When he took this gig, Rowan hadn't known it would be beside HIM, of all people. A cloth still covering his now missing eye, obscured by his bangs which fell over that part of his face, Rowan Harlow sat in a specially prepared booth on the flagship of the Imperial Republica's fleet, made for the news coverage over the Kaggath going on down on the glassed and until recently hidden planet. Still, he had to make the best of it, though his irritation was bubbling within him like an overdone pot of stew. Eventually it would boil over, though when was the question. Maybe Jacob would be civil. Hah, fat chance. Oh well, it was time to get started.

"Ladies and gentlemen, viewers from the Imperial Republica and beyond! This is your host, Rowan Harlow, and my...partner, Jacob Tagger! We're coming to you live from orbit around Medriaas, where the fight of the century is being held! Lyanna Drast, newly crowned Empress of the Imperial Republica, and the self-styled Darth Vrael of the Old Empire are fighting in a Kaggath to determine who will rule the formerly combined might of the Andraste Sith Empire! There's some huge stakes involved here folks and it looks like the show is about to begin. Jacob, why don't you give your thoughts to today's event?" This was probably opening a can of worms, yet drama would breed good TV. Good TV would help Rowan accomplish his goals all that quicker. As long as he didn't punch the man's teeth in on live Holonet. By the FORCE would that be satisfying, though.

Jacob was repulsed, but not surprised by the networks' choice of co-host. Rowan Harlow was the natural choice, given the public tension between him and Jacob. As if there wasn't enough to boost ratings already, they had to throw that into the mix too. He smiled and looked to his partner as though happy to see him. "Rowan, you look wonderful. Very dashing with that eye-patch! Now, indeed this is the fight of the century. And so much to discuss as well." He looked forward to the monitors and watched the two Sith stare eachother down before the fight. They exchanged some necessary threats and posturing but in the end got right to it. It was the opening of the battle and there was already so much to say.

"Oh my, Lyanna's pulled a blaster!" He said. "Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that in direct conflict with the rules of this engagement? Poor girl, already it's started and she's been outclassed, resorting to such dirty tricks. And oh! It looks as if Vrael has gone right back with a stab to the eye, hard to say though since the Force is invisible."

He looked over and smirked at Rowan. "Look! You can be twins with the girl-empress! Won't that be special."

Cheeky kriffer. Rowan gave a little laugh that held nothing but his disgust for Jacob in it, the smile on his face more fake than the sense of compassion in any member of Clan Solus. However, there WAS a silver lining to the situation, in that Jacob, just as Vrael, had misunderstood what a Kaggath actually entailed. One would think that a potential usurper would actually know what the details of this kind of ritual fight would entail, but that wasn't his responsibility. He WOULD, however, give his answer to all of the Empire once he'd calmed down from Jacob's cute little 'twinsies' comment.

"Oh Jacob, you're so funny! I'm sure your ten fans will be liking this video later on Spacetube. I do have to correct you, though, in that the Empress is actually performing the Kaggath to the letter. The only rules for a Kaggath is that one opponent face the other with everything they have at their command to bring to the fight, with no outside interference. That could include these very fleets and the soldiers on them, if so chosen. Anything that she and Vrael would claim to be within their power. This fight was never meant to be just a fight of one lightsaber against another. In truth, HE is the one most likely outclassed by his refusal to bring every weapon in his arsenal to this fight. Don't worry, though, I'm sure no one will hold how wrong you were against you, Jacob. As it is with most of your reports, your ignorance doesn't make you responsible for your failures." Rowan made a show of patting Jacob on the back, as if trying to reassure him. He imagined a knife was in his hand as he did so.

"Oh, is that so?" Jacob said in an even tone, smiling along with Rowan. "I'll differ to you here since your knowledge of the inner workings of the Sith is vastly superior to mine." He decided to see if that was true and roughly, without any finesse or care probed Rowan's mind with the Force. Not enough to do anything more than make it known that he was there. He continued on as though nothing was transpiring between the two men.

"Be that as it may, if Lyanna wanted to use blasters to solve her problems she should have hired the Mandalorians to do her dirty work. I'm sure they would have liked to be paid to attack one of the Empires...maybe it would have given her a break too. Did you know they just moved on Bilbringi?" Jacob forged on. "Oh, yes...they blew up the whole installation there, very costly yet, just like her predecessor, Lyanna has said nothing about it. Too concerned with gaining personal power rather than making sure he people are cared for."

The fight raged on but nothing worth mentioning had happened since the opening salvo. Jacob was curious about Rowan's eye though he couldn't think of a way to bring it up that wasn't too rude. He let it go, sure that the opportunity would make itself clear eventually.
