Kalique usually spent quite some time on Raxus and this day wasn't any different. Her duties kept her as busy as always, yet tonight was one of those hard to come by night offs. The day had been long and dragging, yet after having taking a shower and meditated for a moment, she felt as good as new.

After having sent a casual checking in message to Altair, she figured out that the Grand Marshall was also off this night and on Raxus, and so she had gotten back to their still lasting agreement: A good horror-holo night was still open and both of them seemed to welcome this distraction.

Obviously, she had invited him over and even if her apartment was rather small here, it would definitely suffice. She had set a moody atmosphere with only a few dim lights and the screen was already prepared. Streaming services would allow them to choose whatever cinematic terrors their hearts desired and as she waited for him to head over, she put some popcorn on the stove. If they were doing a chill movie night, she'd keep it classy.

Altair actually didn’t think this movie night would be a thing. A lot had happened since that crazy festival night. He was thrown into work, he had visits with his daughter and a billion other things. He was about to go to the gym and work out till he collapsed on his day off when Kalique invited him. A brow rose and he weighed a few thoughts. Ultimately, he shrugged and agreed.

He arrived on time, carrying a giant assortment of snacks and alcohol. Altair may have been a formal military man now, but the old party boy would never truly leave him. He knew how to have a good time.

“I hope you don’t expect me to pick a pansy ass movie,” Altair said with a smirk when he showed up, plopping his haul of snacks and drinks down. He was a massive fan of the Dead Evil series, but it was the spooky possession movies that really got his heart racing.

He looked around the apartment, “Cute place,” He said, “Perfect for someone your size,” He said with a wink.

The little corns plopped open one by one and not much later did Altair show up, hands and arms completely full. "Well hey there!" she was excited and happy, but the warm smile immediately faded as her gaze flicked down. She was obviously a little baffled about what he had brought and as he plopped down the snacks, she realized the huge assortment was somehow not what she had expected.

She met his gaze again with her mouth partly opened in disbelief. "Look at that pile...does the Thorne routine allow cheat days?" she remarked amusedly before she broke into a chuckle. "Damn it how many people are still coming?".

She had all the healthy snacks in the pantry and fridge - vegetables, protein chips and nutritious cookies, but Altair's plans were clearly different and she actually found that hilarious. Her air fried, no fat and sugar free popcorn looked ass against his haul, but it seemed like they clearly wouldn't starve.

"Pansy? Please. I bet you're the one trembling first" she teased back with a scoff, confident with what she stated. Jump scares did usually get her, but she loved a good thrilling, suspenseful movie and she was curios to see his horror-movie watching game.

The remark about her apartment made her smirk again, and she curtly replied, "It is indeed enough for me" before she grabbed the popcorn bowl and took a seat on the couch. "Soo hmm...you want to start with something you haven't seen yet or rewatch a classic first?".

“It does, as a matter of fact,” Altair confirmed. He had been following the Thorne regimen religiously for years now. He paused to look over at her assortment of ‘movies snacks’, “Damn girl, is this your pad or an old people’s home? This is like you invited your diabetic grandpa over for a movie,” He shook his head, plopping a package of spicy chicken wings on the table right next to the vegetable snacks. Who the hell ate veggies during a movie? Disgraceful.

He looked at her and nodded, “I mean you’re right. I do get pretty scared, but that’s why I like scary movies,” He smiled before bringing over some of the snacks and a few beers. Altair plopped down on the couch next to her, his broad frame taking up a lot of space. He had to shift so his horns didn’t accidentally knock her on the head.

“All right, let’s do something real sketch,” He explained, “What about.. The Triangle?” It was a creepy movie about a girl that climbed out of a Holo projector to kill people. It was an unsettling classic.

"Make yourself comfortable" she gestured for the couch right before he's mean comment hit. She dramatically glared at him, mouth flapped open right again."Excuse me?!" she then raised a brow, demonstratively crossing her arms in front of her chest while surpressing a laughter.

"I was just trying to be responsible, okay? Veggies are tasty!" she argued, shaking her head. She reached for one vegetable stick and crunched it while the wings filled the air with their delicious marinade though. "But okay. You've won with your snack game" she did admit with a chuckle though, reaching for a wing.

He even had alcohol with him and while she had stored some as well, until then, she had had no idea he had planned on getting hammered. "Okay apart from the family buffet you've already brought, can I bring you a different drink? Water, juice-" nope, this wasn't up his alley tonight it seemed, "rum, gin, whiskey?". The latter, he had drunk on the Imperial ball back then, so maybe that was his preference.

"Ooh sweet! Okay then a classic first...what about we make a game out of it? Every time their problems could be solves by unplugging the TV, we drink?", she playfully suggested, tilting her head as she mischievously glanced up at him. She liked his choice as it was chill-provoking and suspenseful, but there was a way to make this even more fun.

Altair paused to make them both rum and cokes - a classic. He helped himself to some chips at first, watching the movie slowly come on. Her drinking game idea caused him to chuckle, “We will be plastered,” He said, thinking of all the times the people in the movie were absolute idiots, “But deal.”

They barely got through a few scenes with both taking drinks before there was a dispute, “-Look, there ain’t no way that dude coulda grabbed a remote to switch off the Holo or gotten to the plug in time!” Altair reached over to pause the movie, “Look! There’s no remote in the scene! He’s just sittin’ there frozen in terror as this bitch is crawlin’ out the screen. It'd take him at least five seconds for him to unfreeze, scramble over and unplug the Holo,” He pointed excitedly, “That doesn’t count as a drink.”

He looked thoroughly pleased with himself at making his solid case. He even confidently chewed on some popcorn to get his point across.

"Nice, thanks" she fully agreed with his choice of beverage and took a sip to get a feeling for the mixture. It was already strong enough and he had a fair point. "Isn't that the goal?" she amusedly asked, not minding to take her mind off things for a little while.

A few sips later, the movie had barely gotten past the first 20 minutes and she could already feel how it made her slightly loopy. "Heeeey now!" she stopped him, jumping up and waving a raised finger from left to right. "Nuh uh!". His points were fair, but he forgot one deciding factor.

"Look, what if the remote had simply slipped into the sofa? This happens sooo often, they're notorious to do that. He was just being an idiot for not having reached down! That's why it's not in the scene!" she stated excitedly, sitting back down and sliding her own hand into the crevice behind her.

"Also duh, if a psycho bitch is coming to get ya you do your best to unfreeze quicker!" she shook her head, convinced with her point. "Let's compromise. Half a shot!" she finally suggested, offering a diplomatic solution.

Once this debatable point was settled, she'd snatch the remote to press play again and leaned back for now, dutifully taking the sips whenever they had to. There was one scene with a really mean jump scare that aaalways got her, however today, she only slightly winced. "Dude...it's so mean how she suddenly charges".

“Oh yes,” Altair said sarcastically, “With a crazy chick coming out of a screen, why wouldn’t my first thought be to reach between the couch cushions? Maybe I’ll find some food crumbs I can sprinkle on the monster,” He scoffed. He was about to argue when she suggested half a shot. Altair pondered over it and agreed, taking the shot.

Unlike Kalique, Altair did jump a bit, almost banging their heads together, “Fuck!” He yelped, hating that particular scene, “That gets me every time!” He said moodily, annoyed that he was the only one that jumped. He resolved to rectify that immediately. There was another jump scene coming up, and he casually began to move his tail back behind them both without her noticing.

The moment the scene happened, he suddenly tapped her shoulder with his tail while he innocently kept his eyes on the screen, “Oh that one is a bad one,” He said very seriously, munching on some popcorn.

She only shook her head at his argument, still finding her point solid. He agreed with her compromise after all and she'd stick to her point about how the remote would have been his savior. Leaning back, she enjoyed the building of more suspense until Altair visibly flinched.

"Shhh...it's okay. She cant hurt you. The remote is right next to me, I'll turn it off before she comes" she teased, patting his arm in a soothing manner while she was visibly amused. Little did she know that while she had been rather fine and prepared this time, she had no idea that he made the next jump scare so much worse.

"HEY!" this time, she did jump a lot, a hand immediately rushing to her shoulder where she had DEFINITELY just felt something. "Wow okay that's rude...even meaner than the stair trick you pulled on me", there was no way this hadn't been him.

Pretending to pout, she crossed her arms and sank back into the sofa, throwing him an angry glare that looked however more adorable than actually mad. Her heart was speeding in her chest. "I'll get back to you when you least expect it and the revenge will be sweet" she added softly, like a sweet yet devious promise while already considered possible scenarios.

The movie reached its climax and approached the falling action, which then soon led to the denouement, however, the scenes where you thought the plot was already over but it actually wasn't did lace her skin with goosebumps again. "Okay what would you do if that emo bitch crawled out of our screen now? Punch her? Slap her with your tale?" she whispered near the end, glancing up at him with quite some booze in her system.

Altair’s amethyst eyes narrowed as she made fun of him for jumping. Whatever, he knew he was tough. Even if these movies made him extremely nervous. He tried not to laugh as she jumped from his trick, shoving more popcorn into his mouth to distract himself. He looked utterly shocked when she accused him, “What’re you talking about? I was just sitting here digging in between couch cushions..” He trailed off. Her little angry pout made him smile unexpectedly, and his eyes lingered on her for a moment before he turned to take another drink.

He was very much into the movie now, leaning forward in his seat and very aggressively chewing on some snacks and washing it down with booze. Altair watched the movie coming to a close and looked at her after she asked her question. He thought for a moment, “I uh…” He looked very serious, “I think I’d probably yeet your ass like a Huttball at her like I did on Prakith and bolt in the other direction,” He couldn’t keep a straight face. The image made him burst out laughing even though he knew she would be furious.

Altair calmed down from laughing, his gaze flicking over to her goosebumps, “Are you cold?” He asked curiously.

Altair was great at his game, yet somehow, she simply couldn't believe him. "The way you aggressively crunch your popcorn is suuuper suspicious, just saying" she playfully nudged him, still convinced it had been him even if she wasn't entirely sure now, but she simply clung to that thought as it was way more soothing that to think she had imagined it.

She could see him tensing up, the muscular arms flexing and his gaze completely fixed on the movie as she asked her question. She too, was fully into the movie, awaiting the next pin drop silent that would be broken by a sudden assault of the psycho, but they needed to settle this very important issue.

Her gaze went to his slightly clenched fists while she envisioned him to jump up and box that bitch right back to where she came from, but his reply completely caught her off guard and she jumped up, staring at him in disbelief. "YOU WOULD DO WHAT?!" this was completely outrageous and unacceptable.

She glared at him accusingly, yet fully incredulous before she burst into laughter as well. The imagine was too damn hilarious and while it had been needed on Prakith, the thought of him yeeting her towards that emo chick was too much to handle. "You're unbelievable" she chuckled, sitting and calming down, but needing a few moments to catch her breath.

She cleared her throat and focused on the Triangle again, yet whenever the monster came into sight, she was throwing him a quick side eye, hoping he wasn't getting any ideas. "Oh a little...guess it was mostly the tension. Mhhh wait" she hopped onto her knees and leaned down, looking for the blanket she had had on the couch, with her torso upside down, she did wander to the side of the couch where she found it.

"There...I must have pushed it off when you declared you intended to use me as a projectile" she pulled it up and sat back down, offering the other half. "You want some? Oh no waiiit, you're naturally hot". Tiefling perks, his skin was usually burning, she remembered. "Wait...can you even get goosebumps and shivers?" now that was an interesting, even fascinating biological mystery that needed answering and it even distracted her from the ending.

Her reaction was better than he could have expected. He laughed even harder when she sprung to her feet - probably the only time she could tower over someone was when they were sitting down. Altair smirked at her and slowly extended a celery stick, waving it at her in case she wanted to angrily munch on something.

“I’ll take that as a compliment,” He said with a grin at being called unbelievable. Altair quirked a brow when she bent over to get the blanket, “That’s a nice view,” He remarked, but if she looked, he was conveniently looking at the Holocsreen where it was paused on some scenery.

“Yeah I’m basically a heated blanket myself, but I like fuzzies just like anyone else,” Altair said as he took the blanket. He couldn’t remember the last time he did movie night complete with a fuzzy blanket. Altair tossed it over his legs, feeling rather cozy, “I’m heat proof, not cold proof,” He said with a grin, “Plenty of things give me goosebumps,” He said as he looked back at the screen. Altair had brought over a jug of sangria and he poured them both a cup. Altair got comfortable on the couch, “All right, next movie is your pick.”

She did grab the extended stick, crunching it away as she stayed in this slightly offended state a little longer as she grumbled something to herself. Another funny thought was hurling him and impaling the possessed emo with his horns, which actually didn't seem like such a bad option.

Bent over meant the blood literally shot into her head which then again meant it was making the booze level worse. For a brief moment, the thought about how something could lure underneath the couch crossed her mind, which was why she was more than relieved when she was back up, facing Altair with a smirk.

"I didn't picture you a fuzzy blanket guy...adooorbs" she teasingly remarked, throwing it over him as well before they both got comfortable again. "That's cool though...I'll still make it my next mission to give you chills". Oh she had plenty of devious ideas, especially while they were still watching horror movies in dim light.

"Duuude, Sangria? I love it, but mixtures can be fatal! Also, I don't have a super liver" she sighed, however immediately reached for the drink with a smirk and clinked their cups. "Okay okay. I've already got the perfect idea! You know how they made a remake of the 'Them' holo?! It should be shooooocking!" she giggled, excitedly reaching for the remote and searching for it. "I hope you like clowns...". Reaching for the bowl of popcorn, she sat it on her lap and started crunching the first corn. "At least you've got a blanket to hide under now".

“What? I love sappy shit,” He admitted freely. Altair would always be up for blankets and movies or any other corny activities.

“That’s why only I’ll play a drinking game this time,” He said in response to her observation about sangria, “Can’t have you throwing up on me, so you better slow down,” He took a swig of his drink, “I guess I’ll drink whenever a clown shows up,” He snickered. Not only was he a tiefling, but he had a high tolerance from all his party days.

The movie began and a creepy clown showed up. He took a drink and grimaced at the screen, “I don’t like clowns,” He muttered, “If that thing came out of the screen, I’d put my horns through it,” Altair said flatly. There was just something about clowns that made him want to punch the daylights out of them. Perhaps it was because they smiled too much…

Altair got even more comfortable, leaning back into an arm rest so he partially laid on the couch. At home with his siblings, everyone always fought over the couch. Nowadays he loved sprawling himself out wherever he sat to take up as much space as he could.

Well, to some extent she knew he didn't mind a certain level of sap, however, seeing the demonic, tall, broad-shouldered Tiefling wrapped in a fuzzy blanket was surely something else. "I wooon't puke" she confidently stated, shaking her head, which immediately made her dizzy and thus not that sure anymore. "But okay...I'll sit this one out". Maybe it wasn't the worst idea after all.

"At every clown? Okay you'll be wasted". That was her solid guess, but knowing him, he'd have it filtered out of his system asap. She leaned back and the holo began, the atmossphere was terribly uncanny from the very first second, thus she kept enjoying the constant thrill.

The clown did look creepy for sure, but she didn't have any particular problems with them. Spiders were worse... "Clowns, really? Hmm...Impaling them with horns sounds oddly effective, yet I do wonder why you wouldn't consider yeeting me this time". She threw him a smirk as she pulled her knees up on the couch and made herself even more comfortable as well.

There were surely some scenes that sent a chill down her spine and she had to admit that this movie was close to freaking her out. "Daaamn those teeth...that's so unsettling" her gaye flicked over, realizing how he wa sprawling himself out like this. "Heeey. Don't you sleep in on me now" she playfully nudged him from the side as a kid was about to climb into the sewers.

"Waaait...nooo. See, this is what I never get. There are always so many stupid decisions!" she complained loudly, facepalming herself. "Okay tell me. What would lure you in there? What would them have to promise to climb in?". She momentarily paused again, posing a serious question.

“Don’t worry, if I fall asleep, I’ll have a nightmare about your snack collection and wake up,” He responded encouragingly. He couldn’t lie, the couch was incredibly comfortable, though he couldn’t exactly properly lay down with his horns in the way. Altair took another sip of his drink, watching the kid wander in to go into the sewer, rolling his eyes.

Altair looked over when she nudged him, and he pondered her question. Without warning, he coiled his tail around her and tugged to make her topple into him. He stared at her while some kid got his arm chewed off in the background. His amethyst eyes pierced into hers, “Would you rather lay here or sit on the other end of the couch?” Altair asked quietly, resurfacing the Would You Rather game they started when they socialized at the Imperial formal.

Obviously, he simply used the next opportunity he found to plant another jab against her snack selection that literally made her roll her eyes before she couldn't help but to chuckle. "Okay you can stop now...next time I'm invited you I'll gather all the junk food I can find". Again, she crossed her arms and disappointedly shook her head, her gaye still reproachful.

He seemed to ponder, but then he suddenly reached out with his tail and just pulled her onto him, which prompted a little gasp from her as the slick move came rather unexpected. "I...uhm" Oh no. Only now did she realize that they haven't had this talk as their last two missions hadn't led to any tensions. Would this make it awkward? She was hoping that the option of banging being off the table wouldn't destroy how well they vibed when hanging out.

She pushed herself up a little, bringing more distance between their faces again. They had defined their conditions again and while they had agreed on keeping it things casual back then, as serious as things were between Jonathen and her, she obviously couldn't continue the casual encounters they once had.

"That was smooth as always..." this, she had to admit. "But I've got to say that out of respect, my answer is 'not sprawled over you'. I don't mind a friendly cuddle, yet, it's not right as I've gotten into something serious" she explained truthfully, directly stating what was cooking instead of any vague bullshit before she pulled back with an apologetic smirk.

Altair’s eyes went wide and he quickly straightened up in his seat, “Oh shit, my bad! I didn’t know,” His face grew hot from embarrassment, not any kind of hurt. He wouldn’t point out how she definitely gave a lot of mixed signals. And he certainly didn’t believe in anything like ‘friendly cuddling’. But he respected boundaries as his mama raised him right. He removed the blanket from himself and kept a respectful distance from her, his demeanor recovering quickly.

“Look, Kalique,” He explained, “You’re awesome, but the reality is we definitely had a spicy start and you never really led me to believe otherwise. I’m not gonna pretend to be just a friend because we were never just that. I’m gonna be honest to myself and do right by the guy you’re with,” Altair rose up from the couch.

With that, he smiled at her, “Have a good night. I’ll see you out in the field,” He said. He had dealt with enough drama in his life to hang out in intimate settings with someone he never considered as just a friend. With that, he turned to leave, still in a great mood from his buzz. He knew for a fact he would be pissed if his girlfriend was hanging out with another guy like this, so he would never put another man through the same. He may have been a party boy, but he was very traditional about some things.

He hadn't known...of course he hadn't. This might have sounded like a date, but maybe he had entered with a different mindset than her as they hadn't officially talked about that. For her, the invitation was for a fun night to fulfill their long time arrangement, but yeah, she realized how it could have easily been misunderstood.

"No no, all good, don't worry". Things had been different when they had first met or on the Bloom Festival, but she was still dearly hoping this wouldn't turn awkward now. "Yes, back than we weren't, don't get me wrong. Right now I was just hoping we could just hang like that". She was chummy with a lot of soliders as the male quota was naturally high in the military, but she understood what he said and obviously respected his choice as well.

He was smiling and it sounded like there were no hard feelings, yet she still noticed how he had perhaps expected this to lead somewhere else and if they hadn't immediately started with the first movie, maybe she would have already told him back then before it had naturally surfaced. She was sad that the movie night was interrupted, yet there weren't any hard feelings from her side either.

"Have a good night as well!". His reaction was actually just proof for his excellent manner and so she couldn't help but to smile. She decided to clean up in the morning as such tipsy states weren't meant for tidying up, so she moved towards the bathroom to get ready for bed.
