DESCRIPTION
Long ago, the Automatic Conquest Corps of the dictator Agorander swept across the Galaxy, leaving terror and destruction in their wake. Among the earliest known droid armies in history, the ACC used the now-familiar setup of a central control computer system remotely controlling countless otherwise fairly mindless droids. In their day, they were all but unstoppable.

Their creator, however, foresaw the day that the massive, plodding automatons and highly centralized control scheme that comprised what was known as the Mark I Automatic Conqueror would eventually become obsolete, and set to work on a designing their successor. The "Mark II" model was to be smaller and therefore cheaper, but also more mobile, more independent and more versatile. Its cognitive technology would represent a quantum leap over the comparatively primitive Mark I, with advanced logic and heuristic circuits far ahead of any of the droid's contemporaries. In addition to general infantry work, the type could also serve as a crewbeing aboard a vessel and operate vehicles, much like the Mark I although arguably more sophisticated.

Of note, modern historians believe the Mark II's cognition was only about as sophisticated as a modern 5U infantry droid, albeit likely with better situational awareness and mean cunning.

The Mark II model retained a downsized version of the original's kiirium-plated hull, which rendered it immune to most small arms of its day, although it was not as thick as the Mark I hull and would probably be much more easily penetrated by modern blaster weapons. Even without this advantage, however, the Mark II was formidable; a pair of mounted energy weapons were located in its chest, roughly equivalent to a modern disruptor rifle in power and effect, with a range of about 30 meters and capable of inflicting heavy damage.

Of significance, the Mark II reportedly excelled in hand-to-hand combat. The unit was equipped with a pair of "vibrobracers" on its forearms, ridged with razor-sharp hardened kiirium spikes that were equipped with ultrasonic vibration generators, allowing them to carve through flesh, bone and even light metal with ease. It was also equipped with a similar "vibrocollar" to protect its neck and shoulders. In close quarters, the Mark II could shred concentrated infantry, and reportedly was much more mobile and limber than the Mark I, able to leap up to 8 meters and sprint at up to 40 kph. A favored tactic was apparently to use speed and agility to close with the enemy, often in huge numbers; troops and rioters who faced the Mark II in battle gave it the nickname "Slaughteroid" due to the carnage it produced.

Unlike the Mark I, the Mark II was not wholly dependent on a remote link to a central battle computer to give it tactics and initiative. Mark IIs could operate more independently, able to plan and move based on local data, with some period accounts swearing the things had a sadistic streak. They could, of course, also tap into a central computer network via their comlinks, allowing them to coordinate above the squad or platoon level.

Sadly for Agorander, the Mark II, while formidable, appeared too late to prevent the collapse of the dictator's empire. Only trial production versions saw service, mainly being used to suppress the near-constant riots that plagued the empire in its final days. The type was apparently very common on Agorax, the empire's capital, and it is rumored that huge stockpiles of unused Mark IIs can be found there, manufactured for a campaign of reconquest that was never launched.

LEGALITY
Restricted. The Mark II Automatic Conqueror is a particularly deadly combat droid, as well as an antique, making it doubly restricted if not outright illegal under many jurisdictions. This assumes you can get hold of one anyway.

INTENT
To create a battle droid used by the forces of Agorander. Many of these would guard Agorax, his lost capital world, and may be encountered elsewhere depending on how things go.

ADVANCED TECH
Yes. Mark II Automatic Conquerors are ancient and rare, and if active, do not take kindly to attempts to claim them. In order to acquire one, a plot of 4-5 threads at least would be required, but even then, having a Mark II as a personal droid would almost certainly be more trouble than it would be worth.

Approved, with the same caveat as the old ACC droids- only to be used qithin the context of a related plot. I dont want to see these things conquering the galaxy... again.
