Open, death disabled, social thread for Republica characters or people who want to socialize with Republica characters
Hozan stood at one end of the Violet Lounge. It was obvious where it got its name but aside from the limited color scheme the hybrid enjoyed it. He had arranged for half of the lounge to be cordoned off for a large part, the one he had organized. Anyone from the highest of echelons of the Imperial Republica to the simplest rank and file were welcome. This was a relaxed setting with plenty of drinks, food, music and other comforts. The bars fully stocked, even cigaras and legal vices were stocked behind the bar for purchase. Corners and booths were open for quiet conversation if patrons did not wish to go out on the dance floor.

There were non imperials in the crowd as well though in far fewer number than anyone else. As a simple acolyte he stood back with a glass of wine in hand, occasionally sipping and watching the crowd. Some people came in out of uniform but he still recognized them. It was in their body language. It was important to get to know one's cohorts and not just for his own sake.

The night was young and it was starting to get busier as time went on. The tall canine acolyte was already on his third glass of wine for the night and was feeling good about himself. He felt that it would be a night of adventure and progress. Hopefully there would be some interesting guests that would show up.[/abox]

Kal slowly moved through the crowd at the Violet Lounge. His massive 7' frame made it hard for him to simply walk in a crowd with out stepping on people. But in here he let the force guide his foot steps through to a nearby area. There sat another Shistavan one of the leaner breed of the Imperials. Kal leaned his head to the left to gently expose his throat a shistavan bow and show of respect.

He had wondered if he was going to be only one and also just why he was sent a invitation.

Bron, Kal Bron at your service.

Kal took a stool and turned it for him to sit with out feeling like he was going to fall off of it. Sniffing the air he tested out the air as to see who was near-by and if any of the scents he got were familiar. Being a bounty hunter has made him watch his back in crowded places like this.

It is good to see another of us in the wilds. How have your hunts been?

The Twi'lek was relentless, her hips and a great deal more shaking this way and that as she danced up against him. Percy liked her energy, but he'd be amazed if kept it up all night. The girl was going for it like it was ten minutes to closing, when in fact the night had barely got started.

The young Sith leaned back against the rail framing the dancefloor, taking another sip of his cocktail and surveying the scene. The blueberry liquid roared through his veins, washing away the stresses and anxieties of the week. Between the drink and the jubilant bunch he'd met at the bar, he was feeling relaxed for the first time in a long while.

"Come on" came the excitable demand "let's dance all night!". She reached over and undid another button of his shirt, bright eyes wide with the thrill of it all. Percy moved to bat her away, but she suddenly lunged for a kiss.

"No".

She withdrew immediately, like a hound brought to heel. He'd used his gifts on her without thinking, letting the Force drive home his words and overwhelm her free will. It wasn't a nice thing to do. If he was a better man, he might have felt a little shame. Instead, Percy downed the last of the cocktail and made his way back to the bar, leaving the Twi'lek and her friends to party without him.

Ordering another drink, he reminded himself it wasn't all play tonight.

Talo Geist sauntered through the crowd to the bar, his long black coat flowing behind him. He ignored the looks and sneers of the human imperials who looked down on non-humans, as he had his whole life. He really did not care about them in the lomg run, most were of the same rank as him and he knew deep down that he was probably a better shot and faster thinker than most of them.

He was here simply because he had heard this little event was being thrown by a Sith, and that's where he thought he might make some contacts that can ultimately lead to his moving up in the world.

He ordered a brandy, planning to sip it and watch the crowd. He turned and saw a Twi'lek girl practically trying to jump down a man's throat.

Well done girl. Play in to the steriotypes. Make your race look exactly like what the galaxy thinks they arem He thought bitterly before shaking his head and taking a drink. He hated seeing that. It actually came as a releif to him when the man shoved her off.

He noted two Shistavanen talking in one area, one of them being the Sith who had organized this little suarey. The fact that a nonhuman had set this up was another reason he was here.

The man he had seen deal with the Twi'lek assailant ended up coming to the bar and ordering another drink.

"That was masterfully handled, I've seen even the most stalwart man fall victim to an overeager club patron and come away far less successfully." he greeted the man, raising his glass in a toast.

Hozan was only half Shistavanen but he still considered that side of him more along the fiercer side of his temperament. It had a primal violence and danger that certainly gave him pride towards his kin. He could easily spot the approach of a rather large member of his species make his way over to him. He spoke like a romanticized huntsman but it did not bother him. "My hunts have been fruitful thus far. I personally like being the diamond among coal." He said in response before taking a sip of his beverage. "What brings you to Coruscant?" He inquired with curiosity.

It seemed more people were coming into the event bit by bit which pleased Hozan. He inhaled deeply enjoying the recreational environment he had provided and enjoyed. A fire was burning inside him but perhaps that was also thanks to the alcohol that was working its way through his system. He could try and work on neutralizing the alcohol in a calm environment over the course of time perhaps but the music was lively, the people loud and the hybrid dark sider was having fun for once.

Percy glanced up from his drink, surprised to find the compliment came from an alien in a long black coat. He was a creepy looking thing, tall dark and pale. He sported the attire of the Empire, but the face of its enemy, hailing from a race Percy knew nothing of. He decided very quickly that he had no desire to learn.

"She wasn't my type" he replied, tipping his glass in toast. In reality, his type varied very widely indeed, encompassing both women and men. But the creepy alien didn't need to know that, and he certainly wasn't going to find out how Percy had actually got rid of the Twi'lek.

"
Bit of a heavy coat for a party...". The fur trimmed cloak seemed a poor choice for the increasing heat of the Lounge, clearly more suited to hiding under rocks or whatever this guy did when he wasn't ruining other's vibes. Even without the coat, the agent was still dressed in black head to toe. It was in sharp contrast to the white of Percy's own, and made the agent's pale skin all the more stark, grey slanted eyes like beetles on snow.

Who knew what the alien was really thinking. There were plenty who thought creatures like this one nothing but spies for the Old Empire or worse. Percy half thought they might be right.

He look a long sip of his second cocktail. Maybe somehow it would make the chit chat bearable.

Talo sipped his brandy as the Sith spoke, it was obvious by the man's tone that he was a xenophobe like most of the other humans in Imperial Republica. No matter though, he never let it get to him in the past, why start now?

"Heat has never really been an issue for me, nothing here compares to the heat on Nagi. I guess I was there just long enough for my body to adapt before we came to coruscant."

He realized of course that the man was simply being polite and was likely not at all interested in his background, probably didn't even know what a Nagai was. Not many humans did. Though not many humans cared to know either.

Talo never really blamed humans for being how they were towards other humanoids, it wasn't their fault. His mother had hated them for it, probably would have said that the accident that caused her death was planned by them even. He just didn't care. He was what he was.

Deal with it.

Nagi. Percy had never heard of it. If it was as hot as the guy suggested, then the young Acolyte was struggling to understand how such pale folk survived under the burning glare.

Percy knew he was barely disguising his disdain. Yet, the alien stood his ground, seemingly unfazed. What's more, he was doing a good impression of a civil human being, answering the question without any sign or whiff or irritation. He also had a brandy in hand - not a half bad choice of drink.

A small amount of something bordering on respect began to stir in Percy. Glancing across the Lounge, the Twi'leks were still dancing, but few others had yet gathered to share the frivolity. Perhaps he could spare the tall creature another few minutes.

"So why did you come to Coruscant?"

Talo paused for a moment, was this human actually taking an interest now? Perhaps not quite, but the Agent thought he detected a glimmer of something adjacent to respect.

"My father is an engineer, when I was very young he was discovered by Imperial...well he called them Talent scouts. We were moved to Coruscant immediately so he could work on one development or another. Last I heard he was some kind of officer. We don't talk much."

Talo knew he may have shared a bit more than necessary, but whatever. He was honestly still a tad taken aback by the man he was speaking to having the sudden change in tone.

The agent followed the Sith's gaze to the Twi'leks dancing, it seemed dead in here for it being a club.

Talo took another sip of his brandy before turning back to the Sith he was speaking to.

"Sorry, sometimes my mouth gets going and I have trouble finding the breaks."

He extended his hand to the man, a decidedly bold move considering the man's obvious dislike of Xenos.

"Talo Geist, Intelligence Agent. At your service M'lord."

Talo could tell the man was Sith, there was just something about force users. So the Nagai figured that it would be good to get on the man's good side. Plus doing work for a human Sith of all people would be good for his image.

So the alien's father had been an engineer. A respectable profession. Percy's own parents had been bankers; his thoughts jumped to them before he could stop himself. Before he remembered again that they were dead. Dead at the hands of aliens.

And then there he was, standing there while an alien who called himself Talo Geist extended a hand.

Part of him wanted to walk away, to keep faith with his mother and father as he had all these years. But he'd also kept faith with the Empire in that time, an Empire that had lifted Talo Geist and his family from some forsaken rock called Nagi and made an engineer and agent of them. The guy was even apologetic about it. He'd called him m'lord.

That last bit appealed to Percy. Perhaps Talo knew in his heart that they weren't the same. That Percy was better and it would always be Talo's job to try harder. Maybe he got that, carried it, and didn't much care.

The young Sith drained the last of his cocktail, then took the alien's hand. "Percy Fleck" he replied, "Acolyte.

I'll let you know when I've a service that needs doing".

From the simple strained response he could tell that his fellow shistavin did not hold to the old hunter/prey ways. Kal was not one to hold to those ways either but he kept up the dumb hick way of speech for the cover that he was stupid. When he was asked why he was here he thought carefully and waited a second more before answering.

New prey and better hunting grounds. Plus I've yet to go see much of the central worlds.

Thy name' is Kal Bron.

Standing to his full height he barked to the bar keep and in his best basic he ordered a drink, a bleeding mynok. A waitress came over holding a tall mug with a foamy blood red drink that smelled like copper and iron with a side of decomp. Taking the drink in his large paws the drink now looked small as he sipped on it. A blood red staining of his upper lip remained even after he licked the area. With a soft contented growl he looked to the two others that shared their table

He was only catching a piece here an there but he could tell a dislike was in the air. Hunters always have a dislike for each other, because the good hunting grounds a often hard to find. This told him some and the feeling in the force that he could get was that they too were with the force and a bit more powerful than himself. The reliance on the force for power was not some thing he often did for he knew that if he was nothing without the force he would be nothing with it.

Sniffing the air he caught their scent so that if he needed to later he would know them from scent alone. The darkness of the force they were letting off he could in a way taste. Calming his mind and his heart he quieted his force and let the drink muddle it further to mask any hint of force signature. Readjusting his seat to a better placement and comfort for his legs were trying to go to sleep on him from the shortness of the chairs.

Glugging down more of the drink he started feeling more at ease he started looking around more at the diversity of the races. With a bit of wonder in his eyes of the collection of the races he had a bit of interest as to who would be a good hunt.

Was wondering why the howl in the wind? It does not appear that you are weak so as to need a flusher to drag prey, so I think on the why?

Talo was actually a little surprised when the Sith, Percy, took the offered hand. This was good, very good even. Talo shook the man's hand firmly before releasing it and downing some more of his brandy.

The Nagai agent could tell that henhad made an impression on the Sith, perhaps even a good one at this point. And when Percy told him he would let him know when he was needed it solidified Talo's feeling that he had actually made a contact wjere he hadn't expected to. After all, why would he expect that here? Talking to a human in general when not necessary could sometimes be considered a brash move on the part of any xenos, but here Talo had approached a Sith, who even as an acolyte outranked Talo's superior's superior, and struck up a conversation.

"Well met Lord Fleck, I look forward to hearing from you." he said before finishing his brandy and placing the empty tumbler on the bar, he knew an Acolyte was far from a Lord in the rankings of the Sith. However he also knew that to a non force user even the lowest born Sith was nobility.

"Now then, I have taken more than my share of your time M'Lord. So if you have no need of me at the moment I shall take my leave."

With that Talo left the bar area, taking a moment to jot down a description of a Devaronian who appeared to be selling death sticks to give to the proper authorites before heading out of the club into the crisp night air. The planet of course never slept, and Talo had no plans to either. There was always more work to be done.

Percy watched Geist leave. The alien was a curious one, deferential to the last. He wove away through the crowd, a martial discipline in the way he walked, long dark cloak flowing behind him. He certainly made a good show of serving the Empire, maybe he was an asset after all.

The tall agent disappeared out of sight and Percy found his eyes drifting to the neon sign beside the staircase, promoting the Lounge's other offerings upstairs. Rooms of a exotic and wholly different nature, where patrons could find a relaxation neither dance nor alcohol could offer.

The young Sith set his empty cocktail glass on the bar and made his way towards the stairs.

It was good to be young.
