Millions 'dead or displaced' as Sith rain destruction onto Kashyyyk
Following the arrival of the Empress over Kashyyk, and subsequent attack on the world, it is estimated millions of Wookiees have been killed or displaced. In the attack, which saw Jedi and ISCRA personnel evacuating refugees, and Senator Aezz making headlines for ill-timed comments to the Consortium, Sith forces fired at population centres, such as major cities, in indiscriminate attacks against the civilian occupants of the world.
Whilst exact figures are hard to pin down at this time, the Hyperlane Herald estimates the figures of those killed in the bombardment to be rising with the hour, with millions missing and yet to be accounted for.
Preliminary reports show that every major city on one side of the planet has been raised, with countless smaller villages destroyed by sustained orbital bombardment. Fires rage across the world, which is heavily forested, and have thus far not gone out. Reports suggest that the Sith Empires' fleet deliberately targeted the cities, although they did not attack refugee vessels from the Consortium.
Senator Aezz has been unable to be reached for comment, owing to his current active involvement in the defence of his homeworld. However, some early comment from those affected has condemned the Sith Empires to attack, which they carried out due to the Wookiee's friendly stance toward the Jedi Order, as an 'indiscriminate and despotic attack, which deliberately targeted, and massacred, countless innocent civilians'.
