an Indie ex-jedi/ex-sith character who is just a hermit who is open to training anyone as long as there minds are open to the force. If you are interested at all.

@Benvenu7 Thanks for the offer, dude. I don't want to sound ungrateful, but I'd like to see if he/she can fill the role I have in mind. Can you provide a link to your Jedi PC?

Thanks for the offer, but I think Shal and I actually have decided to use NPC masters for our characters. It would be cool for them to possibly meet your character after they leave the Jedi Order and before they join the Fulcrum though!

I could make my jawa jedi a master, after all in his story he did become the grand master of the Jawa mystics.

@James Steel @Benvenu7 Thanks for the offer guys, but I'll decline in regards to adding your PCs to Nova's Bio.
Again, not to seem ungrateful, but they simply don't fit the profile that I was after.

As mentioned, my character somewhat got out of touch with the Force; so, in the future, he'll need guidance to master his powers once more. Maybe you guys could play the part, though it's not something I want to plan right away since I want to leave his options open - Jedi, Sith, Gray, or never again FU.

I think I'll run with Sapphire's advice for now. Thanks.
