The Reeking Reek,
Nar Shaddaa

]A Hutt Cartel Vigo's work is never done. Spectre has been hard at work working to increase his own standing in the Hutt Cartel and doing things of benfit for himself and the Cartel as well. And even though he is a Vigo and therefore a ranking boss in the Cartel in his own right, he hasn't stopped doing hands-on work as well, as Spectre participated in a prison bust to get a Cartel member out of prison on Alderaan.

It would be at night time on the Smuggler's Moon, Spectre have just arrived through the door of the Reeking Reek very recently. The Reek had been sort of a to-go-to place for Jack Lawson to hang out at whenever he wants or needs a drink. "Corellian brandy" he asked of the bartender. Spectre would be sitting at the bar while waiting for it. It's a slow day at the Reek, which is just fine as Spectre isn't exactly a people's person anyway. There would be some patrons here and there, the bouncer would be outside. But he would be the only person at the bar with adjacent seats empty. Once he gets his drink he will see himself to the VIP section, he just now has to wait for the Chevin bartender to finish preparing it.

The Hutt Cartel Vigo would be wearing his normal black suit with all his usual items on hand. The Hutt Cartel Vigo is never without protection under his suit unless he can help it, and he is never without his blaster pistol holstered under his shoulder underneath his jacket.

The Reek. Phrayn usually avoided places like the Reek, places where, simply put, alcohol could be found - but the need for a job was greater. Places like that also happened to be where people like him often found gainful employment, and he needed one.

The Chiss entered anyway, muttering some curse under his breath, making his way to the bar. "Water." he simply said, with a tired look, to the Chevin behind the counter. Usually folks asked him to pay for the glass of water, and when they didn't he felt obligated to pay anyway, so as to make sure his stay in whatever bar he was in didn't end up with him being thrown out.

Phrayn sighed as he sat down, eyeing for a moment the stranger he hadn't even noticed he'd sat down next to. A suit - surely that couldn't be all that was special about the man. Sight can decieve, but critical thought rarely does.

"Nice suit." the Chiss said almost instinctively. It was rare the time he saw someone on Nar Shaddaa wearing such attires. After all, he was wearing armour himself, scratched and dented at places, noticeably so... The Smuggler's Moon wasn't very well-frequented, at least in Phrayn's opinion. He had more than his fair share of troubles on that rock.

What's life without a bit of adventure anyways?

"Nice suit" the Hutt Cartel Vigo/Slicer heard as the Chevin bartender finally finished preparing his glass of brandy and put it on the bar. Now the Chevin could work on getting the water for the Chiss the Spectre turned his attention towards. The Vigo then turned his head towards Phrayn, hs attention now on him as he picked up his glass of brandy with his right hand. Oh, a Chiss? Interesting. Spectre doesn't see a Chiss very often. "Well thank you." he said to the bounty hunter with a half smile. Jack Lawson isn't exactly an expert on the Chiss people or where ever they came from either, but there are quite a bit of Chiss who stray outside their home, that much he understands. Lawson would then take a sip of his brandy. Now that the Chiss has a good view of more than just his clothing, he should be able to see that the dapper gentlemen is a Hutt Cartel Vigo. Anyone in Hutt Space should know who Spectre is. "So, who might you be?" he would curiously ask the Chiss, taking interest in having him as a new conversational partner. Taking a glance at the other person's choice of attire that he is wearing, it looks to him like it's armor not unlike something bounty hunter, a mercenary, or some other sort of fighter would have. And with his armor dented and scratched, he probably isn't a stranger to fighting either.

As the man thanked Phrayn for the compliment, he nodded in acknowledgement, and just then he noticed who he was talking to.

I might as well play it cool - the Chiss thought to himself - there's no point in taking a step back now as the now-apparent Vigo seemed friendly enough - nor was there any point in ceasing the conversation entirely, as long as he showed respect to the man.

"People tend to call me Phrayn, it's simpler than the full thing." Just then, the Chevin delivered his water, which he promptly drank half of, it greatly refreshed the man, it seems, as if he had been victim of a great thirst. "I hadn't noticed who you were, my apologies." then, Phrayn nodded once more, more a sign of respect than acknowledgement at that point.

Maybe, just maybe.

The Chiss was intrigued. Maybe his luck was turning, but it was too soon to tell at that point. He needed work, new 'friends', and meeting a Vigo for the Hutt Cartel was something that might help greatly on those two issues.

Or maybe this would cost him greatly.

Whichever the case, there wasn't much that Phrayn could do other than trying to cause a good impression.

So, the Chiss' name is Phrayn. He is most likely right about it being simpler than the full thing, from what Jack Lawson knows, Chiss names tend to be to be tongue twisters. Spectre also wasn't really offended by the Chiss not recognizing him at a glimpse. Higher ups in the Hutt Cartel are usually crude, demanding people, who don't always show respect for those under them. Spectre is different in that you have to give him a good reason for you to earn his ire, or cross one of his pet peeves, which this guy seems to be doing a job of steering clear from on his own. Other than that, he will show respect to people like civilized people like him should. "It's all good." Spectre nodded to the bounty hunter. "And pleasure to meet you, Phrayn" he then took a sip of his glass of brandy. The Hutt Cartel Vigo would then wonder about the Chiss' story. Why is he here? Not that he doesn't belong, but that that could prove to be an interesting conversation. The average resident or gun-for-hire on Nar Shaddaa are dimes in a dozen, and Spectre is interested on what brings him to Nar Shaddaa, why the Reeking Reek?: So, interested on getting to know his new acquaintance would then ask. "What brings you to here of all places Phrayn?"

"Likewise, a pleasure as well."

It's been a while someone last said it was a pleasure meeting me. Occupational consequences, I suppose. The Chiss thought. It was true, most of his last conversations had been either with employers or victims, and none of them had been so cordial, obviously.

"If you mean Nar Shaddaa, work..." - he chuckled lightly - "... or if you mean this fine establishment, a simple drink, and conversation."

Honesty, it seemed, was how Phrayn was going about the conversation. He didn't see the need for anything else other than honesty at that moment. In fact, he thought it might help his situation, as long as he wasn't crude.

"Jumping from job to job doesn't work without some time inbetween, everyone needs some rest every once in a while." He drank the rest of his water, letting out a satisfied sigh.

"No vices though." Phrayn shook the empty glass, with a smirk.

"Work huh?" Spectre echoed as he listened to the Chiss speak. He was curious as to what kind of work the guy did. It is obvious from the armor he is more of the hands on type, but that would be anything and Spectre is still in an unusually social mood. He was more interested in what brought him to Nar Shaddaa, not necessarily the Reek but he didn't specify but either way, Lawson nodded as he answered. He appears to be a simple man trying to make his way in the galaxy and taking every moment he can to relax. He can dig that. "I see. Mind if I ask what kind of work you do? Just curious." the Hutt Cartel Vigo would take a sip of his brandy after he asked his Chiss acquaintance curiously. The guy mentioned he jumps from job to job so he seems freelance or he works for an employer that hands out jobs here and there to do. Lawson is taking his time with brandi, as he always does as he awaits an answer from his new friend, as he wonders.

Phrayn smiled brightly - it was as if he was already expecting such a question.

"I can be described as a 'will enforcement agent'." He wasted no time before beginning to explain. "Let's imagine a certain person wants someone found, maybe even captured, or harmed..." The Chiss shrugged, as if he wasn't saying anything new. "... for the right price all of that can happen, in that order even."

He continued explaining, supporting himself with one arm on the counter, and using his other, free hand to make gestures while explaining.

"Doesn't necessarily need to be a person, it can be whatever they so will - so, I enforce the will of whoever hires me."

Phrayn
chuckled lightly, and grinned as he concluded.

"I am, however, better at the people bits though."

The Hutt Cartel Vigo listend to the what the Chiss had to say. A 'Will Enforcement Agent' he said. As he explained, Spencer nodded along and listening with his undivided attention. "I see" Spectre replied. "A problem solver... I might be in need of one of those" he said as he had shown a faint smile and a faint chuckle. It's an undeniable truth that he will be in need of one of those, not now, but in the future. Becoming a Vigo in the Hutt Cartel comes with territory. Threats will arise from with-in the Cartel and without. And although Spectre would like to shed the least amount of blood, but at time's in unavoidable, he learned this during his time as an Basadi, just this is on a bigger scale.

Spectre would then get up from his seat, and then address the Chiss once more. "Hmmm, lets go up upstairs shall we? We can continue this conversation at the VIP balcony." he would offer the Chiss. The VIP section should be empty considering how slow business is this late at night. Even though the main area isn't that populated, he wanted to go up there anyways for the atmosphere before he was side-tracked. Plus less of a chance of the other patrons hearing things they shouldn't be.

Phrayn's grin grew wider as the Vigo expressed his thoughts. It was a good thing the Chiss had bumped into him, and furthermore complimented his suit.

Luck might be changing.

"Exactly." he simply added after being called a problem solver. In fact, Phrayn had never thought of even calling himself that, and it had a better ring to it than 'Will Enforcement Agent' - that made it too formal, too official.

The Chiss perked an eyebrow, intrigued at being invited to the VIP section, but it made sense, of course. There were no friends in Nar Shaddaa, only acquaintances and business associates, each waiting for their slice of whatever business they were so fond of... And the walls might've had ears down there. Plus, Phrayn couldn't even remember the last time he actually was in any sort of VIP area, so that was a bonus.

He promptly nodded, gladly accepting the Vigo's invitation.

"Certainly." the Chiss stood up, with a smirk. "Lead the way." He seemed ready, and perhaps a bit eager, to follow.

"Alright" he would smile towards his new acquaintance as he would take a sip of his brandi and then he proceed to make his way up stairs, expecting the Chiss to follow along behind him. "This way" he gesture his head forward. Once they would get up all the way up stairs, they would come across a bouncer up stairs. The bouncer is there as this is a VIP area, keeps non-VIPs out and makes sure the VIPs are well cared for. The Chiss following the Vigo is an honorary VIP for tonight as he was invited by Spectre.

The two would eventually come across to the balcony with two seats overlooking the Smuggler's Moon which is lit up in the night. The speeders are zooming, but because this is Nar Shaddaa, it's not really the best view. It's really the exclusiveness and the atmosphere Lawson cares about. He would take his seat on the left chair, expecting Phrayn to take the opposite one. There would be a table in the middle of the two, in which drinks could be set on them if needed. Spectre would still have his glass of brandy still in his right hand. Once the Chiss makes himself comfortable however he wants, Spectre would look at his acquaintance. "Well, here we are." he would chuckle over. "I do have a have a big project that is in the works. I haven't had my station for very long yet, but I don't plan on wasting any time. And I have no doubt once things really get started, I'll have some enemies to deal with, both inside the Cartel and out. No doubt i'll be stepping over people's fingers, that would a guy like you could come in. Problems that need a problem solver to deal with. I don't need someone of your talents just yet, but when I do, I'll be sure to let you know. How does that sound?" He won't spill the beans on his project yet. He would rather that remain to the people directly involved at the moment. He might bring in the Chiss on it later, but there is a saying 'loose lips can't sink ships', and it's on a need-to-know basis. But he is pretty much offering the guy work whenever it comes up as. The position of a Cartel Vigo is an interesting one, it has it's own challenges, but they will come up in due time. It's only a matter of when. Lawson isn't a fan of hitmen, but in his position, it could prove to be a good idea to build a solid rapport with a few. Never know when you will need them.

Phrayn did follow the Vigo, happily so, leaving his empty glass of water behind.

My luck's changing - the thought crossed his mind several times as he was brought up into the VIP section by Spectre, all the way up to the balcony, where the thought intensified.

The Chiss felt good - truly a feeling he hadn't experienced for a long time - as he looked out to Nar Shaddaa upon taking his seat. The view wasn't the best, true, it was the Smuggler's Moon after all, but being there, having been invited to the VIP section by a Vigo, truly Phrayn's luck appeared to be changing.

Then, he listened, intently so - A big project? Enemies? Opportunity. - slowly nodding along as he did. Even though Spectre had his full attention, he didn't really care much about whatever plan the Vigo had... He did, however, care more about being involved. That was everything.

"Sounds like you have the right Chiss." Phrayn promptly replied, smirking cockily. "If it's a problem solver you'll eventually need, you'll get it."

The smirk persisted on Phrayn's face, as he seemed to definitely be enjoying his seat.

"Splendid." the Hutt Cartel Vigo said as he smirked as he glanced at the Chiss, he would take another sip of his drink "I'll be sure to give you a call when the need arises and such." his expression has changed to a neutral one. "And yeah, of course they would paying jobs, so not to worry." Well, the Chiss didn't seem to worried about the pay. Business talk had more or less ended there. Spectre be looking across the bleak horizon before he would say anything else. He was curious about his friends origins. After all, Chiss aren't a very common species outside their home space. And even then Lawson doesn't know much about it. Their territory is an engima among the rest of the known galaxy. He is in a mood to be curious so why not. "So, what is Chiss space like Phrayn? We really don't get a lot of Chiss here." He would ask his acquaintance. The conversation is winding down to where it's more like casual chit-chat more than buisness discussion. Spectre would still be sitting while putting his left elbow on his seat's chair arm.

Phrayn smiled, pleased at the Vigo's assurance that he would be called, and that it would be a paying job. He seemed happy enough.

Then came the question about Chiss space, one this Chiss couldn't answer properly. He'd never been to the Confederacy on account for the sins of his parents, never even travelled within it's boundaries, so he would have to disappoint Spectre with his answer.

"Couldn't tell you about it." he replied, his happy expression turning into a more serious one "I've never been to Chiss space. All I can remember from my childhood is jumping from port to port, never staying in one place, all outside Chiss space." he shrugged, as if he was disappointed himself.

Phrayn smirked - "Just adds more mystery I suppose." - and seemed to look at it in a positive light, amused at the fact that not even he knew much about his space of origin.

Ah, so the Chiss was born outside of Chiss space. He would nodd his head with an intrigued expression. "I see", The guy doesn't know anything about Chiss space, so there isn't much use of inuring about it. Oh well. Spectre's turned his head towards the bleak horizon of the Smugger's Moon. Looks like with that, there really isn't much else to discuss. There would be a silence that falls into the air, you could hear a pin drop... if not for the sounds of the repulsorlift engines in many speeders off in the distance, some more louder than others. It's night time and he doesn't feel like being at the Reek any longer. With, that, the Hutt Cartel Vigo would get out of his seat, with his glass empty gripped in his left hand. "Well Phrayn." Pause. "It was nice to meet you. If I have need of you I'll give you a shout." he would extend his right hand to the Chiss for a handshake as he has a slight grin. Spectre isn't like a normal criminal boss who would treat those under him like dirt. He is a professional and treats those under him like they capable people (unless they earn his ire, which Phrayn hasn't done).
