If she can't run a household with those rules, how can we expect her to run a country. I think that is what people are getting at here.

Needn't say more. Her own daughter doesn't listen to her.

or you could come up with a decent counter argument to your position, it's kind of the point of debating these things y'know...

My argument is perfectly valid, but, as expected, you won't except it.

A president doesn't MAKE anyone do anything, just like how any other person can't MAKE anyone else do anything. You can support something regardless of whether or not your children listen to you. Questions from the media are fine, but when they rip you apart, it's just pathetic.

Yes, however it's expected for anyone of any level of fame be it government or hollywood types of fame to be picked over by the media, and yes even ripped apart it comes with the job. No one goes "I want to be a senator" or what have you and doesn't expect these things to happen.

Has Obama been ripped apart by the media? What about Ted Kennedy?

Perhaps a little, yes, but nothing like Palin. I know that getting ripped comes with the job, but when it comes to Palin, the media seems to rip into her like a hobo on a ham sandwich.

There comes a point where Sarah Palin needs to start taking responsibility for her own actions and mistakes. In regards to the original topic of this thread, the media didn't write notes on her hand. The media didn't make her criticize Obama for always using a teleprompter while she had notes written on her hand about the basic tenants of the platforms she's supporting. They pointed out the blatantly obvious hypocrisy of those actions.

Has there been unfair treatment of Sarah Palin in the media? Sure there has. Guess what. There's unfair treatment of everyone who has ever been mentioned in the media in the history of forever. Stop hiding behind it. The more Sarah Palin and her supporters try to blame the media for the plethora of missteps that Palin makes, the more she loses the minuscule amount of credibility she already has.

The reason Sarah Palin is legitimately criticized in the media all the time is for two reasons: 1) she won't leave the media (and in fact she works for it); 2) she's not new, she's not fresh, she's not hip. She doesn't have bold new ideas that will revolutionize America like she tells people. She has the same ideas that the far right as been pushing forever as the Rosetta stone that will unlock the divine success of America forever and ever.

LOWER TAXES!

STRONG NATIONAL DEFENSE!

LITTLE GOVERNMENT!

YAY FREEDOM!

All great things, but those aren't solutions. Those are talking points. Sarah Palin isn't a fresh new political figure. Sarah Palin is a talking point wrapped in a sound bite wrapped in a *wink wink* you betcha drill baby drill folksy charming package that doesn't really offer anything new. She's like Sean Hannity. She sits on the sidelines offering snide remarks and stupid sarcastic faces to make it seem like those she disagrees with are the morons, but in reality she's not offering anything.

Like Barack Obama, she's great at selling a nice looking package but when push comes to shove the box is empty and it's not actually delivering you anything that you want or need.

If Sarah Palin wants people to stop criticizing her, a) don't let her hold her breath because every politician will be criticized, and b) even if she and/or her supporters just wants the criticism to die down a bit, they need to stop making so many missteps that will be caught by the media.

Tl;dr - don't want criticism? Stop being hypocritical and stop screwing up so much.

This is why neither of you are being looked at with an ounce of credibility when it comes to debates of this nature.

Forgive me if I don't take debating people online with enough seriousness.

Then you can't complain when people call you morons on the site if that's your stance.

If people call me a moron because I don't religiously debate every petty topic that comes up on this site then perhaps I'm on the wrong forum.

I personally think its hilarious every time the media rips on her.

She's soooo stupid its just impossible to take her seriously....

True....after a while who really gives a damn...Every topic does not need to be a debate, and your not a moron just because you don't want to argue over a topic...

Life moves on...

So then you would say that because you don't wish to do something to the standards of others in your position that you may be in the wrong place?

If people are THAT judgemental that they would call me a moron because I don't debate up to their standards, then yes. This is a petty argument, I've stated my position, and, as usual, you've rejected it. It's pointless to talk to you. I'm not being a jerk, I'm not calling anyone names, or telling them their arguments suck and that they are morons. I'm being civil and easy to talk to. If someone has the audacity to come along and call me a moron for not debating properly !ON THE INTERNET! then they must have some issues.

Good day to you sir.

Thank you. If only other people could see it this way.

So by your own admission that not wanting to hold to other standards means that you should leave, shouldn't Palin not be in the political sphere/news business if she can't handle the standards there?

Uh. I'd like to think I have plenty of credibility, but I'm preaching to the wrong choir. Don't jump the gun and think that we're wrong because we don't want to say the same things over and over again, because it gets nowhere, it gets repetitive, and even if we keep arguing we'll get called morons anyway. We give plenty of valid points that get picked apart to the point where you're not even listening to what we're saying, but countering how we say it (this isn't referencing this thread in particular, but many).

tl;dr- being an ass doesn't make you correct.

Grath, San. Admit defeat, the debates get tiring to read and tend to take up evey damn thread on these forums most of the time.
