Mos Eisley, Tatooine. Local time: 19:30

Several times throughout her life, Aurelie had found herself in situations where she just drifted, ran on auto-pilot. This was one of those instances. Thievery was not the most flattering activity one could think of, but she had been doing it since an early age and she was good at it too. Besides, it was more about survival than anything else.

Having been in the sector for a relatively long time, the young woman knew the the ins and outs of one of the planet's larger spaceports, Mos Eisley, rather well. Exiting the cantina in quite the hurry, Aurelie made a sharp turn to the left, kept walking a few meters until she stopped to stand by one of the building's pillars, quickly blending into the market outside. This was really the best time of the day according to many a local, right between the hot day and the cold night. The market was still buzzing with activity, although most of it would move into the cantina within a few hours.

Her eyes scanned the folks buying and selling more or less legal wares. Sure, there were many fruit peddlers and a few Jawas selling their junk, but there were also weapon dealers and less reputable merchants present. Seeing as it all seemed relatively safe by Tatooine standards, Aurelie produced a stolen wallet from her pocket. Methodically, she looked through it, taking out the cash and a gift card at the spaceport cafeteria before pocketing the money and moving on to get rid of the wallet at a nearby dustbin.

Moving through the market, the thief scanned for a new mark. What she had already gotten would be more than enough for some dinner, but it was always best to have a little extra on hand - if nothing else, for food the day after. She threw an eye at the cantina, considering looking for a mark inside but decided to keep looking in the market for now.

The newly-appointed Jedi Knight Kyi was roaming the Mos Eisley markets, equipped with a poncho as a way to conceal his lightsaber and identity as a Jedi, you could never be too careful on Tatooine with all the Hutt cartels looking to make a quick few credits, they'd sell a Jedi Knight to the Sith without a second thought. Wow, a Jedi Knight, it had been some weeks since his Knighting but it still felt strange to him, for years he wanted to be one and had worked his way toward the promotion but now...? It was just so surreal.

Kyi had no business being back on Tatooine, no seriously, there was no reason. Well, he had one reason, a stupid reason but it was a reason - Kyi wanted to see someone again, there was a girl he had met while he was still a Padawan and he had taken a liking to her but he didn't know how to approach the situation or express his feelings about it, seeing as the Jedi Training regime neglected to teach him on how to deal with girls. Kyi realised this was a stupid and frankly, creepy idea and so the Knight began pacing around the markets thinking of any other reason to be on Tatooine.

He then remembered, the life of a Jedi is an active one - if he couldn't find a reason to be on Tatooine, he was sure the Force would give him a reason to be there. He noticed a cantina nearby and elected that it would be the best place to "find trouble" and made his way toward it with a look of determination.

Aurelie knew that it would be for the best to stay on the locals' good side. It made things much easier when in need of a quick get-away or some extra leeway if she ever got in trouble with them. Taking an extra look on the people whom she didn't recognise, the thief soon set her eyes on a man clad in a poncho. For some reason, he seemed calm than the average market stroller. Keeping an eye on him, the thief tried to find out where he kept his belongings - while ponchos where rather effective in creating a 'wall' around the body to protect the wearer from both sand and pickpockets, Aurelie often found their wearers lulled into a false sense of security.

While the man was pacing around the market, she stopped at one of the shops by the corner near the cantina where she could observe him from afar. Her eyes fell from his brown eyes and freckled face onto his torso. Unfortunately, it was hard to see more than a glimmer from underneath the poncho - a metallic object, certainly, but a more precise guess than that would be hard. Regardless, often times, metallic objects on non-Jawas were of enough value to be worth the risk. While it was often easy to ignore, she couldn't help but to feel bad over stealing from someone around the same age as her. But then, he did seem like he could buy something, and when he started heading towards the cantina, it was a done deal.

Stealing, pickpocketing, it had almost become second nature to her. It would not cause her anymore stress than operating a spaceship or fixing a faulty power coupling. Bidding the merchant farewell, the thief moved in a course to intercept the man on his way to the cantina. Using one of the oldest tricks in the book, Aurelie bumped into him, keeping her balance by holding onto his elbow with the one hand and his waist with the other. "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry" she exclaimed before moving on with the metallic object in hand. Instant regret fell upon the girl as she was walking away. Despite not looking, she had a strong hunch that the object was in fact a lightsabre, having both seen and held one in the past.

Keeping her ears peeled for any exclamations from the man or running footsteps, Aurelie tried to blend in with the masses again as she moved through the market with the lightsaber attached to her belt under a jacket.

While on his way inside of the cantina, he had turned his head away for one second when suddenly - WHAM, Kyi felt the hard feeling of another body colliding with his, "Oof!" or some semblance of it was the sound that escaped his mouth upon the collision. His eyes were closed, he was ready to curse out the person for not looking where they were going before opening his eyes and realising a tall-ish girl standing in front of him. She was actually kinda cute with her blonde hair and light blue eyes - his annoyed facial expression immediately fell into a soft, unassuming expression.

The girl began apologising to him profusely until he responded with a simple
"It's no trouble." with a small smile before continuing on his way. Before entering the cantina however, something told him to check his waist - whether it be his gut instincts or the Force calling out to him, he complied either way and checked his waist. Kyi's heart immediately stopped and his face went from dark tanned to pale, he began patting his body frantically searching for where his lightsaber could have gone. How? How?! He thought to himself, his poncho was supposed to hide the fact he had a lightsaber!

Then it all clicked, the lightbulb above his head turned on and shined bright. It was the cute girl from earlier, of course it was, she used the oldest trick in the book - Kyi cursed at himself for being so naive and for letting the "pretty face" con him so easily. His expression returned to that of annoyance and he called out in the open,
"Hey!" before turning back around, holding his waist where his lightsaber should have been and making his way into the crowds in search of the kriffing thief.

If there was one big disadvantage for a thief in this area of Mos Eisley, it was that there were so many large, relatively open areas. Aurelie heard the voice of the man she had stolen from call out from behind. Her eyes closed reflexively as she slowed down. Carefully, she turned to see that the man she had stolen from most certainly seemed to know what had happened. She was increasing the speed at which she moved through the crowds, initially taking great care not to make it seem to obvious that she was running from anyone. Standing out from the crowd now would not be very desirable at all.

It was not known whether the freckled mark was a Jedi or a Sith but frankly, neither would be very good. The Sith had a bad reputation, but the Jedi had been through plenty of hardships and wars, something which tended to make people rather unpredictable. The man seemed to be keeping good pace, not even Aurelie who had waded through crowds on multiple occasions could completely outpace him like she usually did on normal marks. The girl was far from defenseless, she carried her blaster on her belt on the opposite side of the lightsaber and had a knife hidden inside her boot and more importantly, a vibroknife attached to her NEVDA underneath the sleeve - but in truth, she really preferred avoiding violence. In fact, turning on the man hadn't even crossed her mind.

As soon as the crowded market was behind her, the girl threw a backwards glance, and sure enough, the guy was still there. Hastily, she kept walking around the corner of the building block in connection to the market. Slipping into an alley between all the small little abodes ensured that she would notice if she was being pursued. This was her home turf - having been in the vicinity on multiple occasions, Aurelie knew how to navigate through the maze which the Tatooinian building clusters could create. Taking first a sharp left and then soon thereafter a sharp right, the northward course was maintained. No city on Tatooine was very large but she certainly hoped that she'd loose anyone following her soon enough.

The Knight navigated his way through the crowds, pushing and shoving his way to his goal - he wasn't usually this rough but the thief had something of his, something very important, his Masters at the Jedi Temple always hammered in the fact that his lightsaber was his life and he'd be damned if he'd let some common thief make off with his most important possession. He spotted her blonde hair through the crowd, that's all he could go off right now. The freckle-faced Jedi wished his Force sense was attuned enough that he could just pick her up through the crowd but he didn't know the girl well enough for that.

He kept pushing his way through, much to the dismay of the Tatooine locals, he'd even heard a few scoffs and offensive curses directed at him while on the way. He kept his focus on her nonetheless, his nose and freckles all scrunched in a scowl - he still couldn't believe this happened. Stupid, so, so stupid. He noticed her exit the crowd and into an alley way to which he promptly followed her and made his way into the alley as well and saw her make a sharp left turn at the end of the alley, he followed her once more but after the turn he couldn't notice her blonde head of hair anyway.

Kyi cursed under his breath, he'd have to think fast if he were to get his lightsaber back. Then it hit him. The Jedi Knight scoped the area around him as to make sure there was no one nearby to see this, the coast was clear, Kyi leaped into the air, summoning the Force to enhance his leap. He landed on a small building nearby in one single leap and began using the high ground to try and spot the thief on the ground below. There! He finally spotted her, he proceeded to speed walk before having it evolve into a full-fledged run before leaping off of the building and landing right in front of her, using the Force to help him land perfectly.

"You have something that belongs to me. I'd like it back." he said coldly, left hand outstretched ready to receive his lightsaber - assuming she'd be smart and give it to him.

Maintaining a quick pace, Aurelie was making her way further into the maze, making other people a rather rare sight. She had spotted him as he entered the valley and wanted to be very sure that she had gotten rid of him before she stopped. This was no drunkard or overfed off-world merchant, it was most likely some sort of warrior. After passing by a number of abodes and houses of various sizes, the thief felt somewhat safe. She couldn't hear his footsteps anymore and he was bound to have lost her in the maze a few minutes ago. Looking around, the girl determined that the hurried pace wouldn't be necessary, still, she kept walking just to be on the safe side. Keeping on the move was a good idea regardless - getting rid of the lightsabre was a top priority as a number of problems could arise because of it.

With furrowed eyebrows, Aurelie threw a backwards glance as she could hear something above. It sounded a bit like footsteps, but they were unnaturally fast. It took both one and two moments to realise what it could be - a force sensitive she had traveled with in the past had 'sped-up' through sheer use of the force but it didn't seem reasonable for him to have found her. Nevertheless, she started running.

Suddenly, the freckled mark dropped down from above, right in front of her. It was quite the fright, seeing an individual appear like that, forcing her to make a quick halt, ending up just a few decimeters from a collision. Although not violent by nature, the girls knee-jerk reaction was a straight punch to the man's face, it would connect before he had even managed to finish his sentence. Regardless of whether successful or not, the young woman would try to take a step back "Leave me alone!" she exclaimed with a hint of desperation in her voice. At this moment, Aurelie didn't even know if she was feigning innocence herself since she truly did wish for him to just leave. What little she heard from him was said in a cold manner - and having seen a former Sith in action, the horrors the force user could inflict with a lightsabre were well known to her.

Kyi noticed a small feminine hand, scrunched up into a fist, heading directly toward his face but luckily he always had the Force at his side. His enhanced reflexes registered the incoming attack immediately and allowed him to swiftly use his right hand to grab the girl's wrist firmly, halting the punch which was only millimetres away from his freckled nose. She yelled at him to leave her alone. What? The demand irked the Jedi Knight even more than the attempted punch itself. She stole his lightsaber and had the audacity to ask him to leave her alone? He took a moment, exhaling through his nose, to recollect himself as to not burst out into hysterics over the sheer gall this girl had - anger was not the Jedi way after all.

"Look." he said sternly, his dark brown eyes burning a hole into the thief's blue ones, "All I want is my lightsaber back and then I'll be on my way." he continued, poorly attempting to mask the annoyance in his voice. His hand stayed outstretched, waiting to receive his lightsaber. He was dumbfounded - why would this girl go through all of that risk and effort of stealing from a Force-sensitive? He could have been a Sith for all he knew and if that was the case, her being caught by him would be a very different, probably bloody, story right now. There was also the Hutts, if anyone found out she had a lightsaber or had even attempted to sell it; the Hutt cartels would have been on her like flies on bantha poodoo. What was her plan? Where did she expect to go with this?

His curiosity ended up getting the better of him in the end, he sighed
"What did you need it for anyway?" he asked.

Nope, the punch didn't do much good, in fact, it just allowed the man to catch her hand - not as if the punch was planned to begin with. Her eyes darted between their hands and his face, quickly taking note of his annoyed expression and grip of her hand. The thief considered activating her NEVDA, it would almost instantaneously summon a vibroknife to her free hand which would undoubtedly let her free. But then, who knew what these force users could respond with. The idea of escalating the situation quickly evaporated as he let go of her, causing the girl to instinctively take half a step back. Aurelie was surprised, there was no doubt about that.

Thoughts rushed through her head as she looked at the freckled guy with doe-like eyes. He was clearly annoyed, but it was far from the rage and fury she knew that a Sith could summon. Did he really think that she wouldn't make a run for it again? Or worse, use his own saber against him. Naturally, she wouldn't, but if someone had stolen her blaster, she would definitely be more weary against the thief using it against her. As if stunned, the young woman looked onto the man as he stretched out his hand, expectantly waiting for her to return his saber.

Behind him, the door of an otherwise dark abode opened. Aurelie tried to not look, hoping that the arrival of new people could be used to her advantage. If lucky, it might even be someone she knew. Eyes travelling back to meet his brown ones, momentarily ignoring what was going on behind him, a short "Uhh" was mustered. "Well, I didn't need that in particular. I just saw that it was shiny." she said whilst internally beating herself up for sounding like a jawa. A relatively large shadow soon started growing beneath the feet of the brown-eyed man, shortly followed by a snorting sound. For some reason, Gamorreans always sounded like they were laughing at her when they spoke, and this was no different. "We saw you on the rooftops little human" the first one snorted, holding a big axe in his left hand. "Big Boss make us rich once we turn you in" the other one snorted with a blaster in hand and a great axe hanging by his back.

Great, he thought - he smelt the stench of the two Gamorreans standing behind him, Kyi was so certain that no one was around when he showcased his Force-sensitivity, he was baffled to find out that he was spotted and by Gamorreans at that. He sighed and rolled his eyes before turning around to meet the eyeline of the Gamorreans who dwarfed his 5'10" stature, Kyi also stood in front of the blue-eyed thief with his arm outstretched to his side in a position to defend her if things got dicey.

Kyi snickered to himself, when he was a Padawan he would have already had his lightsaber at the ready and would have engaged the Gamorreans already. His hotheadedness had cooled a lot since then, which is part of the reason why he attained Knight status. One of the Gamorreans must have picked up on his quiet giggle as he quickly snapped at him, raising his voice "Something funny, little human?!" which startled both Kyi and the blue-eyed thief slightly, he could feel her emotions quickly shift through the Force. Kyi elected to attempt to defuse the situation in hopes this standoff wouldn't end in a skirmish.

"Look, I don't want any trouble." he said, while slightly backing away and motioning the thief to do the same. Although, he noticed the Gamorreans were also walking toward the two slightly "If you know what I am, wouldn't it be in your best interest to let us go? You know what I can do to you." he queried with a hint of threat in his voice, still keeping the thief guarded from the Gamorreans. One of the Gamorreans snorted at Kyi's threat before responding, "We'll take our chances."

Kyi noticed the one of the Gamorreans raise his axe and the other aim his blaster at Kyi while also placing its free hand on the axe resting on his back. Time for negotiating was over, Kyi immediately reacted and used the Force to yank his lightsaber out of the thieve's hand, igniting its blue blade once it landed in his own, holding it in front of him defensively, hoping that the sight of the lightsaber would put some sense into the Gamorreans.

While it was true that the thief hoped for a third party to help her out of the mess with the stranger, Gamorreans seemed excessive. Her heart melted as the guy seemed set on defending her too, it was highly appreciated, seeing as the pig-people probably wouldn't be too kind to either of them and even more so after she had stolen his saber. Staying silent, Aurelie observed her new 'ally' stretching out a prepared arm. While she would probably have mouthed off to them or ran away if alone, the freckled man seemed to be attempting to deescalate the situation. As long as the troublesome aliens left, she didn't care much for how he did it.

Despite the two of them backing away, the Gamorreans stated their intent to attack anyways. Knowing that the fellow human would more than likely be able to do more good with the saber than herself, Aurelie speedily detached it from her belt, just quick enough for him to yank it out of her hand. Having seen more than her fair share of action, the thief already had her eyes on the one with a blaster. Being a fair bit faster than the foe along with having good reflexes (level 2), the girl managed to pull out her own blaster, which was still set to stun, and fired off five bolts. The close range and speed required meant that she fired them rather wildly in the general direction of his blaster and arm. While most of the shots missed, the third one hit the arm, causing it to go limp and the blaster pistol to fall to the ground.

Even though what she regarded as the most imminent threat was out of the picture, the threat was still far from over as the pig was now pulling out the axe with his other arm. "You.. we must get out of here. Others must have heard the shots." she said, still with a raised blaster and two angry Gamorreans pushing them back through the alley.

The Gamorreans were either fearless or plain stupid, they didn't react to his lightsaber at all and continued to make their way to the two. Kyi immediately used his lightsaber to swipe away the Gamorrean's axe - cutting it in half with a hissing sound caused the Gamorrean to take a quick step back, smoke flew from the Gamorrean's severed axe and he dropped it to the sandy ground with a loud clang out of frustration. The Jedi Knight remained focused, aiming his lightsaber at the Gamorrean in case it had decided to make any sudden moves. During Kyi's and Gamorrean's quick skirmish, a blaster shot went off that he hadn't fully registered until disarming the Gamorrean.

He looked over to the other Gamorrean and noticed his arm was limp and his blaster was on the ground, she must have used the stun setting on her blaster - Interesting, he thought, as she elected to use non-violent methods to deescalate the situation, he was impressed. The girl called out to him, stating that they should run as the blaster fire would be sure to draw the attention of other unwanted guests to which the Knight agreed. "After you." he said, still aiming his lightsaber at the two Gamorreans with one hand.

He heard footsteps trail off behind him, he turned around to see the thief was leading the escape and he followed quickly after her - his lightsaber hissed upon being deactivated by him, Kyi proceeded to clip the lightsaber to his belt under his poncho. The Jedi and the thief panted as they made their way through the alleys attempting to escape the Gamorreans, Kyi turned to look back and saw that the two Gamorreans were still after them but it wasn't too much of an issue, they were slow, he was fast and from what he could tell; the girl was even faster.

"I'm Kyi by the way," he said with a mischievous, boyish smile as his short dreaded hair flew back in the wind.

It was all over within a few moments. At least as over as one could've hoped for in their situation. Aurelie's eyebrows shot up in surprise as she heard the "After you" Apparently, he wasn't too interested in ending the threat once and for all. Without a second thought, the thief gave him a curt nod without caring much for whether he saw it or not. Not long after, she was on the run, throwing a backwards glance to ensure that he was with her.

Various escape routes and hiding spots flashed through her mind as she tried to determine how to get out of their situation. Not only did they have the two Gamorreans on their back, they might also get some better runners after them if a force user's presence was announced. She thought back to the slashed axe, that would surely give whoever found it a hint. Avoiding running too far towards the edges of the maze of buildings, Aurelie lead them through alleys and yards, taking sharp turns at what would seem like random moments to the untrained eye.

Although not being able to resist returning his smile, the young woman did not relax just yet. "I'll give you mine in just a moment" she said between relatively heavy breaths as they ran. Soon, they reached an abode and a lower shack creating a very narrow alleyway. A piece of cloth covered a hole in the shack's wall "In there" she said with a finger pointed at the hole. After they'd entered, she directed him to move in behind a large pile of rubble, behind which was a mattress, some clean clothes and a lamp that was turned off.

The thief sat down at one end of the mattress, patting on the other for Kyi to have a seat. She had been using names that weren't her own on many a occasion where she didn't trust the one she was dealing with. "Aurelie" she said in a low voice as multiple footsteps could be heard in the distance outside. The girl looked at him for a few silent moments - his lightsaber was blue, he seemed kindhearted and at the moment, he was not even aggressive towards her "Are you a jedi?" she asked carefully. While their good nature might have been known in the past, 500 years of Sith rule had done them no favours. It was clear that she was somewhat hesitant at the moment.

Kyi continued hot on the thief's tail, making sure as to not stray too far behind. There, she abruptly stopped to which the Knight was about to ask why - the thief then revealed a secret hiding spot inside a shack in a small alley way which was hidden by a piece of cloth. She directed Kyi inside it to which he complied and headed inside first. Past all the rubble revealed a mattress, come clothes and a lamp, Kyi queried in his head if this was some sort of hideout or if this was...where the girl lived.

Before he could theorise any further however, the thief sat down at the end of the mattress and patted on the other side to make way for him to sit next to her. Kyi trailed over and sat next to her in the mattress, if she did live here, he felt really bad for her - this mattress was not comfortable at all. Kyi took a few moments to adjust his sitting, "Aurelie." she said quietly as the footsteps of the Gamorreans ran straight past the shack, he was confused for a moment before realising this was the thief's name in a matter of seconds...it was a pretty name though. Before he could let her know this, she continued with a question, asking him if he was a Jedi.

Kyi then took a few moments weighing out the outcome of revealing this truth, he ended up deciding that he'd might as well tell her the truth seeing as she saw him use the Force and saw him wield a lightsaber in combat for a short period. He let out a deep sigh before responding "Yeah, what gave it away?" he jested, playfully nudging her arm with his elbow. "What about you? There's gotta be more to you than just some common thief?" he asked, genuinely curious. Kyi figured he'd might as well engage in conversation while they hide out and wait for the heat on them to cool down.

The atmosphere was quickly improving. Aurelie threw the young Jedi a fond glance and withheld laughter to the best of her abilities. They weren't quite in the clear yet. "Mmh, the freckles, brown eyes and shaved hair for one" she joked with a wide smile. Of course, there were more obvious signs, but he probably knew of those already. "And the poncho, Sith would wear a real cape" she continued.

After he asked his second question, the thief raised her index finger in front of her mouth whilst staying as quiet as she possibly could, going as far as to hold her breath - although that was probably not necessary. The piece of cloth was suddenly raised by a green hand. A Rodian stuck his head inside, quickly scanning the room. Fortunately, she didn't bother to check behind the pile of rubble before withdrawing from the shack. Letting her breath out, Aurelie formed a fist to raise in a triumphant pose and formed the word "Victory" while looking at Kyi, hoping that he could read lips.

Once it quieted down outside again, the young woman turned to the Jedi "I'm no common thief!" she whispered sharply, obviously pretending to be offended. "If you hadn't cheated, I would've gotten away" she continued, defending the claim of being rather uncommon. Aurelie was quickly starting to grow more fond of her newfound, but perhaps temporary, ally. After hesitating for a bit she whispered "I'm sorry for trying to steal your sword, by the way. And thanks for not giving me up to those Gamorreans." Her tone was genuine and by now, the earlier traces of hesitation were a thing of the past.

Kyi had a swift hot flush when he spotted the Rodian poke his head through the cloth to see what was inside, thankfully the Rodian didn't spot the two and he retracted from the cloth and went about on his way. Kyi noticed that Aurelie was holding breath from the small exhale she had let out after the Rodian had removed his head, the Knight let out a half smile when she pumped her fist in the air triumphantly and from what he could tell, was mouthing the words "victory." to which his half smile turned into a full one with a small chuckle added to it.

When the coast was clear once more, Aurelie replied to Kyi's original question in a hushed tone, stating she was no common thief while feigning offence, the Jedi Knight responded by jokingly raising both of his arms up in surrender. She then continued, stating that if he hadn't have "cheated" she would have gotten away which resulted in an eye roll from the freckle-faced Jedi - if using any method necessary to get his possession back was cheating, then by all means, he definitely cheated. Aurelie then apologised for stealing his lightsaber which he appreciated very much - acknowledging it with a nod, what came next however was definitely a surprise; she thanked him for not abandoning her to the Gamorreans.

Kyi crossed his arms and kept his eyes closed, "Well, it wouldn't have been the Jedi way." he said in response to her appreciation, Kyi wasn't wrong but he also didn't give Aurelie the full details - he was a big softy, he always wanted to help those in need and even though she had stolen his lightsaber and would have probably sold it off to some Jawa, he wouldn't have been able to live with himself if he let the Gamorreans take, or worse, kill Aurelie. Although, he wouldn't let her know his true reasoning to helping her out. "So, what do we do then?" he asked, "I could leave any time I wanted but you? Do you even have a ship to get off planet?" he continued, asking with genuine concern in his voice.

Mysterious. The guy talked about a Jedi way, causing the young woman's eyebrows to furrow in confusion. There weren't many in the galaxy who followed a moral code to the degree that Kyi seemed to do. She wondered what more this Jedi way of his could contain - at least it didn't seem to be too harsh on criminals, considering that she was safe and sound with him now instead of captured by the Gamorreans. She didn't respond with much more than a shrug and a smile, figuring that the code was probably longer than what he could reasonably be expected to explain in their current position.

Letting out a chuckle, Aurelie leaned her head to the side. "You were spotted by Lokram's goons. I don't think you'll be leaving aaanytime soon" she said, almost playfully after the initial seriousness. He was most likely in much bigger trouble than herself - the bounty on Jedi was high and he was there without any backup. Without much of a warning, she moved onto his other question. The idea of having a ship was rather amusing to her. Ships were expensive. She had been the co-pilot of a very impressive ship in the past and had always operated from one when traveling the galaxy with her father, but those were mere memories by now. "Also, no, I don't. But me and Scrappy get by alright. We can usually hitch a ride if we need one." she said rather plainly, describing the way that she had gotten by for the past period of time.

As she thought about it, the girl figured that she could probably leave the guy without any real repercussions. His code more than likely forbade him from doing much against her walking away, and if anyone asked, she could just claim that the Jedi left her. Her eyes scanned his freckled face whilst considering what to do. Finally, her eyes stopped, to meet his brown eyes - the matter was decided. "So, what shall we do? I doubt you'll get to the spaceport unnoticed" she asked back, remaining still on her side of the mattress, half expecting Kyi to wish to talk to the local crime lord.

Aurelie had mentioned Lokram, Kyi had heard of Lokram before - a Trandoshan, who's misdeeds on Tatooine spread across the Outer Rim and it'd probably be best to bring him in, whether it be the Tatooine authorities or the Galactic Alliance. Kyi considered for a moment, if he wouldn't be able to get off planet; maybe he could use this as an opportunity to take down Lokram...it was just a thought though. "Who's Scrappy?" he asked with a look of curiosity in response to Aurelie's statement about her getting by just fine.

The thief continued to surprise the Jedi, she asked Kyi what they should do - she was willing to help him out and he greatly appreciated it but he didn't want to endanger her. Kyi knew that Jedi were a high bounty across the galaxy and that it'd be best not drag Aurelie into it, the young Jedi Knight would have to solve this problem on his own. Kyi turned to the pretty young thief and let out a reassuring smile,
"I appreciate your commitment, seriously, but I can't let you take that risk." he said calmly, channelling his inner Jedi, "I'll have to do this on my own." he neglected to inform Aurelie that he was going to capture Lokram, if he did he was certain she'd try and to accompany him.

Kyi rose from the uncomfortable mattress and slightly stretching out his arms, he made his way to exit the shack and lifted the cloth to make his way out but before leaving, he turned to look back at Aurelie and gave her a lazy salute with his left hand,
"Thanks for letting me hide out here." he said, finally exiting the shack. Kyi was greeted by the suns of Tatooine, it was a jarring change after being inside the dimly-lit shack, he covered his eyes in response. The Jedi Knight began making his way through the alley ways, actively searching for Lakrom's thugs that were hellbent on kidnapping him earlier.

Without sharing too many details, the thief simply stated that Scrappy was her droid. The machines were generally useful, almost regardless of what type of machine it was. Aurelie enjoyed traveling with Scrappy, the war droid did keep her rather well protected against a thug or two, but for the purposes of making credits discretely, he wasn't of much use.

A concerned expression grew on her face as he thanked her and talked about not letting her take a risk "Hey, I'm not a child" she exclaimed, seemingly to little effect as the freckled man remained calm, stating that he would have to do something on his own. The girl's concern was growing stronger as time went on, especially seeing that he was intent on leaving the shack. Sneaking around, navigating in the city, getting away in general, she was good at that. Why he wouldn't want to enlist her help was beyond her understanding. Suddenly, it dawned on her that the Jedi might have a grudge against her still, stealing wasn't the most flattering activity after all. It was a demoralising realisation but in the end, not too unexpected or undeserved.

By the time Aurelie had composed herself enough to react, Kyi was already at the exit. She sat in complete and utter silence, only producing a meek and short-lived smile as she watched him thanking her and then leaving with a lazy salute. After a few moments of nothingness, the young woman took out her holocom "Scrappy, get to the Spacer District and be ready to move out" she said curtly before quickly taking off her jacket and grabbing a dirty white coat from behind the mattress and wrapped a piece of cloth around her head - in the manner locals used to do to protect themselves from sand. Before thinking too much, the girl had headed out of the shack too. She was going to make sure the Jedi could get to his ship safely whether he knew of it or not.

After about five minutes of nothing, the Knight opted to travel to the the Spacer District in hopes of maybe drawing some attention there. Finally exiting the cramped alley ways of Mos Eisley and into the public eye of Spacer District - he began navigating the crowds and remembered how much he hated being in the presence of highly populated areas for two reasons; one was because it was difficult to navigate and second was due to the Jedi Knight's enhanced empathy through the Force, he felt like a battery that absorbed all the feelings of the people around him and honestly, it was draining.

During all of this, he couldn't help but think of Aurelie. Not for the reasons you're thinking of, not romantically. He just had thought of her situation, she seemed like a good person and couldn't help but feel sympathy that she was forced into a criminal's life like this despite her good nature...she tried to hide it but he can sense it through the Force, deep down there was light there. Kyi wished they could have met under different circumstances while also wondering if the two could have formed some kind of friendship if not for their lifestyles...either way, he couldn't put her safety at risk and find out.

All these thoughts would come to a grinding halt when he heard a familiar voice call out to him, "Oh, little huuuuuuman." it called out in a mocking tone, Kyi turned around to see the two Gamorreans, and with backup this time; they were accompanied by a Rodian and a Dug. Kyi stayed in place and allowed them to approach him, "Not so tough without your little thief buddy are you, Jedi?" the Dug asked condescendingly. Kyi grinned a little and held both his hands up in surrender, "You got me." Kyi said sarcastically, his plan was to get captured by them and then be led straight to Lokram - the idiots walked right into it. "Guess you're gonna take me back to the 'Big Boss' eh?" he added. The four thugs said nothing, they only chuckled before stepping behind him and forcefully began shoving Kyi in the direction of where they were headed.

Looking ahead, Kyi spotted Aurelie peeking her head out of one of the alley way and made direct eye contact with her. He cursed to himself under his breath and scrunched up his face at Aurelie as a way to warn her not to follow. He really hoped she would listen.
