Manufacturer: Misriah Development Arsenal Industry
Production Line: Heavy Rail-Assisted Pistol
Model: SIW
Technical Weapon Designation: SIW-7
Affiliation: Law Enforcements. Private Military Contractors.
Availability: Stock
Modularity: Average.
Composition: Dallorian alloy mechanisms and barrel, nickle-plated coating, durasteel structure.
Ownership: Gabriel
Description: The SIW-7 Black Widow is the newest generation of the pistols developed by M.D.A.I and is preferred for its accuracy, high damage and effortless reloading. The Black Widow utilizes an older firing mechanism, wherein an explosive charge is responsible for the initial release of the bullet, while rail mechanisms incorporated in the barrel aid in the bullet's lethality by further accelerating it to the lethal velocities suitable for penetrating modern armor, as well as inflicting horrendous damage to flesh. Incorporating miniature inertial dampeners keyed into the firing mechanisms to reduce the recoil. Its design consists of top mounted picatinny rails and a nickle-plated coating, it also incorporates a side-sliding safety switch.

It's muzzle velocity is around 675m/s making it a effective weapon at most ranges, the large .65 caliber slug fired from the pistol carries tremendous amounts of ballistic force. The slugs are similar to older models of ammunition, using chemical charges that propel the bullets from their cartridge casings.

Classification: Heavy Pistol
Size: Small
Length: 27.4cm (274mm)
Weight: 1.89kg (4.16lb)
Cartridge: .65 caliber slugs
Ammunition Capacity: 10 rounds per clip
Muzzle velocity: 675m/s (2214.57ft/s)
Range: 55 meters optimum, 75 meters maximum

Íf you have plans on using this weapon, I would like you to send either a PM or VM concerning it to me before you begin using it.

This ain't gonna fly, Nirvana, me old boy!

A 65 caliber round with a chemical cartridge would NEVER fit inside a pistol, or anything that isn't a sniper rifle. They're larger than your hand. So no, you wouldn't be able to fit 24 rounds per clip. You MIGHT be able to fit ONE down the spout, but that's it. It'd be a single shot pistol.

Now, due to the simple mechanisms of a chemical cartridge, especially for something as gargantuanly oversized as a 65. caliber pistol, the slug would have been pushed out of the barrel long before the rail mechanisms could have engaged to "boost" it like you claim it would. And indeed, the two forces would simply negate themselves.

Now, for the third problem: Recoil. As Newton's third law dictates, for every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction. A 65 caliber round leaving a pistol would break your fingers, your wrist, your arm, and most likely dislocate your shoulder simply due to the extreme recoil it produces.

Kiro, the round is not 65 in caliber, it's .65 - It's a bit larger then the round used in a Desert Eagle, but only by .15 - I admit that I went overboard with the clipsize and I wouldn't mind toning it down to around 10 rounds per clip.

The instant you pull the trigger and the hammer strikes the casing of the bullet the rails activates, and gives it the boost that will further accelerate the bullet.

Inertial dampeners

They help reduce the recoil that would be produced by the pistol, there are still recoil in them. But not to the same extent as before, think of it more as that of a Smith & Wesson Model 500 recoil when firing this gun.

Actually, it could be something like a .45ACP or 9MM parabellum cartridge in terms of size - say, 15x23MM or something like that. (Not at all an accurate number mind you.) The idea of using a .65 caliber round is workable, and it wouldn't generate near the recoil forces Kiro's suggesting. (unless it's a full-sized rifle round, in which case yeah, that's pretty insane.)

That being said! Kiro raises a bunch of pretty valid points. I'll touch on those later today, after I've had some sleep - to give you something to chew on until then, consider reducing the caliber in order to keep the magazine capacity high, or reduce the magazine capacity to under 10 rounds to be able to use .65 cal rounds. You also won't be getting 'hypersonic' muzzle velocities out of this - I'd suggest at looking at something comparable to a real-world 9MM Parabellum pistol's muzzle velocity to give yourself an idea of what you can do.

Those are just arbitrary numbers and ideas, subject to change of course. More later when I'm less sleepy.

EDIT:

Good ol' Nirvana is already on the case! Seems like you're already on top of things, so I will discuss this moar and respond in depth later.

Then I will reduce the size of the magazine cllip, I could also probably change the firing mechanism to be the same as that of the REC-74 Spear. And also the magazine system as well to the same, just on a smaller scale. I'll look up more on the speed that this thing will fire and see if I can find something on the site that uses similar firing mechanism, if so then I will look up what speeds they fire their rounds at and try to work something out based on that information.

Well, get some sleep Ji and then we can continue talking about how to make this thing work.

[ST]Okie. :3

First, I'd like to see a hard number for the muzzle velocity - nothing 'hypersonic' either. Most pistols can only just break the sound barrier, and while there are exceptions to that I'd rather you not automatically jump on the 'uber velocity' bandwagon.

I'd appreciate it if you'd reduce the ammunition capacity to something between 7 and 10 rounds. Anything in that range is reasonable!

Given the relative power of this weapon, I can't allow it to be recoilless. You're going to have to remove that part entirely - recoil damping would be acceptable, but not the complete mitigation of recoil. As you pointed out, you're probably looking at kick on-par with that of a very high caliber revolver, which will also serve to limit its rate of fire considerably.[/ST]

Now that edits have been made, this is Approved!
