Do either of the major factions desperately need support? I've been considering creating a military personnel to fill in while I'm waiting on other replies but I don't know who I should side with. Would anyone care to sum up the current war events and faction status?

Both the Republic and Alsakans are recruiting. Think about what kind of character you want to make, take a look at each of the factions and decide which one you would prefer. Alsakans and Republicans (soldier wise) are in some ways very similar, but in other vastly different, so pick which you'd prefer.

As of now, we are in a ceasefire so any fighting would be done by proxy forces and even that hasn't happened. I would say the Alsakan army could use it more as they need enough recruits to run missions so that they can be promoted to some form of officer. As of now, there are very few active and capable officers or generals.
Another faction which could also use help would be the Onderonian faction which is a major independent faction. They have only one PC, the king.
Both factions are outnumbered by the Republic, the Alsakans are outnumbered 3 to 1, the Onderonians 10 to 1. That probably has more to do with the lack of success on behalf of the Alsakans. As of now, the Onderonians have not engaged in combat in the RP.

I'm leaning towards Onderon because I know a little more about its history and standings. However, I do not know it's role in the current conflict and I haven't found where the ideals and views of the three factions mentioned are, where ever they may be. I've looked but apparently not well enough. Could someone link them?
That link above just tells about the planet; it doesn't say anything about how it is involved in the main rp. I found the Republic and Alsakan pages I overlooked though.
