A host of pirates called the Leymone Brigands have terrorized the space lanes around Mustafar. The repeated raids is threatening to devastate the planetary economy, specifically the mining interests there. To secure the latter’s goodwill we will set an ambush for the Brigiands and eliminate them as a threat.

With the Trandoshan's freighter going through hyperspace, six out of the dozen of his own men helping to run the ship, the rebels have some time to prepare themselves for the mission. The objective was to go to Mustafar to take out some pirates calling themselves the Leymone Brigands. How were they going to locate and lure in the pirates to a battle? They will figure that out when they get to the planet. For now all that can be done is to prepare for the mission.

Slamming a clip into place in his Westar rifle the rebel Lieutenant's mind was already focusing on the task at hand. Next he will check on his other weapons to make sure they are in working order. Last he needed was to make the mistake of thinking his weapons are ready without checking first. After a dozen or so missions, Tycho has learned to check each weapon instead of assuming. One too many times he has seen what happens when one does not take the time to check.

"I know we are not quite there yet." Tycho said as he started explaining. He is wearing his usual armor but right now his helmet is strapped to his belt, "But make sure to take the time to check each of your weapons. Last thing you need is for a weapon to not be functioning and not knowing about it." He instructed his two partners and the six men who were not helping to run the ship.

With that said the criminal leaned against a wall with his arms crossed. His rifle shouldered. The man decided to take what time was left before they arrive at Mustafar to relax a bit and figure out a plan to draw in the pirates and take them out.

The Trandoshan was walking through the ship humming thoughtfully, until he crossed paths with Tycho. He didn't know much about the criminal, given that it was their first mission together, but he looked friendly and trustful, so why not. Mephetch leaned next to him and said: "Having five yearsss of exssperiencssse asss privateer, and ssso pirate, I think I have a feeling of what will happen onssse we pop out of hyperssspassse, you know? I'm pretty sssure that they'll jump on usss asss sssoon asss posssible, trying to take usss unprepared. Anyway, I don't think we've talked before, apart from me asssking you for sssome crew for the ssship. I'm Mephetch, but you can call me either Meph or captain" he smiled, offering the human a big scaly hand.

Ashlyna had her blaster rifle sitting her lap as the lizard man introduced herself. Seems she wasn't the only one with pirating experience on board today. That brought a smile to her face. She started to inspect her gun as Tycho had shown her how to do it, talking as she did so. "Nice to meet you. I'm Ash. Nice to know I'm not the only pirate here." She snickered, glancing at Tycho. She certainly wasn't proud of her past, but she had been trying not to let it weigh her down. Especially before a mission. She had mostly done ship operations during her pirating days, but ground combat wasn't unfamiliar to her. "Just keep your eye open for open short range comms. Pirates usually try to act like damaged freighters asking for help. Though these guys seem more like the strike and run kind." Ash had seen both tactics be used first hand, though they were both equally cruel. Though, given this was to be a land engagement, she hoped that the pirates didn't have a good set of ground legs. Still, she had Tycho with her, and that made her confident that they would pull through despite the odds.

Tycho looked to his scaly comrade as Meph walked over to him all while talking.Well it was good to know that the comrade is friendly. The rebel officer smiled, "Pleasure to be able to stop to chat my friend. I'm Lieutenant Draykon. But you can call me Tycho." He told Meph. He will stick to calling Meph by his name since he requested that the reptilian do the same in regards to calling Tycho by his name instead of his rank.

He listened to both of their input on what they should expect. He had no idea what to expect. Yes he was expecting something. But these are pirates they are talking about. If they have gone this long without getting caught or blown apart then they are very crafty. The officer scratched his bearded chin in thought as he sorted through everything he was told. Pinching the bridge of his nose the criminal took a moment or two to sort through everything, "I think with how long they have been doing this..they don't use the same tactic over and over. If I were here this long I would be shaking things up during each run." The rebel officer paused, "So on that note I say we be on our toes and on alert for anything that even sounds slightly suspicious or if anything approaches us."

Tycho is no space man or a pirate. So all he can do is give advice or orders based on his gut feeling. The officer just hoped that he was making the right call here. The last thing he wanted was to make a costly mistake.

He nodded, agreeing with Ash. "Well, the pilot told me that we'll be above Mussstafar in half a hour, ssso we ssshould check out everything" he said, walking to the common room where he took out of a closet a few papers that identified their ship a a freighter from a notable Corellian company. "I hope that your ssstrategy of changing the IFF sssignature of my ssship worksss... Honessstly, I never liked playing the bait" he chuckled, a bit nervous. He knew the limits of his ship, and given the light cannons mounted on his ship, he was right about being worried. If the pirates used only starfighters, they would easily fend them off, while if they used larger ships, well, that would have been a problem.

"Probably won't be able to see much given the volcanic ash being churned up by the planet." Ash commented looking towards their reptilian counterpart. "Unfortunately, we might have to just go in blind. Though, I think if we went into low orbit we'd be able to find the problem." She looked up at the ceiling then back to her companions. "The IFF should be fine. Pirates aren't particularly worried about those things. Unless of course we're flagged as an Imperial gunship or something. In that case we'd be in trouble." Ash smiled and tilted her gaze towards Tycho. "Over all, we should be fine. Once we touch down, we just hit the pirates at their base, then rush out. Pelt their outpost with the ship weapons on the way out, and mission accomplished." She paused before adding. "Well, assuming it all goes to plan of course."

Tycho pondered some more, quietly listening as both of his comrades gave their input on the situation. There is no telling if the pirates will come after them after the ship comes out of hyperspace. There is just as an equal chance of nothing happening as them being attacked or boarded. Depending on how the pirates deal with their targets.

The rebel officer looked between them, "Let's see what happens when we come out of hyperspace. They may attack or they won't. Remember there are other ships in the area as well. So they may not target us. If they don't we will head down to a low orbit to find their outpost and destroy it. That should draw them to us if they do jot attack us while we are heading towards the planet." He suggested, "If fhey do attack us when we come out of the jump we can wait for them to get close then use the cannons to take them out. Or we drop all the shields and let them board and take them out as they head deep into the ship. Set traps and what not."

The officer was not sure about the plan. He never fought pirates. Though fighting pirates should not be that much different than battling rival gangs on Nar Shaddaa. Still the man was not too used to being the one giving the orders or formulating battle plans. The officer took a deep breath as he looked to the reptilian and jedi.

"Captain, we're getting out of hyperspace in three, two, one... now" the pilot's voice said from the intercom, and then the ship stopped, Mustafar looming under it. The stretch od space between them was occupied by an asteroid field with large spaces between each body, so they wouldn't have to worry too much about collisions. "I'd opt for the boarding tactic. But firssst we ssshould sssee if-" "Captain, there are two ships approaching us, a Gorath freighter and a Trench-class starfighter. Shall we engage?" the pilot said. Meph quickly approached the intercom: "Ssshut down the ssshieldsss, make it look like we had a power failure after finissshing the jump!" As he said so, most of the ship got suddenly dark, and emergency lights turned on, tinging the interior of the ship a deep red. The Trandoshan took his pistols out of their holsters and grinned: "Time for sssome fun."

Tycho held his breath as it appeared that the letting them board strategy is going to be the course of action they are going to take. The officer steeled himself as the lights went out. Leaving everything in a red hue as the emergency lights flicked on.

"Yes. Time for us to have some fun. And the pirates to be in hell." He said as Tycho armed his rifle. He looked to the reptilian"Let's split up and get the jump on them." He will tell Tsiss before heading down one of the corridors to set up an ambush point of his own. There he will wait for however many pirates to accidentally step into his line of sight.

After waiting no more than three or so minutes a group of four pirates came down the corridor to the spot that the criminal set up to be his ambush point. But he will wait until they walk past his hiding spot.

The officer kept his rifle aimed on the pirates as they walked past him. When they just got past him the officer fired two bolts. One going into one pirate's skull and the other into another's back. The remaining two spun around, their rifles blazing. Forcing Tycho to take cover. When they stopped, the criminal stepped out and took down the remaining two.

He will then quickly move to find either a new ambush spot or a group of pirates to take out.

He smirked as he went the other way, towards the depths of the ship, not too far from the engineering room, and hid behind a corner right next to a door. After a few minutes, a couple of pirates, both humans, walked in the corridor. They weren't very armed, and their armor was basic, which would probably not manage to protect them from any kind of weapon. As they passed by, the large lizard sneaked behind them, put a hand on one of the two pirates' mouth and stabbed him with his vibrosword, killing him on the spot, and then pulled him in the trash room nearby... The other pirate didn't notice that, at all

As a group of pirates came running in his direction, indicated by their heavy footsteps. The officer stepped into the small dining hall. Shouldering his rifle, Tycho unsheathed his Echani Vibroblade. Thinking the quiet route to take down the pirates is the better route. If he keeps using his rifle or pistol he will attract the pirates towards him, and in bigger groups.

Moving over to a darkened corner, the criminal watched a group of three pirates come into the room. Two headed into the small kitchen. With the single pirate having to keep an eye out in the dining room on his own. He is a sitting duck so to speak. When the single pirate turned his back towards the rebel officer, the man quietly stepped out of the shadowed corner.

Gripping the pirate's throat to keep him from yelling out as he ran him through with his blade. The two other pirates stepped out of the kitchen just as Tycho ran through the one pirate. Immediately the two opened up on the criminal. Forcing Tycho to use the corpse as a meat shield as he tried to figure out what to do.

Well kriff.. The two started moving to flank the rebel officer. Tossing the corpse onto one of the two pirates with a harsh shove. He quickly spun on his heal, wincing as he took a bolt to his flank. But as his spin completed, the pirate to his left was decabitated. Now it was just the pirate to his right.

Turning to face the remaining pirate, Tycho barely dodged a bolt fired his way. Now came the issue of taking down this pirate.

He then proceeded to rather coldly execute the other pirate, planting a blaster bolt in the back of the man's head, and then he walked towards the gunshots he was hearing not too far away. The Trandoshan was grinning wildly, his vibrosword still dripping some blood from the recent kill, and the red lights illuminating the corridors would probably make him be seen as some bloodthirsty monster or something similar.

As he walked, he crossed paths with a few of the other crew members Tycho brought in who were fighting against a group of five pirates. He ducked behind a large crate, pulled out his twin blaster pistols and started shooting while yelling curses in Dosha

Taking a deep breath, Tycho charged at the remaining porate in the dining hall. Doing erratic zig zag motions as the Zabrak pirate shot at him. His motion not only meaning the enemy will have to work harder to get a good aim, but allowed the criminal to dodge the bolts as well.

Before the Zabrak could squeeze off anymore shots though, Tycho ran him through with his blade. Watching the life escape from his eyes as the Zabrak crumbled to the floor. Tycho quickly moved out of the dining hall.

Going down the hallway he came across two of his men trying to take out a group of four or so pirates. Just as his men are behimd a good source of cover, the pirates were as well. Approaching from behind the two men he gestured them to the doorway right next to them to Tycho's left, "I will distract them. You two use the passageway to our left to get behind them." The two men nodded and quickly moved. As they moved Tycho unholstered his quickdraw and started firing at the pirates. Killing one and injuring another.

He just needed to hold them off for a little longer for his two men to get behind them then this group of pirates are finished. Though there is no telling how many pirates in total are onboard the ship.

The Trandoshan's curses can be heard not too far from Tycho's position, sign that they're probably surrounded. After like a minute of so of shooting, the screaming dies out, and Mephetch appears from behind the corner, shooting straight in a Rodian pirate's face! "Need help?" he said with a snarky tone and a wide grin, and he then dodged a blaster bolt, hiding behind a large crate.

The criminal looked too the reptilian as he ducked down behind the crate as the pirates up ahead fired at him. Tycho winced as his move to duck caused pain to flare from his injury, "Yeah can use some help." He told his comrade.

Just then the two men he sent to flank the pirates came out from behind the three remaining pirates, cutting down two. The third started running in Tsiss and Tycho's direction.

The rebel lieutenant got out from his cover and fired at the pirate, clipping the human's hip. The injury caused the pirate to stumble and fall to the ground. That was the last bolt in the quickdraw's clip. Getting back behind the crate he quickly got to work on getting a fresh clip into the pistol.

The Trandoshan quickly dispatched the remaining pirate, and while reloading his own blasters, he listened to the sounds, and chuckled some. "Looksss like thessse were the lassst onesss. But better be completely sssure. You four, come with me, we'll make a round of the whole ssship to check for sssurvivorsss" he said looking at four soldiers. They nodded, and followed the captain.

Ten minutes later, they were all gathered in the main room, some medics taking care of the injured. "Alright, their team isss gone, and apparently the ssstarfighter that wasss essscorting them tried to flee but the gunnersss dessstroyed it. What now?"

Tycho nodded as Tsiss said that he will search the ship for any survivors. The officer got to his feet, shouldering his pistol but left the latch to keep it in place undone for incase he will need the weapon, "I will establish a point for where our people can gather at. And search for survivors." He told the reptilian.

He will keep two of the men with him as he said a encrypted message as to where they are to gather at. The criminal didn't come across anymore pirates. So what they had taken out was all of the pirates that boarded the ship. Tycho was one of the small handful that had to have their injuries treated. As the lieutenant sat there with his top off as a medic treated the wound to his flank the man looked to his comrade as he told him what has happened so far, "If that was all of the pirates. We should head down to their headquarters and destroy it incase what we just faced was not all of them." The officer paused long enough to slip his shirt back on, "With their base destroyed they may go elsewhere or sitting ducks long enough for gunners or authorities to take them out." The man paused again, "But then again. Us going after their HQ may draw out whoever remains of the pirates." The officer noted.

The man stood up, slipping his coat back on, "So as we head down we should be on high alert with men manning the guns just incase what we faced was not all of them."

He nodded in agreement. "What about their Gorath? Do we leave it float in ssspasse? I may have an idea or two on how to ussse it to counter the piratesss" he said with a smug grin, looking at Tycho. Knowing the Trandoshan, he'd probably use the Gorath as a way to land at the pirate base without problems...

Tycho paused, scratching at his beard in thought as his comrade brought up the Gorath. It would be a shame to not use it to their advantage.

After a minute or two of thinking the officer looked to Tsiss with a small grin, "I think it would be a shame not to use it to our advantage." He told the reptilian, "I think you and I may have the same thought in mind." The man looked to the men gathered in the room, "We can take a few of the men with us and leave the rest here to keep a watch out for any pirates heading our way." He noted thinking that the men who stay behind can ambush the pirates somehow if their luck went south.

"Heh, great!" he grinned widely as the two went along with 8 of Tycho's men on the Gorath, leaving the rest on Meph's ship to man it in case other pirate ships would pop out. As they went inside the ship, the Trandoshan headed straight to the cockpit, where, not to the reptilian's surprise, he found the pilot waiting for his comrades. The pilot, a definitely scared Zabrak, quickly surrendered, and the Trandoshan smirked. "Bring usss to your bassse, and don't do anything that would tell your friendsss that thisss ssship hasss been ssseized, ok?"
