The Republic Supreme Commander paced quickly through the halls of the main government building located on Corellia. Pushing himself past republic soldiers he finally made his way to the Supreme Chancellor's office. Sparing the formality of knocking, Talrar quickly walked in and saluted to his friend, Leikinn Arular.

"Sir, I have come across some intriguing information. Not too long ago, the Mandalorian General Fey had approached me in an offer to unite ourselves with his group of Mandalorians. However, after looking through our records, I found something quiet interesting."

Talrar handed the small folder that was tucked underneath his arm to the Supreme Chancellor. Motioning for Leikinn to read, Talrar waited instead of telling him what was written. You could never be too careful. Crossing his arms, the Supreme Commander waited for the Chancellor to speak.

Raising his eyebrow, Leikinn gave the Commander a silly look, obviously stumped by something. "You know, Talrar, this organization hasn't used flimsiplast (paper) for decades? A datapad next time, please," he said, brushing back his hair and taking the folder.

Sitting on the edge of his desk, Arular digested the information inside, and after a moment or two, flipping back to the front page, and tucked them back into the folder. "Talrar... Why haven't I seen this before now? This is clearly a very important document, and not one to have been kept away from the Supreme Chancellor... Don't tell me you just 'forgot about it', like last time."

Talrar shrugged slightly and scratched his head, obviously stumped. He looked to his only Commander and grinned sheepishly, then spoke.

"Well, I only recently have learnt of this past engagement between our past leader and Mandalore himself. But yes, I agree this is no matter that should be taken lightly. What do you suggest that we do?"

"Well, certainly we enter into contact with this character, and if they're willing, we keep the agreement. It's much better that we gain an ally here, than an enemy," he said in response, shrugging his shoulders and walking across the room.

"The Sith may have taken our capital from us, but we'll take their ally, something they won't expect. We may just have the upper hand after this one, Talrar. Good work."

"Thank you, sir. Shall I contact the Mandalorians now?"

The Republic Supreme Commander had already moved towards the holographic display, ready to enter in the information to reach Mandalore himself. All the Chancellor would have to do is give the word and Mandalore would appear shortly.

OOC: I love it...lol.

Talrar nodded, then entered in some highly classified coordinates into the monitor, then waited. He couldn't imagine the Mandalorian leader's reaction to the news, but Talrar was sure he wouldn't accept it easily.

OOC: I'm PM'n Duncan about this now...

On Planet Mandalore, the greatest of all warriors sat in his throne displeased. His ceaseless finger drumming had left indents on the arm of his chair. No one dared speak, until finally, a small pipsqeak of a Sergeant mustered up the nerve.

"Mandalore, sir?"

His voice quivered with a trembling cant that could only indicate fear. However, he seemed to gather up further courage upon finding out that his brains had not been immediately blown out.

"A Republic transmission on your viewscreen, sir."

Grumbling a bit, Mandalore waved his hand towards the wall, where a large screen suddenly switched on, and some guy in a Republic uniform stood waiting for him to respond.

"What do you assholes want now?"

"Assholes? Assholes!? I kill you! TALRAR, SEND SOME WMD'S THAT MOFO'S WAY!!!"

Just kidding!

ic: "Well, I am still craving a slice of pumpkin pie that my secretary was supposed to bring by my office, but apparently that's not going to happen now. She rang my desk a little while ago and said something about fascist pigs. I cannot recall the whole conversation," Leikinn responded, taking a step toward the viewscreen, in front of Talrar.

"But, I guess I'll have to settle with something a little less important. I understand you entered into an agreement with a former Supreme Chancellor of the Republic?"

Chancellor... Chancellor... hmm, Mandalore had made a lot of 'truces' in his years as leader of the Clans, most of which had ended up with the other side slaughtered. Which guys were these again? Oh yeah! The Republic, right, those washed up losers.

"Was your last leader the queer little runt, kind of annoying, made you want to smash his face in?"

Suddenly realizing that that described pretty much everyone in the Republic, Mandalore quickly made a correction.

"Joshua, somethin' like that?"

Alright, time for the uplifting speech part, Talrar should get pretty excited about this one, he loves speeches, especially ones said by his superiors, he's always smiling and clapping afterwards.

"Well yes, most people around here are pretty annoying, even more so when they're out there killing things.. and pointing guns in your faces, but yes. Joshua, yeah that was his name. You apparently made a pact with this man, to enter into a possible alliance? I'd like to honor that, and hopefully go to battle with you against your adversaries. I'm getting tired of sitting behind this desk and waiting for my pumpkin pie, I want to go out and get it!"

Mandalore sighed, his helmeted head slumping against his equally armored fist. Why had the Sergeant called this to his attention again?

"So let me get this straight. I'm probably the greatest warlord you've ever met. I could find and crush you and all your allies on a whim if I so choose. And now you're calling me and telling me that I need to honor a pact with some other loser... so that you can have pie? If this is a joke, it is in poor taste."

Mandalore stopped, hesitated for a second, then quickly spat out

"No pun intended."

But, if you've got something serious to talk to me about, y'know, something worth the effort, something concrete, then why don't you spit it out. Otherwise, get the hell out of my viewscreen."

It's funny, because even though this was an extremely serious moment, and any normal man would either become quite angry, or scared by Mandalore's statements, all that came back in response was laughter. Cold, hard laughter.
"Hahahahahahahahaha!" It went on for some time...

........

"It's funny that you say that, Mandalore, because from what I've seen, your rag-tag little group had its ass kicked quite a few years back, and now, instead of leading an assault on the galaxy, you've decided to take the backseat in the spacecraft being piloted by the Sith. As of right now, you are a secondary target in our scopes. And there is no great honor in that, hiding behind an empire and letting it destroy your enemies.

"Mandalore, your clans travel the galaxy in search for a worthy adversary, do they not? And you know there is no greater adversary than the Jedi, they beat you before, and now they're back on our side once again. The Sith is the greater threat here, and you obviously know this fact, why else would you ally with them? Now, what I am offering you is a chance to fight that great fight, to take this war to the Sith, and to battle this powerful enemy side by side. This war will be talked about for thousands of years, do you really want to be known as the ally of the victorous who was later destroyed because it had served its purpose, or do you want to be known as the victorous, who fought against a much larger empire, and overthrew it?

"The choice is yours, Mandalore."

"So you're preaching to me about honor? Why if I was there..."

Mandalore sprang up in his chair and slammed his fist against his chair, causing a noticable creaking sound. His rage was up, now.

"Listen here, whelp, because I don't know where you got the audacity to come onto my viewscreen and start requesting my help by insulting me. The Mandalorians will survive this war as we always have. My name will go down in history as honorable and a great leader.

Honor is not gained by signing a pact with the Sith and later betraying them. Death for us, on the other hand, seems very likely."

He sank back into his throne a bit further, sulking a bit and beginning to drum his fingers on the arm of the chair once more. His tone was a bit more relaxed, though still fraught with frustration.

"You are aware, of course, of what we Mandalorians already stand to gain from this? You know the complete terms of our former little arrangement?"

Leikinn remained quite still and quiet while listening to the blunt instrument's retort with a calm face, even had a little hint of a smile.

"Oh yes, we're aware of the details... And yes, we're willing to give you Coruscant.
So I take it we have a deal?"

"Yes, I will honor the terms of our pact."

Sitting up straight, Mandalore suddenly pointed an accusing finger towards Leikinn's mug. The relaxed nature of his voice quickly shifted once more to one of abject outrage.

"But you damn well better do the same, hear? Don't even think about siding with anyone other than myself. Bargaining with the Mandalorians regarding this issue will only occur through me personally, understood?"

This little clause was to ensure that whoever it was who placed the bounty on Mandalore's head, the same one who was stirring the pot of Mandalore's assassination, would not interfere with their alliance with the Republic.

"As clear to me as a glass of Mon Calamari water," he said, that little hint forming into a regular smile. As he was, in fact, glad at the outcome of this conversation. Leikinn had not expected this to just be some civil convo, this was dead serious, and the Mandalorians were a great enemy to them indeed. Albeit, now they were great allies.

"Have a great day." And with that, the connection was broken, and the Supreme Chancellor turned to the Commander, with that same smile still evident upon his face.

Talrar nodded to the Supreme Chancellor once the connection was lost. After a few moments, the Commander looked back to his leader, somewhat puzzled.

"And what shall we do with Mandalorian General Fey, the one who is planning to betray Mandalore himself. Shouldn't we have told him about his General?"

"If he doesn't already know, he is a poor Mandalore," was his only response.
