Cait was in her Sith gear, minus her helmet. Her hood was down, and her red hair was tightly tied up into a bun at the back of her head. While it had been that way for awhile, there wasn't many hairs that had pulled loose. It was a testament to her ability to style it. She was playing with her lightsaber hilt; it floated over her hand, spinning in circles. It spun in such a way that if she triggered it it'd slice through her upper chest, though she had no intention of doing that, it just added an edge of danger to the play.

She was in her sarka home office, standing in front of the desk but close to the doorway. She knew Gil was coming, and pretty much the reason why. Darth Victress had convinced Cait to join the Sith Order, despite all of Cait's doubts and emotional break downs over the Dark Side, this was her final decision on the matter. It was the best one for The Exchange in the long run.

Waiting, she was facing the doorway but not really paying attention to it. She was much more engrossed in spinning the saber around and around. Partly to expend nervous energy, partly to exercise simple control over the Force but mostly to amuse herself. She expected Gil at any moment though had lost track of the actual time probably about an hour ago.

It had been a month since he had last been here, a month since she had been lost to him. He was hopeful that if he got away then she could break free from whatever had taken ahold of her.

Now, he wasn't sure she had ever wanted to be free from it. He had found out that she was leaving to fully join the Sith again a few days prior. The feeling of betrayal had hit him hard. He wouldn't stand by and see their organization get pulled into the Sith Empire. From its earliest days, The Exchange had been made to be neutral, but he now saw it never really had been.

He had contemplated gathering his own forces and taking control for himself. He thought he would have the support if he did. It was the kind of cutthroat move that was expected of him but he knew he could never do that to her. He would be discarded than go to war with her.

With that, the decision was made. He made his way to Sarka, she had returned not more than a couple of days after he had pleaded for her to leave.

He now stood outside of her office door.

He had thought about what he was going to say his whole way here, he was no closer than when he had started....

When Cait heard someone outside of the door she obviously knew who it was. She stopped playing with her lightsaber, letting it fall into her hand in the regular grip. Of course she didn't point it towards herself, she wasn't going to stab herself anymore. She pointed it directly in front of her and was holding it chest level. She waited for him to come in but he didn't, so she went out herself.

Opening the door, she went right in front of him, so close she could almost feel his body heat. However, she didn't say anything. He had come here to say that he was going to betray her, the exchange, and everything he had said and promised her. If anyone was going to talk first, it was going to be him. Not her.

Cait stood in front of him and waited, staring up at him. She felt a very cool anger begin to brew inside of her, both inwardly and outwardly at him and herself. Him for what he was going to do any second: betray her. Her for trusting that love was anything but a word and a lie.

He looked down at her for a moment, a sad expression on his face. He felt like she was being torn from him and there was nothing he could do to stop it.

He had flashbacks of the glimpse of power she had shown him. Maybe it was his own mind playing tricks on him, she seemed more like what he had witnessed that night and less of the Cait he knew.

"Why..." he said quietly "...Why couldn't of you just stayed with me on Nar Shaddaa..." he asked. He noticed the lightsaber hilt in her hand, saw the anger in her expression.

He had been told that he had issues with always trying to save people. Is that what he had come here to do? Save her? She didn't want to be saved, maybe she didn't need to be saved..

He hadn't moved away. Why hadn't he moved away? The IDIOT! He was a liar, and betrayer and now stupid? Cait was done with this all. How could he not have seen what she wanted to do?

She was waiting for those words of betrayal to fall from his lips. And right before the end of his last sentence, right after 'with me..' as he began to speak the last word she ignited her saber. It was in her hand. It wasn't in reverse grip. It was pointed away from her towards him. It was chest level. They were so close she could almost feel his body heat. And most importantly, it ignited in under a second. If there was anyway he could avoid it, it was unfathomable to her. It would hit somewhere in his stomach area, if it landed.

"Why couldn't YOU have stayed with ME?!" she snarled, though she would only speak if her lightsaber had hit true. "Wait, I know why, because love is a lie and a weakness."

He knew he was in danger. He had known he was in danger ever since there night here a month ago.

He realized the attack was coming, moving to left, but not fast enough. He made no move to pull his blaster, he never would have. She had told him what she was on their first night together, a monster. He had fallen in love with that monster.

The plasma pieced him in the stomach, his breath catching in his throat. His eyes widened and pain surged through his body.

He slumped down towards her. "I just wanted you to come with me.." he got through a cough.

Cait listened to his words, and quite frankly, they only triggered her more. Her blue eyes flashed a sickly yellow as she slid her blade out without saying a word. He wasn't quite dead yet, but he would be soon. She more than likely severed his spine in the process too, which would've taken away his ability to walk.

The eerie red glow of her corrupted blade distinguished, though after as she walked away his words flooded into her mind. Had he tried to lie to her? Tried to imply that he had come here to ask her to come with him? Then why had he said 'why didn't you' in the beginning? Plus she had already known he was coming to say goodbye, so what purpose in saying that was there? Did his words mean something else?

NO!

She shook her head and clenched her fists tightly. This was the wrong line of thought. He had proven to her that love was a lie. A worthless, filthy LIE. HE. WAS. GOING. TO. LEAVE. After ALL the promises. After she professed her love to him and cried in his arms. JUST because she was making a choice he didn't like, he was willing to throw it all away. Everything. If who she thought was the sweetest man in the galaxy could do that, then there was no hope for anyone else. No hope for love. The word made her sick thinking about it. Disgusted. The Dark Side swirled around her violently, tainting her eyes a yellow again but this time it stuck as if it was blood staining clothing.

She walked to her desk, sitting down at it and bringing up her holocomm. Thumbing a few buttons she waited for Darth Victress (@Faded Truth) to pick up, "Master," she began, "I received your message," one she had gotten earlier but decided not to reply to until she had dealt with 'this' first, "I'm on Sarka and will be heading back to Korriban shortly."

He fell to the ground, fingers sliding down her armor as he weakly tried to catch himself. The pain was excruciating. He tried to mouth words, but no sounds came to him.

She sat in the room for a moment. In his delirious state, he expected her to come back around, to save him. She didn't. He heard her speak, only just hearing the words. He wasn't sure how long it was before she left. When he saw her, he reached out a hand for her, but she moved past him and left.

He was alone.

His eyes fluttered, the pain eased for a moment. He reached with a hand, tapping the comm device on his wrist, calling whoever he had last spoken to. He didn't even know who that was anymore. His vision grew blurry before he slipped into unconsciousness.

End.
