(Open to any Jedi. Primarily a training thread.)
Xiann finished connecting the power cables to the last of the practice dummies she had dragged out of her little garage-shed and it began to release buzzing and whirring sounds as it powered up. She quickly hopped back several paces as the motors did their startup up checks. On more than one occasion she hadn’t been fast enough and had been clobbered by the thing. It was only a training dummy, but it packed a punch.
The engineer looked around the open area in which she spent most of her time in the past months. She had used scraps and spare parts she could scrounge to build a variety of training dummies, point defense drones and even a pair of extremely crappy speeders. While none of these would match up to anything produced by a corporation, they did their job and could take a beating. Well enough for her to train anyway. The engineering process helped keep her mind from plummeting into true despair in the recent months too.
The Twi’lek looked across the forest at the clear sky and light breeze sweep across the nearby forest. “Perhaps some piloting after lunch. It’s not often the weather is this good for it. But first…” She walked over to one of the workbenches in her shed that had one of the spherical Point Defense Drones on it. The drone had a large slice through its outer plating, she had caught it with her lightsaber during her last session and she needed to replace the parts and repair it if she could.
Rock music began to sound when she hit the button to power up the stereo, loud enough to be heard clearly throughout the clearing, but the dense trees and foliage absorbed the sound pretty quickly after that. Few people ever came here, Xiann had been glad of this for the longest time, but now she was starting to feel the pull of being social again. Perhaps she should introduce those padawans she met to this place?
