The Sith Empire broke.

Army, Navy, partly the Intelligence all fell. They lost huge assets. Operatives went rogue, soldiers became mercenaries, thieves. There were rumors an entirely fleet disappeared in one day.

Those who stayed worked for the Sith Order. Under Tagus it was different, a lot. How? New mentality set roots. The Imperial propaganda died. Those that they called values yesterday were insane radical thoughts. And yet, should one respect the traditions still had a long road ahead.

Those who left weren't all insignificant. Keepers of secrets, those who knew too much, too much to be against The Order. Or those who saw things they should not had. They had to be taken care of.

"One hand washes the other boys," Jay said as he threw his former admiral's body into the mud. He felt no remorse. His old mentor befriended several enemies of the Order. Some before the Empire dissolved.

"Four down. The last one's in the Citadel of Dromund Kaas."

The hell is he even here?

Why the hell were any of them still even here?

Tomic sighed a little bit as he twirled his robotic eye around in it's socket. It was something he did when he was bored and executing some sad old people was something that bored him enough to qualify. He had his rifle resting against his shoulder as he sat atop a small wall.

Chest-high, good for cover and for sitting on watching people off their former bosses he supposed.

"So why are we doing this again?"

He raised an eyebrow behind his helmet as he gestured around,

"Not that I don't enjoy a good execution spree but what's the point? People are selling out an Empire that doesn't exist anymore - who cares?" he shrugged, "Better question; why are none of us drunk yet?"

Probably like Tomic, Jayscreec never went above and beyond to complete direct orders. He did what he had to do, but for good credits, and fun times too. Maybe the mission didn't make a lot of sense, but getting rid of people was still something sensational for him. Honestly, he was sick. But who isn't?

Yet Jay had to admit, his brother in arms was right. Who cares about the fifth target? Revenge can wait. They still had time to get wasted somewhere.

"You got a point. Lets get back to civilization."

Their ship brought them back to the citadel, where numerous places remained open throughout the night to provide beverages, food and beds. Jay liked this part of Dromund Kaas. Maybe more than Coruscant, at least he could see some green trees here. To begin the night properly, at the spaceport already he ordered a round of drinks. "Don't tell me you don't like adventures Tomic. It's not all about the money, right? Then you'd be a mercenary."

Slowly Jay's thoughts were filled with new ideas. But no, not about the Sith Order. Not yet. Lap-dancing aliens, swoop-bikes and fights.

The Empire was in chaos. Where there was once order and justice, there was only destruction and confusion. With the new Emperor, Tagus, the Sith Empire was different. What they were doing this instance could of been called treason of the highest order, it didn't matter anymore. Markus had seen many emperors and empresses rise and fall, Tagus would just be another fleck of dust in the wind.

Times are changing. It's time i changed too. Markus sighed as he watched Jay threw his commanding officer into the mud. Markus had been in service under many empires, none the same. Markus couldn't do much to help the cause with him having no arms. He was still getting used to not feeling anything in his two limbs. Markus looked to his right when an agent, and one of his rescuers sighed. Markus wondered if the man despised him. He was after all just dead weight. With no arms, he couldn't help out much, only offering insight when needed. Survival of the fittest.

He was surprised to hear Tomic practically denounce the empire. A few months ago, Markus would criticize him for saying such lies, but he didn't care enough. "
A good drink sounds good." Markus hopped of the short wall, following Tomic and Jay into the ship.

Back to civilization huh?

It wasn't all that it was cracked up to be in Tagal's opinion but, he supposed, no one had ever really asked for his opinion so he wasn't about to just up and voice it. Nah, let them think he enjoyed all the bars and the nightclubs and the thickness of humanity and alien life so tiresomely massive that it made walking a chore.

That it made everything so pointlessly busy.

And now?

Now it was so civilized that the civilization they had fought and bled for was now pretty much worthless. Enough that all of them could bad mouth it and no one ever said anything against it.

Treason only existed when there was a state to be treasonous about, after all.

Their trip was brief.

"What's the difference between a mercenary and a soldier?" he asked his companions as he poured all three of them a drink of whiskey before gunning his own, "A shite pension plan."

He lit himself a cigara.

"This man's army was the best paying job in town after the Mandos killed off my old man and made the hunting on Onderon an exercise in hunting trophies." he sneered, "Way I was raised? You hunted to eat. So you could get clothes and weapons and LIVE. You didn't hunt because you wanted to make yourself feel like a bigger deal."

After the fifth round of drinks Jayscreec got angry. He firmly believed the constructors of that pub were insane, because the floor was like a hill. He spent his remaining credits on another round of drinks that he brought back before they finished the whiskey with Tomic and Markus.

"Thanks brother. Can I have one?" Jay asked as he gestured at the cigara.

"I see where you're coming from Tomic. Now we're looking into the dragon's mouth unorganized,"
Jay scoffed. "No wonder so many left."

Another group of Imperial troopers sat at a nearby table, also drunk. Jay starred at them blankly for a while.
"Do you think they even know what's coming? It doesn't take a slicer to figure out the odds."

But Tomic meant more, didn't he?

That guy he knew as fiercely loyal only to himself was still on the same payroll. Something kept him here, at least kept him here for now. Something kept here those at the other table too. What had they hoped to achieve?

Drink after drink came for Jay and Tomic. Markus still hadn't finished his first one. He simply couldn't. He had attempted to lower his head to the large mug, and sip the whiskey, but that only worked until the drink got to the half-way mark. "Ah fudge it. I need new hands." He watched as Jay and Tomic smoked. Another luxury he couldn't partake in. Tomic kept on ranting, more or less from the drinks. Markus wasn't nearly as drunk as the other fools. "I don't give to kriffs anymore. The Empire won't even pay for my limbs. I've served them forever, and they won't even hook me up with the cheapest things they got."

"
At least they give me something to do. I don't know what i'd do if i left. You guys could probably become contractors." Markus frowned. If the Sith Empire really did....die, where did that leave him? The Mandalorians would kill him. Maybe he could go to the Republic. Markus looked to the other table of imperials, all relatively young. "Poor shmucks don't know what's coming to them."

What was coming?

Pfft.

"Half of the Galaxy seems to think that the words 'Mandalorian' and 'Republic' can exist in the same sentence about the state of Galactic affairs." he paused before adding, grudgingly, "Unless that sentence 'so the Mandalorians got bored of their experiment with democracy the first time it didn't go their way and destroyed the Republic'... that sentence I can believe in."

Swirling the alcohol inside his glass, he shrugged a little bit at Markus' point about his limbs. Tomic himself had lost a hand and an eye and hadn't bothered waiting for the Imperial military to repair him. Instead he'd paid for the replacements himself. They weren't exactly cutting edge but they worked and that was good enough.

"Imperial healthcare was never a thing so let's not pretend it was dude - rose tinted goggles should be avoided my friend."

He looked at Jay for a long moment.

"So you going to tell us your idea or are you gonna just keep blue balling us?"

Jay couldn't agree more with Tomic. His own arm partly had replacements, on an Imperial mission he got injured and he had to reach deep in his pocket to get it properly fixed. The army wanted to cut his arm off and just put on a new one, while private healthcare managed to fix it. Tomic was also right, it was time for Jay to finally tell his idea, even if he wasn't sure completely himself.

"We have all seen a lot. Imagine what we could make as mercenaries, our great grandchildren would be soaking in credits. But is that all we want?" Jay paused for a moment.

Tomic and Markus became more than battle buddies throughout the time they served. But were they really who he had to talk to about this?

"I should take this to someone high up, but I will tell what's up because I had more than enough. Forget about the state of the current sides having war. This galaxy is enormous, and the Sith Order's strong enough to never be wiped out, even if Mandalore himself comes here to execute every single one of us this culture won't die. There are many soldiers, remnants of the Imperials, mercenaries, bounty hunters, all who could be united freely. That would be strong enough to protect Dromund Kaas and make it's own, without a single entity demanding it's part. No United Protectorate, no Galatic Alliance, nothing could claim it's credits off our work."

Jay pushed up himself. "Say no more. I will bring this up as soon as I'm sober."

Markus nodded to Tomic, "You've got a point." There was only a matter of time before the Mandalorians started another Crusade. There was never enough blood to satisfy Mandalorian thirst. Markus agreed, why had Jay brought them here? Surely not just to drink, or in Markus's case, lack thereof.

What you could make as mercenaries. Markus wasn't a soldier. He was a bureaucrat, he did the paper work. Collect data from the field, direct battle plans from the deck of a ship. He had been a soldier before he transferred over to the Navy.

"
I agree partly with what you say Jay, I really do. Even if we all unite...that won't stop the Mandalorians, the Galactic Alliance, or the Republic from hunting every single one of us down. We won't have any grandchildren to be soaking in credits. Everyone will be slaughtered. I must say...now is not the time for soldiers. Why fight them head on? I say we infiltrate the Republic. Use what's left of Intelligence, create a shadow organization within the Mandalorians or the GA or the Republic. When it is time, when we become stronger, when we collect more information. Then and only then can we reveal ourselves and take over. How many more men and women do we have to sacrifice fighting for a belief and a culture half of the Empire doesn't believe in anymore? Have you not seen? The hunters are becoming the hunted. The Mandalorian taste for blood will never be satisfied until every single man, woman, and child who raises the Imperial flag is killed."

Markus didn't know if Jay would listen to him. His buddy had always been a soldier. And soldiers only knew to shoot whatever was considered a threat to them. The problem was they were severely outnumbered and outgunned. He did agree with the fact that they had to bring it to the attention of the higher ups. Though he wasn't sure if they would listen to any of them. "
What say you Tomic?"
