Yeah... that's the general feel of Americans. There's a lot of complaining. It's so different than my Russian family who trusts the government and doesn't worry about it. It's a really different feeling.

They've given us no reason to trust them.

Trusting the government is the fast track to getting screwed by it.

Well apparently you don't have to trust them to elect them, and then it's out of your hands...

2 party system where both partys are essentially the same. You cant vote for change without having other partys and even then you need to have senate majority. companys can donate money to the partys now. lobbyists with too much power. Agencys like the CIA doing what not in guantanamo bay. no info about area 51, states going into debt *cough* california *cough* Hardly any honesty in certain issues. Certain goverment parts are ineffecient and cost allot. Military defense contractors get overpaid

Id revolt

Too bad that they're also very, very good at spoiling everyone in their country into turning a blind eye and accepting apathy.

Yeah, a few Americans are complaining about it - now, wtf are they going to do to change it? Toss teabags into the river, and show up with a few hundred to another Sarah Palin chop-speech to tell people 'The Democrats are wrong, but the Republicans are right!'

You also face the cop-out of 'A two party system is better than a one party system!' that instantly comes up when you discuss their problems. Now that it's been brought up, allow me to be the first to discard it as irrelevant.

What we need is a way to end government corruption.

Since that's impossible, the most we really can do is complain until the country bottoms-up (which, as history has shown, will inevitably happen at the rate we're going). It's not all bad, but it's not all good, either.

America will need it if they want to enter a new stage of prosperity and might. (or however you want to phrase it) the sooner the better. the effects would not only good nationally but also internationally

Ignorance is bliss they say. Problems is too many americans are ignorant (no offense to any one guys! but anyone that accualy feeds into the bullcrap that one party is better then the other while its mostly just the same but in diffrent coloured packages needs a reality check

Politically, it's suicide to try to make it in the system without one established party's backing. The Democrats and Republicans have been here too long. As much as I may not like it (as much as anyone may not like it), they're here to stay. Even if they made any changes, it would be superficial changes alone. They hold the power, and it's not like they're just going to let it go 'for the greater good of Democracy'.

Of course they're not trying to intentionally destroy the country, but the selfish and egomaniacal tendencies of both parties aren't exactly endearing them to me. That's the way it is. No government is without corruption - it's impossible to have a government without corruption.

America may be gigantic economically, but that same giant size can implode very easily, and I think people need to start realizing that - government included.

It's not hidden. It's just not as extreme.

There is no such thing as a trustworthy government. Americans have one of the worst ones though, at least when it comes to the Western world.

That's only because it's bigger.

You really can't compare Sweden with the USA.
