Esk didn't know why but it was not knowing where he was when felt the safest. His back laid against a silver wall, in between two rounded supports. They went up about 10ft into a black ceiling, darkened by the absence of light. Maybe it was because if he knew where, he would start to think. The room he was in was a rectangular block. The only entrance was through the floor, located in the back of the room, and the the door that lead to the front of the ship, located in the front of the room. Esk looked down at the two hanging crystals from his neck. The possession he had kept, and the possession his dad gave him before he was sold at Elomin. The room was dark, with no lights. The only light came from thin lines surrounding the floor-door and the light on the guard that watched over the occupants of the room. Esk examined his wrists, where his shackles were connected to. The scales around the wrists were rubbed down, and weathered. Old dried blood, in small amounts, could be seen. Following the chain from his hands,to his feet and straight across led to different captives, all in the same predicament as him. Slaves. In total there were nine. The only other things to occupy the room besides the guard and other slaves, was 2 dark green boxes which read G.E and a couple of crates. No doubt contraband to sell in the market. The black market to be exact. Esk recalled where he was last. On a planet called Teth, and a city called Peroom or Peroon? Where could they be taking us he thought. This had to be the longest trip I had been in as a slave. And I have been a slave for my whole life. Keeping time would have been useless, as he would have forgot. He wondered where he was going. Leaning back, he let his head rest on the smooth, cold wall and thought deeply about that question. Slowly, he drifted into sleep, letting his thoughts coax his mind into rest.
