I don't get anything in this website. Can somebody please help me? Like how do you make a Padawan? Or what are threads and how do you use them?

Welcome to the site, @Lexi-Oi!

First off, to create your character, head on over to the Character Profiles board and fill out one of the Character Templates with all of the pertinent details on your character.

Once you're done there, zip on over to the Jedi Sign-Up thread and fill out the sign-up application to get your character on the roster. One of the Jedi faction leaders, or assistant faction leaders (@Ral Aran), will give your application a quick once over and recommend changes (if any) that might need to be made to get you accepted.

Hope this helped, and if you have anymore questions, feel free to send me a PM or just ask someone for help.

Enjoy your stay.

Pretty much what @Gamov said, and my message in your forum inbox. Read it over and let me know.

Glad to have you join the board.

@Lexi-Oi Feel free to start a conversation with me at any time to ask ANY questions you have. If you don't know how to, click the inbox button at the top right, then "Start a New Conversation," then type in "Saul" into the recipient (not Saul Perth or the other Saul I've never seen before)

I can answer any question, specific or vague, that you have. I can also provide tons of tips or just be someone to bounce ideas off of.

To start, let's go with the basics. The most fundamental thing you need to know is that, when you post, there is a pencil in the top right corner that allows you to look at all the coding available. This is important later on when you start using other peoples customized stuff for yourself. Always click the more options... button below the reply box and then click the preview button before posting something long, so that you can make sure it will appear the way you want it to.

Now, this is of course a roleplaying site, so in order to make a character you would go to Character Profiles page here and use one of the basic profiles. Alternatively, you can take profiles other users have that you like and use them; to do that, quote the message that you like, then click the button to input quotes into the post you want them, remove the {quote} tags and replace everything with your own information. However, this will often require that you put in an image for your character, and those images should not be oversized. The easiest and cheapest way to do this is to copy the url of the image, or upload the image from your computer, to tinypic.com and under the resize option choose "Website/E-Mail 320x240" or "Message Board 640x480." TinyPic does not distort high quality images when it sizes them down. Then, put the image into your character sheet by using the [.img][/.img] tags (no . in the []s)

We are starting a new timeline, so a good idea for you is to create your Padawan for the new timeline. You can read about our new timeline here. Basically, our roleplay will be set 1000 years before Episode 4; a time when the Sith have been defeated fighting the Republic but are rebuilding, and the Jedi have formed what are basically Knightly Orders of Crusaders. Many Jedi follow this crusader theme closely, but you can choose any path you desire. The Sith also have a Padawan equivalent, the Acolyte, and you can receive equal training from them in case you assumed you couldn't.

On this forum we have what we call workshops, where you can test out as much as you need, to help make sure your character is looking complete before actually submitting it for completion. For the new timeline, called Dawn of the Republic, we have a specific workshop board located here. Create your own thread there, and draft your characters as badly or as thoroughly as you need to get acquainted with the coding, and also to get feedback. If you do this, let me know and I'll be sure to come provide commentary on your work. Each faction has their own workshop thread; the Jedi one is here. Ask any question you need to on that thread and it will get answered! The Jedi are organizing some pre-timeline roleplays to socialize and test out there characters; feel free to get something like that started yourself and post that kind of thread over in our Diverse RP area. When the new timeline is released, all of the RP's and Character profiles will be hosted on our Roleplay Forum, the factions will be on the Factions forum, and the Content Submission forum will have a workshop area for you to play around with anything you want.

The timeline announcement board has useful information to keep you updated about the move to a new timeline. That move should occur at the end of January. If you have any other questions, like I said feel free to either message me privately, or continue asking those questions here, depending on how comfortable you feel asking them!
