Grug's decision to visit Gamorr came suddenly. It was something he had wanted to do since joining the Jedi, but he had never made the effort to go there until now. His best friend, Jubba, was going to accompany him to the outer rim world. It was a brutal planet filled with conflict just outside of Hutt Space. Gamorreans were an interesting people who lived in clans, and Grug hoped to find his old clan family. It was a tie he had to see tied neatly for his journey among the Jedi to feel peaceful. His disappearance from Gamorr likely was forgotten by now, but he had to know. The Gamorrean Jedi's old home would be a challenging visit.

"Jubba. Have good food here!" Grug grunted to his friend as they arrived at their destination, his mind wandering to memories of post-battle feasts. "This area of old clan family."

The odd Jedi had just finished speaking when a few squeals announced the arrival of Gamorrean warriors. They slammed poleaxes into the ground to deter the Jedi advancement. Four warriors seemed ready to battle them for their intrusion. Grug had forgotten how territorial his people could be and he must look like an outsider. Maybe they had made a mistake, but maybe they would listen.

"Stop! Intruders!" They said in unison, practiced due to their years of guarding this land.

"Wait, am friend!"
Grug tried to explain but he seemed to get nowhere with these guards.

No one had made the move to fight yet, but it was clear these guards wanted to fight them. Grug glanced to his large friend who likely looked like a Hutt Cartel emissary coming to enslave the clan. The whole situation just looked bad and Grug was unsure how to fix it. Grug would fight them if it was the only way to make them listen. Fight first, talk later. That was the Gamorrean way.

Jubba had decided to tag along with his friend Grug to visit the latter's homeworld of Gamor where his family came from since it was their homeworld, you know? Anyway, Grug had promised that his family would put on a magnificent banquet in celebration for his long-awaited triumphant return after his many recent successful battles.

Jubba hoped that the food he would be served would come with any new types of recipes or unknown herbs and spices that he had not yet had the pleasure of being introduced to - after all every world he ventured on always had something local that he just had to try.

Being stopped by the clan's guards was a smart idea on their part, Jubba thought. After all, they wouldn't have known why Grug had returned after all this time and were just likely being friendly like he had seen Grug act before.

"Am Jubba, am here to eat. You?"

Unfortunately, sometimes it was hard to get across exactly what he intended to say.

Grug knew that combat and dominance spoke louder than words or credits on Gamorr. These four guards were lined up in a square, two by two. This would hopefully make for a good demonstration if the Gamorrean Jedi could focus enough. He hoped to impress and terrify the warriors with his Jedi powers. Grug targeted the two in front and attempted to slam their heads together quickly to take them out. He had not tried this move much before so it was rough to say the least. His grip was awkward and the pulls were lopsided. The guards were flung to the mud without colliding and grunted in confusion as they recovered.

"Grug is clan. Demand see chef and big mom." His firm voice was hopefully enough alongside his use of magic abilities.

As the guards in the back stood up squealing like scared pigs, one guard from the back who had not been thrown spoke up slowly. This guard seemed unafraid, but curious. Its focus drifted between Grug and Jubba as it spoke. The big guard's aggressive stance even loosened a bit after the demonstration.

"You come for Warlord Tournament?" It asked Grug directly before also asking to Jubba. "Is Hutt Master?"

Warlord Tournament? Grug had not expected to arrive for such an event. That was not something he needed to enter. He just wanted food and closure. A Jedi was not supposed to have ties to others like ruling them. That was supposed to be avoided. Grug thought this but was a bit unsure still. His memory was pretty bad on what the rules actually were. Nonetheless, he had no plans to enter the tournament.

"No, not for tournament. Came for food. Visit." He looked at Jubba, almost seeming hurt. "Is friend, not Master. Not am slave."

By now the other guards had stood up again. They seemed upset and Grug not being there for the tournament maybe upset them further. The two in the front launched at Grug with their poleaxes. To them he was now an intruder rather than a returning clan member for the tournament. Grug had made a mistake by not accepting the tournament.

"If not fighting, leave. Murktwu not need competition. Is new Warlord." One in the back said as he watched the fight begin, seeming to give the demands while the other two fought. "He make big changes. Plan for big wars!"

Big wars? Grug liked battle but he knew that was bad. Clans that were too aggressive got killed off. It took balance, much like how the Jedi taught him. This new warlord sounded foolish and dangerous. Peace and unification did not come from many wars. An idea came to Grug as he lifted his Vibro-choppa to block the attack on himself, figuring Jubba could defend the other one. Grug changed his mind and figured a benevolent Jedi Warlord could save the people.

"Wait, me fight. Grug compete." He grunted as the blades clashed and the two began pushing against each other. "Will win!"

They were here for an adventure, not to pick a brawl with Grug's clan, nor start something that could cause trouble if word got back to the Jedi Council. Jubba giggled when Grug used the force to make two guards hug themselves.

Jubba didn't want to fight his new friends but he remembered all those times that Grug spoke about his homeworld and that fighting was considered a gamoeroan way to show affection. If that was the case here, then these two guards must really miss Grug as they tried to swing their weapons at him.

Jubba himself eyed the guard armed with a vicious looking poleaxe, clearly signaling his intent to befriend Jubba as the Manboar swung. The sound of his lightsaber igniting burst from his hand, the blade in time to take the hit instead of his big face.

Weapons became locked and Grug had shocked the guards with his change of heart. It was an honor to fight in the grand clan tournament. A competitor had a right to join it if they wished. An annoying outsider could be killed by guards, but when he claimed to want to fight, he was no longer someone they could fight to the death. The guards back away quickly, but did not lower their guard.

"You fight? Murktwu will kill you then. We save you for him." They said, allowing the pair entrance further into the village. "Matriarch take new fighters at big hut."

Grug gave a respectful slam to his chest as he walked away. The Gamorrean village was dirty, unorganized, and disgusting. Just like Grug himself. It truly would be home for such a being like Grug if he had not chosen to follow the Jedi. The place fit him well. He approached the grand hovel with Jubba in tow to place his name down for the tournament. He would save this clan from Murktwu the Horrible. Many seemed to be worried about the tournament and the fact that a horrible leader was hoping to win.

"Am beat Murktwu for you, big boss. Better leader." Grug said to the matriarch with a fist raised into the air; she ignored him.

Jubba locked his weapon with the guards as they both pressed forward intending to overwhelm the other. Jubba wasn't the best fighter but it was unlikely that anyone could simply push him away and so they pushed, grunted and strained under the pressure of combat until Grug stunned the guards and offered to fight.

It was extreme luck that Jubba didn't hurt anyone as the guard pulled back, lightsaber pressing forward to complete its swing and cutting only air around them. Grug would fight it seemed, for what Jubba didn't know but he hoped that when Grug won, there would be food enough for them both.

Now that Grug had officially signed up and no one was trying to attack the pair, he decided to explore the area a bit. The tournament would start in a couple of days so the pair could explore, get food, and prepare for what was ahead. Jubba would not be allowed to fight, but the big hut could watch from the stands. Grug hoped his friend would be safe without Grug available to translate. Many here were distrusting of outsiders, but Jubba's people were even worse off.

"We stay few days as plan," he said to Jubba after leaving the sign up area. "See if Grug maybe win. Can watch!"

All that was left to do was wait. Grug would rent a horrifying home for them to rest in while they prepared. It would be an interesting time to say the least no matter who won. Grug trusted his Jedi training alongside his youth training among the Gamorrean clan would give him an edge. The force was his ally while the others were brutes.
