Making a Jedi

I thought I was gonna just stick it out with my 1 remaining PC till the end of the timeline, but I've seen a lot of people posting about promotions, and training and it sounds pretty fun. I always thought the major factions were stagnate and it took forever to get promotions, etc. Guess I was wrong. Anyywayyyss I'm really interested in making a Jedi, but I haven't been following what's standard for you guys. Anyone wanna give me some pointers on what powers I can start with? Or lightsaber styles? And is there a temple system where you get abducted.. err.. adopted as an infant and trained as a youngling, or is the whole thing random Jedi finding force sensitive people out in the wild and bringing them in?

As a new Padawan you can start with telekinesis, sense, jump, speed, and maybe one other power that you kinda know (typically I like to see this be something important to the characters bio) all at the Novice level or below if you have something simpler than novice. Lightsaber style really any so long as your mastery is the same as the Force powers, but you can only have one. And no temple system, and no abductions. Basically either a Jedi tells you you can use the Force and offers to train you, or you figure it out for yourself and you seek out one of their hidden outposts or a Jedi who can take you there.

How do you seek the temple/Jedi to take you there? Trying to get all of these things ironed out for a bio before I begin writing one and then have to edit it.

Would telepathy be one of the other kinds?

You could do telepathy, but I have to reiterate it should be no better than your core powers (which I listed), really it should be worse.

As far as finding a Jedi that's for you to figure out. Either include it in the backstory or RP it out. Jedi still do missions and help the Rebels/other people, they just don't have a big temple that says "JEDI HERE" so the Sith can't just walk in and kill them all.

Well for my bio specifically I had my character find a Jedi that had stopped on his home world to resupply her transport. It sort of fit with his story because he had been trained rather far with force sense by the Taraslin. So it was a matter of fate, or rather guidance of the force that placed them where they were.

As for Telepathy from what I understand from wookiepedia it seems that one if a little more of an advanced power. The basic form being Force Empathy which is an extension of Force Sense. Granted there are species that are naturally inclined towards telepathy which could possibly be worked into the character?
