Nar Shaddaa

Standing on a rooftop terrace surrounded on all sides by brightly lit up high rises, Aiden snorted in disgust as he waited for the others to arrive. The Smuggler's Moon, while a good place to find work, had always put Aiden on edge. A moon sized city completely devoted to crime and shady business could produce nothing but trouble when left to it's own devices.
Put in a proper authority, however, and it might be able to be somewhat productive. Aiden and the other two people assigned to this job were gonna try to enact such an authority.

The plan was fairly simple, blow up one of the air recycle stations, and hold a second one hostage until their demands were met. Fairly straightforward, but he'd have to keep an eye on both his partners. One was a member of Clan Kryze, and the other was one of his own clan mates and a sort of frenemy at this point. Both warranted only minimal trust until proven otherwise.

"Well this is gonna be a helluva day..."

Nar Shadda. A planet composed mostly of neon lights and garbage. Both the literal and the human varieties. Embers flared in front of Tifa's face as she took a drag from the t'bac stim stick that rested gently between her lips. Eyes watched her, all around, the garbage people of Nar Shadda flowing like shit through the streets as a sewer, giving the unhelmed Mandalorian a wide berth. Looking up at the building atop which their meeting place rested, Tifa silently hoped the lift was functional.

-------------------------------------

Of course not. Why would the lift on a one hundred story building work. Instead the inhabitants had mocked up a crude trolley that travelled up flights of stairs, a marvel of scrapheap engineering that they charged exhorbitantly for the privilege of its use. So it was annoyed and several dozen credits broker that Tifa arrived at the rooftop meet up.

"So what's the plan cap'n" speaking through shuttered lips as she attempted to light another t'bac stick mid sentence. With marginal success, the stick half catching. Close enough. Sweetly foul smoke filled her lungs, a mild chemical buzz coursing through her body. "Please tell me we have a plan".

Walking by Tifa, Scarlet casually flicked a cigarette of her own, and stepped on it. Blowing the remainder of her last puff, she rolled her eyes at the Kryze girls comment.

'Get on your knees and show him a fun time why dontcha..' she put away her lighter, and pack of small cigars.

"Frankly, it should be all our decision.." she click on her helmets IR visor mode, she got to work.

"Heh. Child's play. I could do this alone." she said with a smirk.

"This air recycler is defended less on the outside, and more on the inside from the looks, and very heavily so." she clicked off the IR and turned to finish her thought, though saying it rather fast as she was in her zone of thought now.

"So I say two of us, blows up this recycler with all the security inside, making for easier clean up, while the other one takes the other in disguise, and begin the holdout." she said all in one breath her expression rather focused and amusingly so.

"So. Anything to add?"

Aiden turned to face the other two as they arrived, rolling his eyes at Scarlet's cockiness, only to look at her in mild surprise and nod when she laid out her idea. "Overconfidence like that is what gets you killed, Scar, or worse. Hutt Space is not an area you want to get caught with your pants down in. As for your question, Tifa, of course there's a plan. It's pretty similar to Scarlet's idea, just a bit more refined so it has better chances of working."

He paused long enough to pull his helmet off it's clip on his belt and slide it on, then continued. "Tifa and I will get set up and ready to hit the facility we're currently overlooking. Scarlet, you'll haul ass to the second facility and gain entry to the control room. Act like you're an enforcer for a local Hutt Lorda there to inspect the facility, and get yourself into the control room. I leave it to you to come up with the rest of your end. We'll link up with you when the first facility is toast. Sound good?" If there wasn't any complaints, Aiden would move to the side of the rooftop overlooking the air recycle facility and activate his rangefinder, getting a closer look at the place to verify what Scarlet reported. As he did so, he opened a private comm channel to Scarlet, lowering his voice so that Tifa wouldn't overhear. "I'm trusting you to do the solo part of this mission, so please don't rush into it. I wasn't kidding by what I said earlier, there are fates far worse than death on this cesspool, especially for someone like you. Take care of yourself, vod, I'll let you know when we're heading your way."

Tifa suppressed the urge to roll her eyes as the newcomer, Scar, put forth the idea that mission planning should be democratic. Then spouted egotistical babble about being able to pull off the mission all by herself. Clearly the woman was knew to the idea of military operations. That attitude would get you so far as a freelancer or bounty hunter, but in the Dominion there was a chain of command.

A small smirk formed on her lips as Aiden lightly reprimanded Scar, hidden by a hand bringing the t'bac stick up to her mouth. Nodding as Aiden detailed the plan, she looked around the rooftop for their explosives, spotting a trio of small bags. "Sounds good to me." She mouthed her approval for the plan before moving to get acquainted with the devices of destruction that they would be using for the nights performance.

Permacrete detonators. Not enough to take down the whole building, but that wasn't on the menu for the night anyways. More than enough explosive power to completely ruin the plants ability to recycle the smoggy air of Nar Shadda. Glancing over at the Captain, she noticed his helmet bobbing ever so slightly as he scoped out the target. Keeping me in the dark. A mental shrug. Wouldn't be the first time that information was compartmentalized during an op. She had learned during her time with the Sector Rangers that sometimes it was best to keep things secret. Still she couldn't help but feel a little snubbed.

"Good luck out there." Bitch. Smiling sweetly to Scar before she headed out. Something about the woman rubbed her the wrong way, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. Moving next to Aiden, she engaged her own optics, the air recycling building across the airspeeder clogged way jumping forward in her HUDs vision. Immediately she noted two guards patrolling the buildings rooftop. "Two guards on the roof. How are we going in cap'n? One high, one low? Or stick together?"

Scoffing internally, she could feel the beaming of hatred from the Kryze girl rather closely, and stingily for that matter. She didn't really care for her opinion one way or another anyways. Anyone of that horrid house was barely worth a blaster bolt. Nodding to Aiden's idea, as much as it stung to take orders from him, it was a good plan all the same, and she knew it. Especially considering they had her doing what she did best. Freelance work, putting holes in heads and making it look like someone else had done it.

"Sounds good. Now get to work. I've got things to do." she said turning on her heel, and walking towards the airspeeder they'd arrived in, the feeling of disgust emanating from Tifa all too permeating to the air. She had a rather odd feeling when she passed her by, as if Tifa had only further decreased her self worth to more of the bitch she was.

'Oh shut up, and stop licking his fun parts already ****. Your presence is disgusting enough as it is.' She thought as she hopped into the speeder, her helmet comms opening unexpectedly.

"What is it Aid-" he said his piece as she took off.

"You don't listen do you." she sighed.

"I've already been scarred Aiden. I don't need your sympathy." she scoffed.

"And frankly. Don't call me your vod. Ever." she cut the link.

"I don't deserve it."

Driving along, she pulled out her fake ID kit, and shuffled through the box as she kept her eye on flying to her destination. Finding the ID, she touched down at her target destination. She braced for any form of greeting, and if they didn't greet her, then all the better.

Aiden just sighed heavily, resisting the urge to facepalm in response to Scarlet's reply. 'I swear, one of these days, I'm gonna have to smack some sense into you...' Shaking his head, he stood and grabbed two of the bags, tying them to his belt. "We'll move in together. Use the aircar traffic as cover, drop the guys on the roof, and breach the building from there. I think a bag each on the turbines, power generator, and control room should do the trick. Scarlet's on her way, so let's get moving." Taking a running start, he leapt off the roof, triggering his jetpack after a second of free falling. Weaving among the various speeders, he kept himself hidden until he was practically within spitting distance of the guards. Raising his rifle, he put two rounds into the guard on the right's chest, leaving the other one to Tifa as he landed on the roof.

-----------

Meanwhile, at the other facility, the two guards stationed at the front door approached the newly arrived speeder with caution. One stayed further back near the door, his rifle at a low ready, while the second walked right up to the driver's side door, glaring at Scarlet. "Who are ya, and why are ya here? This is private property."

Tifa followed Aiden's lead, propelling herself off the roof and then engaging her jetpack once she had fallen an adequate distance. Her rifle too was out and ready as she flew, quickly covering the distance to the air recycling plant, weaving through airspeeder traffic.

Feet down for a controlled descent, her rifle lines up on the gaurds head, and with a quick squeeze of the trigger it dissapeared. Landing over the dead body, Tifa quickly confirmed that the two Mandalorian were alone on the roof.

"So what's Scar's deal anyways, the attitude?" the woman's rebellious and cocksure attitude obvious to Tifa. Walking at a brisk pace, she approached the door that lead down into the building. Just as she was about to press the keypad to open, it opened, a Gamorrean and a Trandosham standing there, staring, shocked at Tifa.

"Aww Kriff." Complaining as her rifle came up, blasting the Transoshan in the face just as he went for his gun.

'Well. Showtime. Aiden better put in a good word for me on this, or I'll be ROYALLY pissed.'

"Are you blind? Since when was it okay to slack around smoking cigarette's, and watching holovids instead of doing your job? Or should I tell Lorda Petar it'd be best to fire you?" she smirked as she exited the speeder to follow the guard.

"You would be wise to see that his enforcer get's the inspection she requests.."

"Or my inspection will cause you more problems than just being unemployed." she said walking sternly, a rather determined, but filled with authority strut as she walked along with her body language.

As they approached the roof access door, Aiden just sighed and shook his head. "I've got no fekking clue, to be honest. We grew up as childhood friends, until one day she lost both an arm and her father in a workshop accident. Once--feth!" As the door slid open to reveal the two goons, Aiden brought his rifle up and put three bolts in the pigs chest, then followed up with a shot between the eyes once it was down just to be sure. "Well, that might've just ruined the surprise..come on." As he entered the stairway and started working his way down, Aiden opened a comm channel to Tifa so they could continue speaking without too much risk of being overheard. "Anyways, once she was well enough, she just up and bolted. Didn't hear a word from her for over two decades, then she pops up again a few weeks back with this cocky attitude, treating me like I'm something in her way to power or some such crap, instead of the friend I thought I was to her." Reaching the first landing, and hearing voices on the other side of the door located there, Aiden gestured for Tifa to prepare to breach.
--------------------------------------
At the mention of the Petar, the guard who'd approached Scarlet, who appeared younger than his counterpart, stiffened up and went pale. "Lo-Lorda Petar sent you?! Sorry to keep you waiting, right this way!" As the younger guard escorted her to the main entrance, the older one fell in beside them, a skeptical look on his face. "I haven't seen or heard of any Mando working for the boss, at least none that he'd trust for something like this. How do we know you are who you say you are?"

The two guards corpses fell to the ground, smoldering holes in their faces and chests. Moving forward without a second glance at the dead bodies, she listened to Aiden's tale.

"Sounds like somebody got a little full of themselves dealing with two hit thugs in the Outer Rim or something. Needs to be taken down a peg or two." Hopefully this mission wouldn't be her introduction to reality, they needed the other soldier to carry out her mission if this operation were to have a chance of success.

Movin as silently as possible through the facility wearing heavy armor, they quickly made their way down the stairs to the first landing. Pulling out a regular which she consulted briefly, the sounds of voices on the other side of the doorway putting her on edge, she looked at Aiden and showed him the pad. Through the door, sharp right, two doors down on the lefthand side of the hallway sat the security room. If they could rush the security room before the guards got a chance to pull the alarm, there was a possibility they could shut down the buildings security systems.

With a plan in place, Tifa motioned to prepare for breach, using hand signals to indicate she would make a break for the security room while he covered her. Taking a deep breath to calm her nerves, she keyed the door open. Swiftly moving through the doorway in a slightly crouched stance and a strafing to the right, she blasted one of the three guards who spotted her whike they had been chatting amiably by a water cooler in the middle of the hall that ran perpendicular to the security room hall.

Just as swiftly she was covered by the hallway wall, and it would be up to Aiden to hand the last two. Her sights were already shifted down the hall, where a pair of guards flanked the security room door. Particle bolts erupted from her blaster as she gunned them down and rushed the security room.

Scarlet froze for a split second from the older guards comment, before whipping around, and grabbing him very tightly by the throat.

"Maybe that's because I'm sent in when he smells bullshit." she continued to hold him by the throat, watching him choke as she held him up, the more than likely scared younger guard watching.

"What good would his best enforcer be if everyone knew about them hmm?" she slammed him to the ground letting him the chance to breath.

"Now do as you're told before you're put on the Lorda's hit list." she said returning to follow the other guard once more.

When offered the pad, Aiden took a look at it, and after a moment, he nodded in agreement on the plan. Stacking up on the opposite side of the door that Tifa had, Aiden rushed through the opened door on her heels, his rifle already up and sending several bolts down the hall at the guards. The second guard had just begun to turn towards them in reaction to the first getting shot when one of Aiden's shots connected with the side of his head, sending him sprawling. The third guard didn't fair much better, because even though he dove sideways into cover, that cover was just the water cooler, which was quickly blasted apart, a couple of the bolts punching through it cleanly and hitting the guard.

Satisfied that they were no longer a threat, Aiden followed Tifa down to the security room. The door was locked shut, and not having time to slice the lock, Aiden simply stuck one of his thermal detonators to the door, then primed it on a time delay. Motioning for Tifa to back off, he backed up to a safe distance, waited for the boom, then rushed through the door. Inside were a couple desks loaded up with camera monitors, and two very startled guards sitting at them. One of them was shot out of his seat by Aiden, but the second dove for the red alarm trigger on the wall next to him.

------------------------------------

The older guard yelped in surprise, only for the sound to cut off into a strangled gurgle as his air supply was restricted. The younger guard nervously watched, his nervousness now even more apparent. As the guard was thrown to the ground, he coughed a bit before croaking out a response. "Alright, alright, sorry for doubting you. I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't question people who show up unannounced, so pardon me for doing what I was told to." Getting to his feet, he opened the door into the facility and walked in. "So where would you like to start?"
