Testing the waters of the conversation bore fruit. "Well there are some roles I plan on playing. I'm also researching for my own writing..." He waved a hand at the statement as if to put it at the bottom of a list of reasons why he's curious about the force factions and their history. "...My homeworld, Serenno, was home to a Count during the Clone Wars. He was a Sith and so were different people in various planet's history. But there's supposedly a nine hundred...or maybe it was thousand...either way, a very big reserve." In the planet's history it had been the biggest single land purchase recorded but had happened over thousand years before the days of the Galactic Empire.

"I think we can learn from looking at the Jedi and Sith's history. The Jedi used to have temples on numerous planets and now are a fraction of their former strength. Even the Sector Rangers aren't as capable as the Jedi Order in the history books. The Sith and their allied factions in the past have lessons but I know that's not a popular opinion given the wounds of the Empire are still fresh. But I take it you aren't bothered by the same sort of things as most people." He gave her a smile, liking that she was different from others whom he had encountered so far.

"Can we?" she asked coolly, finished with checking his general vitals for now. His arm was already cast, so there was no good reason for her to check it, and no easy way for her to scan it without lugging him to her own ship. So that simply left the stomach wound, which by his account hardly hurt anymore. Nonetheless, she was here for a job, and she would see it checked to its' fruition.

"Learn from those... cults?" she tilted her head subtly. Slowly, she was relinquishing her own barriers as well, giving a slight nod to the supposed compliment he paid her. "If I was like everyone else, I assume the novelty would be less," she demurred, then giving a glance with lambent golden eyes. "But perhaps you are right. Learning from them should provide useful material, and many personal benefits."

Once again, her mind cast back to the holocron. She had begun spending her nights learning from it, but she knew she was far from learned enough. She would have to be patient, and build upon what few scraps she could drag up to study. The ability to bend the Force to her will was still a very fresh concept, one she was guarded about. The changes were heady, powerful, but she was reluctant to lose control like she had on Nar Shaddaa.

She would not make that mistake again.

"And why not? They may have interesting outlooks and people are entitled to their religious views." He gave the typical 'politicially correct' response. "I doubt the cults have anything to teach the galaxy what it doesn't already have as common knowledge." Lucien had never been described as a zealous individual. "But they do possess access to facilities that might have links to lost technology. A lot of it is conspiracy theories for the palpatine and snoke after him. But there's a reason for that. A lot of those projects I bet were lost or forgotten..." There had been major conflicts and evidence that discoveries were just waiting to be had. "...unless someone finds them."

He knew she was already onboard but he wanted to show his enthusiasm and appreciation. "I might be getting a new ship soon. A comet class star yacht. It has its own medical bay." He took a deep breath and sighed. The Morganian's light irises became unfocused as he thought about leaving. "I think I've been living in one place too long again. I like being on the move. I could use a Doctor onboard as well. It would be...a pretty comfy ship to live in." He knew well enough that she traveled in a quad five courier which was functional, but not much else in Lucien's opinion. Plus he had a feeling she was looking for some change in her life. Change that she controlled at least.

She finished up checking his broken arm and wrist with the scanner; by all indications he was definitely on the mend, not simply good at bandaging up. So either he lied previously about timeline, or...

Again, Corran Velt's voice came to mind during their first encounter on Corellia.
"...Jedi that healed my ribs right there..." and eyed Lucien calmly, humming lightly in response. "If you had asked me that a week ago, I would have jumped on the simple chance of exploration and help. As it is, I must ask. Why need a Doctor on board, if all you're doing is being on the move?" She tilted her head slightly, giving a very faint smile.

"Kind of you to offer, but I'm asking about benefits I may have. I'm curious."

The injuries still hurt and the rest of his body did feel less energized than if his body wasn't trying its best to heal itself. "Unfortunately I don't possess the same abilities as a Jedi." Lucien replied in kind when she mentioned the quasi-religious group. It was an interesting skill but one that doesn't really align with the practices of the dark side.

A recent change in her life then was something that hung over the Doctor. His nose enhaled the faint sent of soap and cleanliness the arkanian had. But there was a smell of desperation there as well. Maybe it was his sensitivity to the force that was picking up that sort of aura from her.

"I am not just going to be on the move." He corrected. "But I understand. A cautious mind is a long lived one." He covered himself up again and straightened his appearance back to its former neat aesthetic. "You're more than just a doctor." It was a statement and not a question. "I am more than a stuntman. You're smart so you must know you are strong in the force. If you haven't realized it yet, I am too." He shrugged, expecting her to acknowledge the truths between them.

"With all these jedi and sith running around plenty of people don't trust those with gifts like ours as much. Personally I'd appreciate it if we kept this between us." Taking a deep breath, now that she was done with her medical treatment, and headed back over to the kitchen to get another cup of tea. He would offer her some again.

"I am...aspiring...I'll admit it. I'm not a big shot, not yet at least. I want to make the galaxy better with some philanthropic ventures. I'm not asking for a resume with references here. But you'll be involved in major scientific discoveries and historical finds." The Morganian would make his way back to the comfortable seating of the living room. It was should be obvious that the state of her quarters if she accepted would be luxurious compared to what she had now. But that wasn't everything. "There's a small hangar bay onboard the yacht so we could spring for another interceptor or starhopper if you have to come and go from time to time. But we will have a fairly open schedule. Perks of owning the yacht." Sith and jedi artifacts on distant worlds, getting a bounty hunting license, gaining the knowledge and skill to accomplish his dreams, these were all things that motivated Lucien. He would do it all, it was just a matter of whether or not the Doctor would be a part of it. "If there's anything I haven't brought up yet ask away." He added and blew on the hot liquid in his cup.

She nodded once to his silent query of more tea; at his statement of being more than just a doctor, however, she stilled. Amber eyes narrowed slightly, but otherwise her features remained impassive, almost remote. "A strong one... how can you tell?" she queried calmly, seemingly not even alarmed by the fact he even knew. Perhaps it was the same way she knew; you could sense it, almost like hidden intent. He seemed calm, even within himself. Centered, even.

"I keep secrets," she spoke quietly, taking a small sip of tea. "Besides, why would I tell secrets of what we are? We do not affiliate with either religious cult, after all, so such... precautions... are hardly necessary." However, her eyes panned his face when she stated as much. "If I am to be in this venture with you, I request the freedom to come and go if needed for other assignments. But why not state such things in the first place? Not that I mind a well-made meal or such interesting company," she queried simply, crossing her legs to look into his eyes coolly.

Finally. They were getting
somewhere.

Just the fact that she asked a question made Lucien smile continue. Her curiosity was both what he liked to see in her specifically as well as because it was a nice trait to see shared with someone else. "Hm, I've had some...mentoring when it comes to the Force. I wouldn't have brought it up if I didn't think you had as well. There's a sense of...self awareness. Someone that doesn't know they are 'special' is much harder to detect. Almost impossible sometimes even." He blew on his tea again. "Hm, I've had some...mentoring when it comes to the Force. I wouldn't have brought it up if I didn't think you had as well. There's a sense of...self awareness. Someone that doesn't know they are 'special' is much harder to detect. Almost impossible sometimes even unless you get a sample off their DNA. I think that's how the Jedi did it according to record. I don't know all the science behind midicholorians but I am pretty fascinated by them. Even if it is as a layman of sorts." He shrugged admitting to his lack of knowledge. His master while in the Sith Eternal cult had access to information that some would consider occult these days. But Lucien saw himself more as just a history buff.

The Morganian was furthermore pleased by her response about her alignment. Part of him had his worries about the Sith Order, from whence his origins also came. There were many things about them that could work out in the end. But Lucien's mind, while considering it as being an exciting organization to be with, didn't believe in their capability nor all of their outlook. "Not everyone is the type to refrain from jumping to conclusions. If you have to share with someone but know that both of our well being is at risk then based on your judgement. I trust you in that regard." He took a sip of his tea that had cooled some. Lucien knew she cared about her patient. That was usually what the stuntman noticed first about people, their priorities.

"As for the meal..." He looked towards the kitchen a little as a pause followed. "I felt like cooking." The food had not been a ploy or attempt at warming her up. "Perhaps I just cared to share a meal." His posture reclined a little and he let the herbal scent of the tea rise from his cup. "Did you want desert?"

"You could say I had some education," she answered quietly, holding the teacup in her hands. She paused, amber eyes lowering to glance down at her lap, features temporarily ones of a faint regret. "The rest, however, has been a method of self-teaching." She tilted her head at his mention of midichlorians, and the Jedi's way to measure them.

"Indeed. It's a shame there's no record of such testing devices in existence anymore, however, outside of museums. Imagine being able to quantify one's own connection to the Force with actual, reputable science." Her tone changed, became reflective, almost eager. But then he mentioned dessert, and she was intrigued.

"It is rare I do not cook for myself..." she demurred, tilting her head to regard him once more. "Most nights I eat alone, or at the mercy of takeout. This has been a pleasant interlude," she confessed, giving the faintest of smiles. "I accept. On one condition, I wash dishes when we're finished."

Deja vu. Washing dishes for someone else... talking of future ventures. It seemed a common theme lately.

Lucien chuckled at the condition Ilana put on eating desert. He was still pleased to hear her furthrmore confirm his feelings about her. She was focused on the objective scientific discovery and improvement. It was an admirablee quality in the Morganian's opinion. "How can I say no to that?"

Going to the fridge he pulled out a container of ice cream and set it on the counter. Another clear plastic box was pulled from the refrigerator. "You're not allergic to nuts or lactose intolerant are you, Doctor?" He looked over his shoulder at her to make sure.

"Did you know..." Two separate bowls that were more like glass cups were produced from a cabinet. A jar with an orangish viscus substance was the last to come out of the fridge and then be began to be reheated with one of the counter top appliances. "...Mandalorians had a history of some unique culinary tastes. Lots of spicy foods but also of sweets, specifically candied nuts and a uj cake. Drinking was also pretty common though I haven't managed to find any Mandalorian spirits yet." Scooping ice cream into each. Provided she wasn't allergic, Lucien would sprinkle some of the candied nuts he had onto the dish. As soon as he finished a little ding came from the reheating appliance. The viscus liquid had been warmed and had become more akin to a liquid than the goo it had turned into from the fridge. Sparingly he drizzled the orange syrup over his own a little and would do the same for Ilana.

She watched him, and for some reason this felt oddly domestic. He was calm, confident even, and even with her senses finely tuned she could sense little else. He was charming, if not a little bit too calm for her own tastes. He also seemed content to do things with the long goal in mind, rather than straight to the point... but at least there seemed some goal in mind. She shook her head at having any allergens, and once more she was pleased he even bothered asking.

Most in the galaxy didn't even consider allergens, unless you were an entirely different species, such as a Kel Dor. But when he started lecturing about Mandalorians, he had her full attention.
"I've heard of their spicy dishes... but sweet as well?" she asked, giving a golden-eyed, curious stare. "I'll admit, I know little of their culture apart from what they've called The Way. I only have had two such patients, but their approaches to life have been so wildly different that I'm not sure of the cohesiveness of such a culture."

Sweetness to go with the savory. White-haired head tilted slightly, regarding him.
"I can't have been the first physician to be offered such an appointment," she stated, waiting to see if he would contest that statement or not. But truth be told, she was curious. She was, naturally, the best, but hearing if she was first or not was of a keen priority of pride.

"Don't know why. Sugary things can keep for a pretty long time and I'd imagine one could get quite the sweet tooth in any culture." He took a few bites, letting the ice cream and warm syrup mix and melt inside his mouth with the crunch that followed with the candied nuts. He grabbed a spoon for specifically a side helping of the candied nuts and sprinkled a few more ontop of his ice cream. He had a bit of a sweet tooth as well now that he thought about it. Good thing the Morganian also had great dental.

"I don't know as much as I'd like about them though. Only really come across their cuisine when I was traveling for work. I had a little cooking group and some of them knew about some retro dishes. Turns out one of them had a little hoard of recipes so I went ahead and snagged a few of them."

Lucien furrowed his brow when she posed him the question about. He was confused by the question and what she meant. "In this apartment you are. Is it so strange to have house calls? You can get nearly everything delivered to your door these days if you can spare the credits and time." Part of the man wondered if the Doctor was testing to see if either she was special or if he regarded her as such.

She nodded along, taking a small bite of the ice cream and sauce as well, pausing to swallow before replying. "Perhaps I might borrow a few recipes from you?" she inquired, amber eyes thoughtful. "I'm always curious about new culinary challenges, perhaps that might be something useful for some of my idle time." A rarity of itself.

At first, she was confused as to why he was confused, then shook her head.
"I misspoke. I meant about being your medical companion for your venture. Though it is flattering to know I am first to this apartment," she continued, taking another small, delicate bite. It was so rare she got to sit and relax, and enjoy the company of someone without any real hidden agendas...

At least, none for the time being.

It was nice to introduce someone to something new that he found enjoyable. Hearing the Doctor say as much brought a smile to Lucien's face. "I find it helps center my mind and brings some clarity. Cooking is more than making food to be consumed."

Nodding, the Morganian understood what the amber eyed woman meant now. "As a mater of fact you were the first..." He took another bite of the dessert. "...but not the only one. I wasn't sure if you would accept or not." A small shrug was added. The stuntman had already looked into medical droids as well given their benefits as opposed to organic doctors. It would probably be simpler and safer to have a droid who's memory he could wipe. Plus if or when he became a bigger name in show business the Morganian would likely have to be even more thorough with screening of his employees. For now, being on the small-time side of the entertainment industry had its perks.
