Mission Pack: Elucidation

• What is going to happen in your plot? Spearheaded by Ner’Giza’s astromech droid KLT-99Z ( Nine-nine, 99 ), organizes the rescue of HoloNet News Anchorwoman Nastia Vant. This leads to the creation of a mobile news network, it's platform being Resistance focused to instigate further rebellion against the Empire. Through the use of GA asset Zabrak slicer Sonna Deli, various communication arrays will be used throughout the galaxy to broadcast the news via this DarkHoloNet. This will bring the GA forward, underground to the public consciousness of the outer rim. It would make any future plots to acquire more worlds for the GA in that area much easier to execute.
• What other players will be a part of this? Ner’Giza (Kayenta Moenkopi), Aurelian Keth (Lazy Swordsman), Nastia Vant[DM/npc] (Lucid), reporter (Rom)???, Greybok (Malon)??? Will be recruiting pending approval.
• Where are all the places (if more than one) that your plot will be taking place? Obroa-skai, Outer Rim Territory in undisclosed locations.
• Please provide a basic in-character timeline of what you expect to happen.
  
  • 1. Droid Rage [ DM ]: Ner’Giza, the Quilting Bee ( 6 of Nera’s npcs ), and 99 head out to rescue Nastia Vant. 99 sends out a call to arms to his droid friends for support. 99 uses his fandom files to contact Nastia Vant to arrange her extraction from Inner Rim Territories library world of Obroa-Skai, hiding out amid peers who are covering her presence and identity .The slicer Sonna Deli traced her location through following her spending till it dead ending in that area and through conjecture figure out that she went there where other academics and political dissidents could work right under the IR's nose. [ DM: Lucid/ npc Nastia Vant; 1- 4 participants ]

  • 2. White Knighting [ Dice ] : The rescue team faces opposition to get Nastia, and any potential compatriots, off world to a GA safehouse. The sith have, like the slicer figured her game finally but since our team beat her to it, she has a chance. [ Dice: 1- 4 participants ]
  • 3. A Beacon For Truth [ Dice ] : The team sets up a mobile news station jacking into satellites/communication arrays with the aid of GA asset, the legendary slicer Sonna Deli. [ Dice: 1- 4 participants ]

  • 4. Hope in the Territories: Since the network is underground and, at this time broadcast only to those who would know how to find it (IE: People who would sympathize with the GA and rebellion leanings) Serves as a formal announce the GA's existence to those who already have those ideals in their minds. Seeking an interview with Greybok he provides evidence of forced labour and inhumane treatment of empire citizens and slaves alike.

Great plot, love the story angle here. However, I must confess but your in-character timeline was hard to read. Is @Lucid acting as the DM of Nastia, or is he playing opposition too? How many threads is this? If you're including Nastia's broadcast, are talking around six threads? Of course, that should be sufficient given the reward.

The crux of this is revealing the existence of the Galactic Alliance in an underground broadcast. Is this pure fluff? If not, or even then, it's rather questionable. Broadcasting to sympathizers doesn't guarantee no leak whatsoever ICly. What's to stop independents who appear to have rebel leanings choose to reveal all this information to enemies of the Alliance?

Or are you just saying that this is a formal announcement broadcast for those already with and aligned with the Rebellion, not for outside so-called sympathizers? This is just my interpretations. I need something concrete.

Aside from those issues above, which are just fluff clarifications if anything, this plot is good to go on my end.

These are very good questions, some I had myself actually and thought we could work on that here. Perhaps that is not protocol? I was unsure.

I was quite afraid of the disclaimer that said failure to use this format would result in immediate denial. Sorry for how hard to read it turned out. :D

1. In the DM thread, Lucid will play as the npc Nastia to provide some tough negotiations between herself and her rescuers. She is not going to just come willingly because she will suspect everyone at this point of being out to assassinate her for the IR.

In later threads she will be won over to the idea and be played as an npc, by Lucid, who is part of the mission objective for that particular thread. ie: a team member.

2. The location for her broadcasts will be mobile, so she will not be in danger of being located. That there are rebels can hardly be a surprise so that is not a very big reveal. However, what I am proposing is revealing to the territories that a unified resistance exists to add some credibility to the movement so that other worlds will be more inclined to join. To let the territories know there is a strong rebellion that is organized and give courage to those who wish to follow suit. - This can be toned down to be a closed/GA members only news feed, however that is rather just preaching to the choir and not so very ground breaking. Going that route would make it not really worth the resources being put into the establishment of the mobile dark holo net.

3. The news broadcast of Nastia revealing the Jedi is placed in the timeline to fix a point of reference for these sequence of events, as is mention of the tribunal thread. With respect to Nastia's broadcast I was hesitant to claim that as a thread to count toward this mission as I am not its author. Lucid may be claiming that elsewhere.

4. I expected Minuteman and Malon would either approve or deny the plot and or their participation in it, such as to interview Greybok and use the GA asset, Sonna Deli. I have not spoken to either about this as I wished to have something concrete to present to them.

5. this is five threads but could be expanded to meet reward recs.

From a lore perspective, there is no such thing as the "dark (Holo)Net." The HoloNet can have encrypted channels and chatrooms, just like the internet, but there will always be a risk of that information being stollen, hacked, sliced, or just accidentally sent to the wrong person. Doesn't mean that this is a bad idea, but you just have to be very conscious of what information you decide to leak.

I was not sure what to call such a thing. ha ha I don't know how the internet works and am functionally illiterate when it comes to computers.

what I am envisioning is like an underground newspaper only over the net. A non-sanctioned media outlet that the Empire cannot locate, because it is mobile and re-routed through a series of locations to make tracking it next to impossible. The slicer Sonna Deli would have the skills for that end as she is a top grade slicer, legendary.

I wonder if the signal can be encoded as secret transmission within the regular feeds that has to be decoded in order to view? Don't hate me but... like on star trek one time, the transmissions were there but it was next to impossible to detect unless you knew what you were looking for.

And how do you feel about Greybok being interviewed and the GA being announced as a real and strong force in the Galaxy? Nera definitely would go rescue this woman. She is already attempting that. The other parts though, she would obey orders. It is not in her make up to go rogue.

Why don't we just shelve this idea and maybe sometime I will try to think up something else to do another day.
