[ooc: Okay, this thread is Open, but I'd really like to get some Republic Senators or any other Republic chars together for a discussion. So if you're up for it, pop on in.]
Senator Jamall Mohatu stood behind the brushed durasteel desk within his usual office on Balmorra, tucked away on the top floor of a skyscraper within the planetary capital city. Upon his desk were stacks of old-fashioned paper documents tucked inside neat manila folders, while a computer terminal built into the desk was active, the twin flatscreen monitors displaying a wide range of information, from local and Republic-wide news feeds to reports to e-mails from citizens complaining about one thing or another.
Several hours ago, he had sent messages to many of his fellow senators, requesting that they meet him in his Balmorran office as soon as humanly possible. The communiques relayed the urgency of the meeting by saying such things as a 'Meeting that may prove vital to the war effort' or 'a discussion that will have a profound impact upon the Republic'. And both were true; between the plan that had formulated within his mind and the contents of the thick stack of folders upon his desk, the meeting's results would be beneficial for all. But first, there was the little matter of getting the Senators to come to him, so that he could relay his ideas to them in person.
