Ask Necessary Complications

[Elias Ryn]

Elias was caught staring too but because it reminded him of feelings of when he was back home. There were numerous times that he had skipped school lessons to show up drunk at one of these arenas back home. But, they had to keep moving and the fights were only going to last so long. Tommy agreed to move and both of them started to slither away as she faulted him for picking the mine. "It's packed but you saw those crates." It was almost unfortunate he wasn't in this for monetary gain.

The two were beginning to put some distance between the arena as Elias led the way and simply just followed the electrical wiring. The crowd that surrounded the arena exploded into a unison of cheers as one of the fights finished and a round of boo's followed shortly after with the losing betters. They didn't make it too far before a speaker system all throughout the mine crackled to life, a grimy voice coming through, "Well, look at that gents! Chomper wins again!" A round of cheers. "Da fights are just getting started and I know you want bloodshed! Let's see who the next lucky contender is." There would be the sound of continuous clanking as it seemed something was being spun around. The voice came through again, "BORK DIVIAN!"

Elias stopped in his tracks and Tommy would run straight into his back. Both of them would start to hear beeping and on her sleeve, right at the collar, a red light appeared and continually flashed. His eyes immediately shot up to Tommy's gaze as he muttered one word, "Shit." It seemed the boss was running his own operation and was a raffle of who was thrown into the pit. The uniforms were the tickets and Tommy, unfortunately, got selected.

Before the two of them realized it, guards descended upon Tommy and grabbed both of her arms as she started to be dragged toward the arena and would be thrown over the railing and below into the arena. Elias stepped forward but guards would raise their rifles to stop him and he complied. He couldn't stop them or their whole cover would be blown.

“What?”

Was all Tommy said dumbly as the light began to flash. She heard a name being announced a few times and realized it was her fake name. She looked at Elias in sheer panic, “I can’t fight!” She screeched at him. She began to try and take the clothing off right there and then, accidentally decking him in the face in the process.

The guards shuffled in and hoisted her away while the fake uniform was halfway rolled up and around over her face with her arms awkwardly sticking up. They didn’t care, shoving her into the arena while her arms were still flailing vertically. Tommy struggled as her head tendrils got caught and she barely pulled the uniform back in time.

Her opponent stared at her as the bell dinged, questioning for a moment why he was fighting a woman. He also remembered Bork looking distinctly different before. Tommy simply stood there, looking around in the crowd for Elias. Unfortunately for him, he was getting shoved back by the guards and had no line of sight for a moment.

Tommy screamed as she was punched in the shoulder, seeing stars. The crowds cheered and she awkwardly stood there, close to tears as pain went through her. The guy across her simply guffawed, and decided to taunt her instead.

“Aww cutie, I don’t wanna hurt you. Why don’t you come back to my room and then we call this even?” He laughed before reaching over to pinch her on the butt.

That was where the line was crossed. His hand barely touched her before Tommy’s elbow suddenly went flying directly into the bridge of his nose. He started falling back and she whirled around and swept the leg, causing him to drop on the ground.

“Don’t touch me,” She hissed, starting to slam into him with kicks while he was on the ground. She wasn’t even aware of the cheering around her….or the fact that she now had to face another opponent because she suddenly became a crowd favorite.

Tommy completely freaked out. He glanced around as workers started to turn and when he stepped close to her, he was rewarded with a punch right on the cheek. It would leave a small bruise as a little reminder for this. When she was finally in the arena, they stepped aside and Elias rushed over to the railing as he pushed people out of the way to get a better view of what was happening.

He got there just in time to witness her eat a punch directly into the shoulder and had it nearly take her out. Her opponent taunted her but that's when a flip switched within Tommy. Elias' eyes went wide as he watched what unfolded with the man down on the ground and getting the absolute shit kicked out of him. "Goddamn." He muttered to himself, taking a mental note not to get on her bad side or try anything outlandish. The crowd absolutely loved it as she was a surprise underdog and they wanted more.

The speaker came to life once more. "You know the rules! Win three in a row and you get out. Make your bets!" Tommy would hear beeping take place amongst the crowd before guards threw two more workers in the arena with her. One was lanky and about her size while the other was a Trandoshan and nearly towered her. It was the second round and she had one more to go after this. The Trandoshan was first and let out a hiss before charging straight towards Tommy with his claws outstretched.

But as he drew closer and was about to swipe right at her stomach, Tommy would feel the force wrap around her frame and pull her backward and aide her movements in a natural way, making her faster and waste very little energy. A voice would enter through her head as Elias spoke to her through the force, Sorry I was late. The Trandoshan glanced where she had been before she moved and once it relocated it her, it let out another hiss and charged again.

Elias fingers arched around as Tommy ducked to the side with his help and when she cleared another swipe, she would feel her arm and fist launch themselves directly into the cheek of the lizard. There was enough power behind it to send him stumbling back a few feet. She would barely feel the blow as the force coiled around her knuckles.

Tommy’s victory was shortlived when it was announced she had to win three in a row. She looked up and began to protest, but the challengers already walked into the arena. They didn’t care that she was a woman - just that she was winning. Tommy looked around for ways to run from the arena, but she suddenly felt an invisible tug as she dodged the first attack.

“What the kriff…” It took her a second to realize it was the Force. She was moved again as she dodged another hit, but this time her fist punched forth with more strength than she ever had before. Her eyes widened in shock, and she couldn’t deny that it felt good.

The rest of the fight played out similarly, though sometimes parts of her body weren’t in sync. While her fist would do a perfect punch, her other arm was flailing in the opposite direction because she couldn’t predict how she was going to move. She hated all of it, but it certainly helped her win the fight.

The two opponents were on the ground and the crowds began to cheer. They were announcing her as the winner, talking about all the crystals she would get as a result. She heard none of it, clapped on the back and cheered as she walked back through the crowd.

Tommy found Elias again, glaring daggers at him, “Get. Me. Out. Of. Here,” She said through gritted teeth and with a look that promised she would beat him to a bloody pulp like she had the first guy.

With the help of the force, Tommy quickly disposed of any challengers that tried to dethrone her. Some of the spectators commented on her absolutely bizarre fighting style but it worked and gave them credits. When the last challenger finally hit the ground, a horn was sounded and a ladder was dropped for her to use to climb out of the pit. Elias pushed himself away from the railing and out into the open so that she could easily find him.

He didn't need to lay eyes on her to know where she was. Her anger radiated off her continuously and he already knew that it was specifically for him. Tommy still received claps on her back and when she reached the end of the ground, she was handed a brown bag that jingled with some weight. When she closed the distance, Elias put his hands up subtly with a smirk on his face, "You're actually not that bad." Chomper went down completely without his doing. It was quite impressive.

She wanted to leave but Elias quickly shook his head, "Not yet. We need to get to that terminal. The whole point for coming here." He then nodded to the bag in her hand and to the people that gave her nods as they passed her. "With your newfound fondness from everyone, you made our jobs quite easier." There was at least a silver lining to all the commotion and she got a nice chunk of change for it. The guards didn't even seem to pay attention to her as they gave her the respect of the champion.

Elias turned and started to make his way deeper to the mine and where the wiring grew thicker. Obviously, there was a need for all the electrical output and he suspected it's where the control room was. He casted a glance back toward her before giving a slight shrug with his shoulders, "You liked it a little bit." There was always an elation for someone who got into a fight and made it out of one and he wondered how much she would actually admit to him.

Tommy bristled at his words and remained quiet the whole time. It wasn’t until they were out of earshot that she finally turned to face him, “No, you kriffing freak, I didn’t like it. I lost it on the first guy because he tried to touch me,” She hissed at him, throwing the bag at him, “You were supposed to clear the path for me. Instead you watched me get thrown into the ring, manipulated my body like I was a puppet and now you want me to get into the terminal. Who am I doing this for, me or you?”

She had hatred in her eyes, “You are not a kriffing Jedi because you sound like one of the other guys. You are trying to make me do things that aren’t me and never will be. I’m not going to kriff with the terminal and I certainly won’t do any jobs for you.”

Tommy began to walk out of the facility, “You are going to help me out of here and that’s the end of it. I’m not going to let you shove me around and tell me what I want to do. What I want to do is for you to do your kriffing part of the deal and ensure I don’t have to face danger. You failed at that. You completely and utterly failed.”

With the pit out of the way, Elias thought the two of them could proceed without any interruption. But he was proved wrong mightly as once they got out of everyone's sight, Tommy started to let them have it. He stopped where he was but he didn't face her at first as he just closed his eyes in frustration. Every step they took, they took another two kriffing steps backward and it was starting to wear on his nerves. When he finally turned around, his jaw was clenched but his face passive as he listened to her.

Elias nonchalantly caught the bag with one hand before dropping it back to his side as he let her continue. Her anger towards him steadily built on itself but it slowly crept in for him, it ever so inching forward as he tried to resist it. Tommy claimed he wasn't a Jedi and then tried to tell him that he would help her leave before turning away. But Elias didn't move an inch and when she took a step, she would feel his hand once more grab her arm and spin her back around to face him before it was lifted away.

"I held up my end of the deal 0R4CL3. I got us inside the mine. I'm sorry you got selected for the pit but I did the best I could in the situation without both of our cover being blown and this entire mine try to kill me and do worse to you." She appeared to actually be the only attractive female in the whole mine. "This is real life. A plan isn't just going to go smoothly with everything falling into place for the two of us." There was steel in his voice as even though he had pressed one of her buttons, she had done the same as well.

He considered their whole reason for being here bigger than both of them and he couldn't keep wasting time like this when they were so close. He wasn't going to let his parents suffer just because the slicer had a problem. But his anger subsided slightly and he realized he did need to at least give her a path out. "We made a deal and I held up my end getting you in. If you want to leave, you're free to go, I won't stop you." That's when the flashing light on her cuff would beep once more.

Elias glanced behind her and both of them would be able to a massive man near the entrance of the facility holding a device. He was flanked by guards and was directly walking toward her direction. He closed the distance between Tommy and gripped her cuff before performing a clean tear. He tossed the beeping light into one of his pockets to keep it securely there. "They'll keep following me, you just make sure to stay hidden and get out. Good luck 0R4CL3." Elias didn't know shit about computers but he was sure he could make the big man figure it out for him.

The bag of crystals was lifted with the force and tossed right into Tommy's hands. "You're winnings too. You did earn them after all." Even if she hated the fighting, she was good at it. Elias just gave her a nod because he didn't really know what else to give before he just turned around and went for the control room.
