Open [Manaan] Taking Matters Into Our Own Hands

Eirik had been occupied by the door, feigning a search for gems he did not believe had fallen out so easily. With the women only in his periphery, he did not have as good a view of the sudden outburst of Dark Side energy as his comrades did, but even being nearby was enough. His senses screamed out in alarm as the corruption washed over the room. Gritting his teeth, it took an impressive force of will to resist drawing his sunfire sword and rush to combat the evil that had now outed itself in the room. Instead, he moved alongside Hera, eyes playing over the scene.

He had heard the exclamation of surprise targeting the Senator. That the other woman knew that something was amiss, especially as suspects in an alleged kidnapping - or something more nefarious - case, alarmed him. Hiding amongst the trio was a Sith of some power, and he had no choice but to believe all three were, in some way, mired in darkness. With their past behavior and actions, coupled with their increasingly-suspicious performance once in the tour center, there was no easy elimination of suspects. This had all but confirmed his paranoia of something foul being at play.

As the selkath, droids, and ISC enforcers poured into the room, he kept his hands away from his jacket and in clear sight. Though he remained unarmed, he began to wrap himself with the invisible energies of the Force. He was ready to intervene at even the slightest non-compliant act, trained eyes watching the three women with utmost caution.

Looking in through the doorway, Syl had eyes on the situation within the bathroom, but even if she didn't she would have reacted the way she did when the Dark Side suddenly flared within the room. She stepped into the bathroom at once, Force immediately within her grasp, ready to move at the first sign of further action from any of the trio.

"Please," she called to the three women in the bathroom, even as she heard the footsteps of approaching heavy armor, "stay put where you are. All of you." With that she watched as the ISC authorities poured into the room, staying out of the way but keeping an eye on the trio, for she had no idea exactly who had used the Force. Hera's warning shared with the new arrivals, the best thing for the Jedi to do was let them do their job and make sure that the darksider among the women did not cause them trouble, whoever it was.

[System Defense Force]

Relations between the ISC security forces and the Selkath had been strengthened through numerous exercises arranged to better allow cohesion between the ISC protectors and the locals. There had been attempts by political rivals and criminal elements to try and drive a wedge between them, after all, so team-building days had been arranged and everyone had, semi-begrudgingly, agreed and gone along with it. But no one could really doubt the benefits, however, because the first Selkath to grow nervous was also the first to place a call to the ISC army officers present.

A squad (10) of ISC specialists had been sent over upon first report of potential unrest, with a lieutenant tagging along in command - much to the internal grumbling of the Staff Sergeant about being supervised on a simply investigation run. With the squad's standard scout droid flying on ahead, the rest of the squad made sure to act calm and alert. Their presence was as much about making sure the population was reassured as it was about running off potential criminals.

The scout droid began to hover closer as the outpouring of the Force surged within the bathroom and the order for double-time was given to the specialists as they burst into the tourist agency. Another squad was already responding, being confirmed as entering in another entrance to cut off potential escape routes. Even as the infantry droids moved up with their rifles set to stun, the lieutenant in charge of squad one, Lieutenant Renka, called out.

"Everyone please remain calm!" she called out to the tourist centre in general as the droids marched toward the bathroom, "Staff Sergeant Riddle, push back any civilians. You people!"

She pointed her pistol, also in stun mode, at the assembled peoples outside the bathroom and those inside.

"Everyone out of the bathroom; now! This is now a police action and the use of stun-force is authorised. Everybody out, hands where we can see them. And you!" she gestured with her free hand to Eirik who was outside the bathroom, "Step away from the door, sir. Now... who wants to explain to me why I have a Selkath guide shouting in my ear-piece about 'potential terrorism or, worse, vandalism'."

A trio of the five specialists went with the Staff Sereant to form a perimeter and start hurrying passersby to pass-by somewhere else. Two remained beside lieutenant Renka, their rifles also readied for stun. At this point, the Jedi seemed to be more reasonable but the officer still wanted everyone out here and in clear sight before anything got out of hand. She hoped the other squad would arrive soon because there were already enough people here to make this awkward if they decided to act out.
