Saracbecca sat back in the commander’s chair of the Aar Veccar. She had considered the venue of the rendezvous carefully. Certainly as a member of the senate now she had access to one of the illustrious senatorial suites or meeting rooms; she had to battle her own pride and sense of importance for the sake of safety and security. It would have been nearly impossible to assure that none of those rooms were bugged, that none of the staff were bought, and that no one would be watching who came into the meeting rooms and who left. Treason, of course, was no small matter.

Saracbecca didn’t like dealing this way. But there was no way around it. The Sith were closing in, sure the Border Alliance may hold them off long enough for the Senate to realize they needed to go to war, but Kashyyyk was too close to the Border Alliance planets, too close to the Sith, to sit idly by while the majority of the senate twiddled their tentacles in fear. She had to consider her planet, her people. That’s why they elected her, to serve the people. She would do it the best way she knew how, money.

She gazed out the viewport. Her prize lay in the space below them. Kessel. Its spice mines could pay to feed her people for years to come. It would be hers. Not today. Not this month. But it would be Kashyyyk’s. There weren't many natural resources left to exploit on Kashyyyk, they needed a wider resource base if they were to become the true power house Saracbecca's leaders demanded.

They would be here soon. Saracbecca checked her datapad again, rereading the message she'd sent to the invited senators. She invited many members of the senate, some who were members of Border Alliance planets and some who were in positions like herself; planets bordering the Alliance and in danger of being overrun if the senate doesn’t act. She’d invited them under the pretense of a trade agreement between their planets as well as a general meet and greet for a new member of the senate. Hopefully they wouldn’t all show up at once, it would give her time to feel out their loyalties. Then again, maybe no one would show up for a rookie Wookie senator.
