Personality: Mikey, as her childhood friends called her, is a hard worker preferring to do things herself instead of leaving someone else in charge because, as she says, "If ya want somethin' done right ya better do it yerself. Can't trust anybody but yerself. Jokers can't do nothin' right..."
She is Correllian through and through, a stubborn, hard working gal with hard calluses and warm smiles. She's as tough on herself and her workers as she is kind to everyone else.
Biography: I grew up in the boondocks of Correllia... Sounds familiar right? Kid, everyone who grew up on Correllia most likely grew up in the slums. The entire planet is bars, casinos and slums. My mother was a former, ahem, lady of the night who settled down when she had me. My dad was lying, adultering scum that cared too much for his reputation to give a crap about whether we lived or starved. My mother always said I was a fighter. I cheated death more than once before I could even walk.
Mama settled for a rather civilized life as a barmaid (where we lived tending bars was rather civilized). From the time I started school until I turned thirteen I preformed for the bar patrons so Mama and I could live out of two tip jars instead of one. We still had to scrape by. But between my trick shows and her quick efficient work, we made ends meet.
At thirteen I began helping her at the bar on weekdays, walking the streets on weekends doing tricks and errands for payment. A credit chip here, maybe two there. Nothing much but even a little extra made a difference.
Even backwater planets like Correllia get the occasional Jedi. Most of them show up to do Midichlorian checks on the kids. That is what happened when I was fifteen. Turns out all those tricks I always did were using the Force. To a gangly teen that wanted to get out of her hometown it sounded like a great adventure. My mom and friends protested saying I was better off where I was. I took that to mean they thought I couldn't do it. So I accepted their challenge, told them I'd be back to show them I had made it and left with the Jedi. I still regret it.
I really was better off bartending on Correllia. I wasn't cut out to be a Jedi. I barely scraped by in the mandatory lightsaber class Initiates take. (Shii-something) I didn't have any friends there. I couldn't keep a Master. The only thing I even remotely enjoyed was learning how to use the Force. Even then I still didn't learn a lot.
Eventually I couldn't stand it anymore. The life of a Jedi wasn't for me. I was too hotheaded and prone to anger for them. I'd never be what they wanted me to be. So,only five months later, I left.
I gave them back my lightsaber but when I got off the transport in Tatooine it was in my bag. I threw it in a drawer where it most likely still lies today. A mechanic who sold junk and salvaged technology took me in, gave me a room, and taught me his trade. I became his successor when he died and left it all to me. There was resentment among some of the other mechanics there but we all created a system of working together. Because while I was their boss I was also their equal and they knew it. I completely turned around his failing business with their help.
I had never been to the dust ball called Tatooine before the day I left the Order, but I couldn't go home and let them say, "I told you so." I still practice and actively use the Force in my everyday life and it comes in handy. But I don’t believe I can ever rejoin the Order.
Datapad Entry During/After Battle of Tython said:I just received the news. The Jedi are gone. Tython is in disarray. The Sith have invaded Coruscant. The world as I once knew it is gone.
News is slow getting to my little corner of the world. I closed the shop after I felt a disturbance, which is rare for me. I began asking around. I only received pitying or confused looks until I made it to a bar where the HoloNews was playing. I couldn’t believe my eyes or ears for a few moments. I will have to make an effort to find more information from now on.
